    I got my Australian semi license 50 years ago by going into the local/country police station , filled out some forms , paid some (little) money , driving test was 4 left hand 90 degree turns around the block , one or two gear changes . Passed . I could now legally driver a truck pulling a triple road train (3 x 40 foot trailers) !!
    Very different now but it seems a very big mess with overseas drivers basically being able to buy their license or given a license by the company that sponsored them to come to Australia . Can be expensive if full training is given by proper trainers

    Thanks for making the video .After 25+ years of driving a lorry, class one , tankers and hiab crane , i promise you , don't waiste your time . The money is not worth the hours you will work , your company will expect you to work weekends and any hours they want , you'll be hassled by bored police/ cameras and the general public who want everything thats delivered in a lorry ( thats absolutely everything) but wont give you an inch in traffic and think its ok to verbally abuse you and drive dangerously around you . Over the last 25 years ive seen all respect for HGV drivers completely disappear, oh and that's before we talk about the government screwing each and every driver another £100 a year( plus the days pay you'll loose taking a days course , to tell tou how to drive from someone with no more experience than you ) for CPC training. It will destroy your family as you'll never see them , and your health will suffer as sitting all day isnt good for you , i run every day to keep healthy but many drivers i see amaze me by passing any medicals. If this doesn't put you off the good luck my friends 🤗

    • @GivThmHal
      @GivThmHal Год назад +2

      I’m dyslexic and I took the theory 4 times! The hazard and perception also the story one wasn’t hard, passed those first time. Once I actually revised properly for the theory and marched into the test centre and said I’m passing this time without any equivocations! I knew that I gave my time to revision and was fully confident in passing. It was my mother’s birthday get together at her favourite restaurant and the whole family was going to meet up at 12:30pm afternoon and my test was at 10am! The previous tests on the theory I took all the time I had and left feeling the results were bad. 3 occasions I scored 80/100. But on this occasion I finished the test with 30 mins to spare, I didn’t even feel to check the answers I flagged up as I knew even if I got those wrong I’d still pass. So I got up and the woman on the desk said, that was quick, was everything okay? My reply was can I have my pass papers I want to go celebrate my mothers birthday and me passing my theory. She looked at me like DAMM BOI I love the confidence 😂 I told her this time I didn’t prepare to fail. So the fact of the story is, if you find it hard to read or have dyslexia don’t ever doubt yourself. Download the app and keep doing the tests and also revise all subjects because there are trick questions! Your logic can only take you so far, but there are 20 questions you need to come across that you need to have reviewed and revised. Good luck to you all 🙏🏻 now the practical for me 🫡
