thank you sir, my grandfather has carried his 109 fas as long as I can remember and he passed yesterday an it's tied to all my best memories with him and for me to be able to fix his rifle means the world to me right now so again thank you!
Sorry for your loss brotha. Mine passed earlier this year and I got handed his 190 that I grew up watching him use. He showed me it'll drop a deer at a good distance and taught me to never underestimate one
Okay. I was just about to give up on this gun. But, now I am inspired. It is just a little note in history, but we can do it. Thanks. What did he say ... Yes we can! Hmm ... I don't he was thinking out revitalizing our firearms, but hey, who knows.
Great video! thank you. Like you, I got my Winchester 190 for my 14th Birthday in 1973. It's been a great little gun. I am going to get it out tomorrow and check that barrel. Never had a misfire with it. I did have to replace the guide pin a few years back, the original nylon one broke. I replaced it with a metal one from Numrich. These are great guns and shoot with little care.
@@TripleTRanchAndSawmill Didn't think to make a video at the time. I actually used a video on youtube about disassembly for cleaning to take it apart and put back together. It is challenging getting that spring back, but I used what has become known as the two-screwdriver method. It worked just fine for me.
Thanks for the video. I inherited one from my uncle. Don’t think it was ever fired before I got it. It works well, but I was just looking for problems common to this model for future reference. Just saw another video on how to get the pesky bolt spring back in after disassembly.
Chris its a shame I waited so long before tackling the misfire problem. I thought it was wore out because the gun was so old. Thanks for spending time at the sawmill!
I had a 190 that misfired. My issue was inside the reciever there is two groves one for the extractor one for the firing pin. Those two groves on each side of the breach gets gunked up causing ur bolt not to seat all the way forward. I learned this lesson the hard way. I replaced firing pins. Springs. Then entire bolts. Before i realised this. Hope it helps someone
Jerry it was Remington gun oil in a spray can. Had it forever so I don’t know if it is still available. Boiled linseed oil would probably do a better job protect the wood. Thanks for watching
My first gun at Woolco for 60 bucks in 1974. Bought it with my own money. Probably could have found a nicer used Winchester for that money but I was just a kid. Still, it was a great gun and I shot it till the nut came loose🙂

Yea very good info, I will check mine too
Before re-attaching the forearm stock you put something on the wood. What was it?

Me too!
I would LOVE to shop at Woolco just one more time!
Think I may have kept that gun for few years, but never fired it.
Thanks, it fixed the misfire issue.
I wonder who left the barrel nut loose.
Enrique the nut vibrated loose from the many rounds fired over many years
Don't spray oil on the wood!
What is the reason?
