Friends discussed best candy brands, I did a blind tasting. See's won out over everything (godiva, ethel, ghiradelli, lindt, scharffen when it was still independent) and the key words were "fresh" and "decadent". I only give See's as gifts, everything else can melt in the sun.
As a person who grew up in California I had no clue this company's history is beautiful. I remember my dad buying a box every time we went to the mall. I've seen that mall remove some of my favorite places and yet this store still stands. 😄😭
My mom worked at Sees in S.S.F, she bought the not perfect chocolates of 5 lbs for 4 dollars, boy I ate a Lot of See's Candiles. Great chocolates , and a great mom. Miss You both a Lot!
Yes it is. I love chocolate candy. Someone gave me a box of brittle as a gift. I thought, what am I going to do with this stuff? I was thinking about other brittle. One taste and I found out their brittle is a whole new world!
I love See’s candies especially their box of assorted chocolates! My late grandparents used to buy a box from LAX Airport for the whole family to enjoy.
I worked at See’s in the 1970’s when I was in my 20’s. I was hired as a Holiday employee, then became full-time after that. What a wonderful company! I still have fond memories; plus, I got to tour the factory which I think was on La Cienega Blvd. in Los Angeles. I saw how they made the Bon Bons, Nuts and Chews, the caramel that had roasted almonds in it. In the factory only, they called it King Caramel (not called that in the shop). They may have made the Peanut Brittle there as well, because the other factory in San Francisco is where they made the soft-centered candies. Did they allow us to eat the candy for free? Oh, yes! In fact, they encouraged it so you could accurately describe the different candies to the customers with confidence. Of course, you could only eat in the back during your breaks and lunch period. You would think you’d eat your fill forever, but you reach a point where you’re not wanting it that often. LOL They paid more than the going minimum wage. The front used to be handled only by women, with one man in the back; but nowadays, men also serve the public in the front. Even back then they said they would raise the price, but never compromise on the quality of the ingredients. Great company! ❤️
My favorite thing from San Francisco:) My family and I will always head to the factory when we’re in town. There peanut brittle is the best one you’ll ever taste! Really buttery , a little salty and creamy!
For Mother’s Day I received 1 1/2 pounds of mixed chocolates chews nuts caramels mallows and more in two personal hand packed boxes. Sees is my all time favorite candy.😋👏🏽
A few years ago I received a See's coupon in the mail. It was worth a box of 20 candy pieces that I got to pick out myself. Best coupon ever!! Never got one in the mail sense...😥
I love see's candies there the best chocolatier ever! My favorite is the traditional assorted chocolates box and my favorite chocolate is the marshmallow and caramel covered in dark chocolate round shaped its heavenly good!
These candy stores are the absolute BEST!! The smells when you walk in are soo amazing!! The only one that might compare is back in Minneapolis called Fanny Farmers, where my Grandma used to take me when I was a child!!😊
OMG INSIDER FINALLY GAVE SEE’S A VIDEO! IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS MOMENT FOR FOREVER!! THEY’RE THE ONLY CHOCOLATE MY WHOLE FAM LIKES. LITERALLY WHENEVER WE GET CHOCOLATES OTHER THAN SEE’S WE NOW THINK THEY’RE TERRIBLE BC OF HOW AMAZING SEE’S IS!
i like the one with nuts. Covered in chocolate and some white filling with nuts in it. So good :) There are so many types of candies. Only few i may not like the rest are good. Its good to have different types as we all have different tastes.
I've always treated candies as melted sugar. Someone gave me a box of see's brittle and in my mind "this is just a chunk of sugar" so it sat in the fridge for a week and my tatay (father) took it out to eat and said where did I get it. I said from a friend and he took the whole box out eating it until the afternoon. I thought what's good in it that he's been eating it non-stop? So I took a tiny tiny piece, and man it was addicting. I keep coming back to my tatay's seat to steal some of that candy. Maaan, I regret keeping it in the fridge, I only ate maybe 20grams. I am a Filipino and we don't have much foreign brands in our area, candy shops are rare.
Best candy in the world! It's been a family tradition since about the start of the company. My grandpa used to always have a box of See's on hand. Now that we live in Indiana we have to order it online
We always got See's from the Easter Bunny when I lived in CA until I moved away from home and then it seems Santa started sending See's for Christmas to NC. Now my husband gets See's suckers every time I visit family in CA, they somehow follow me home on the airplane..They are that magical.
As being from California now in Florida 😯😟 sees candies can't be beat! always the very best, been eating sees candy from 1969 to present 2022 and into the future 👍
The lollipops is how my NC husband quit smoking over 30 years ago, sent to him by my CA family. He still gets them today everytime I make a trip out to visit family. I just brought home two boxes for his Christmas Stocking Stuffer!

I highly respect that this company posts it's INGREDIENT list on the website! I had purchased some fudge from Uncle Butch's fudge... they had fairly good reviews on amazon... but when I got it I was SO disappointed! Sickeningly sweet, and not very choclatey tasting. They structure their sales so that you CANNOT see the products' ingredients until after you have purchased it, the ingredients are only listed on the box AFTER you receive it. And Guess what I saw? First three ingredients were sugar, water, and palm oil. Chocolate was ELEVENTH on the ingredient list. See's posts their ingredients right on the website, so you can read before you purchase. NO water, NO palm oil, and chocolate is FOURTH in the ingredient list.
I just ate one Sees candy with black tea. :D Candy too sweet but it goes well with not so sweet tea. ( i put less honey in my tea to go with one candy, there still some candies left, but i better eat one or two a day ^.^) We don't get sees candies often, maybe one time or two a year.
Sees started using Vanillin - fake Vanilla .. it says it right on the box. It's not the same. I've noticed a decline in quality. Now tastes like chocolates sitting on the shelf for months at Target.
to be honest i only like their solid chocolates, peanut brittle, lollipops, bordeaux and scotchmallows because i’m super picky… but all of those are so good!
We can thank Warren Buffett for saving See's. It's profitable now, but a while back when it was in some gloomy days, he loved the chocolate so much, he bought the brand to keep the doors open.

a box lasts you 40 years?? not in my house haha!
