Friday Flight with the Autel Nano Plus and DJI Mini 2

- Today looked like an interesting day to fly out at the Canyon, the weather for this weekend predicts snow, so I thought I'd take the Autel Nano Plus and the Mini 2 out for a quick flight.
The Autel is up to its tricks again with its gimbal. Calibrating the gimbal onsite did nothing. So back to square one with this drone.
The Mini 2 was a trooper in the windy conditions but I did notice an error message and some uncommanded drift, so I'm going to calibrate the IMU to see if that helps.
Drones will always keep me busy!

Yep. As you can see, it handled the wind gusts like a pro.
That Nano+ has so much potential Tania. I continue to have occasional problems with mine too.
I would be happy with occasional, this is now a pattern.

@Tania Gail yep still haven't crossed over to the M3, the M2 still does a great job for me. Its good to see videos being made with the m2 👍
I got my Nano + less than 2 weeks ago. I calibrated IMU, controls and gimbal (as well as compass in field) before ever flying and no issue so far.
I am delighted that your experience with the Nano + was positive. I performed the same calibrations when I set up my Nano and my results were...not that great. Now I have to replace a propeller since it has a nick on it. It's always something with the Autel.
@@TaniaGail Sorry to hear that. I do note a VERY slight horizon tilt at times when I use Freewell ND filters, but nothing to complain about. I've only flown maybe half a dozen times, so fingers crossed. Of note, I've flown it indoors in some New England mill factory space with 10" ceilings and large area, and it did great with no GPS and just optical flow. First time for such flying.
You need to recalibrate the Nano+.
IMU, Gimbal, Compass? Been there already.
@@TaniaGail maybe needs to have firmware reloaded
Is you nano plus in FPV mode? This setting could be wrong.
Autel nano plus flies better in less wind. It doesn't like strong winds because it doesn't fly well forward by leveling attitude.
Under: Control/Flight Mode/Priority Preference activate `Speed Priority`and you Nano Plus fly some quicker against the wind. The Gimbal is working good in the Mode.
When I go to "Control/Flight Mode/" I see no option of "Priority Preference". All I see are Gimbal Speed and Aircraft Turn Speed. I believe I have the latest firmware.
