It original comes from the middle east, specifically the Levant region. If you travel to any of Jordan, Palestine, Syria and Lebanon you could find this ice cream everywhere. It's the real deal.
i actually had this the other day, i had the salted oreo and just the plain vanilla and to be completely honest it really wasnt all that great but that's my opinion
I quite frankly disagree. It's not a dough at all. It doesn't fall under it's requirements. It's made the same thing as ice cream just with "masket" and "sahlab" (not sure how to say it in English) which makes it stretchy. So, no, it's not a dough. It's ice cream.
I’m Syrian and I love this ice cream! I guess when they called it stretchy ice cream it kinda pissed me off because it’s more than stretchy ice cream to me XD
I just went there a few days ago and it's nothing like normal ice cream! It was a deliciously weird experience. The strawberry one is amazing 💕🙌🏼 tho I wish I had tried the white chocolate one. I don't remember seeing it 😭
Yeah I don’t like Arabic ice cream. Too... stretchy. I prefer something creamier like soft-serve consistency. Also the flavors are usually fruity which I’m not a fan of
I’m fascinated to learn abt this middle eastern technique of making ice-cream that even predates the modern technique we know, and all the comments are: 1. “it looks like slime” 2. “it doesn’t look safe to eat” which I find extremely disrespectful and xenophobic. Of course it’s safe. People have been eating it for centuries, just not in your part of the world.
i dont really think its really disrespectful for people saying those things because they are actually curious, and just like them i was and i thought the exact same thing but im not being disrespectful.
This is Arab. It doesn't melt that easily. I think it's made intentionally that way to withstand hotter temperatures (don't quote me). It melts in your mouth instantly though. It's fun to eat and tasty, too.
To slimers and slime enthusiasts, our prayers have been answered. Actual food that is exactly like slime. (I have no idea where I was going with this comment but whatever. 😅)
I kept on thinking this would have something to do with longfil. For those that doesn't know Scandinavian cuisine, filmjöl or fil, is a cultured milk a bit like yoghurt in consistency but much more sour in flavor. It's typically eaten with cereal or müsli and yam or sugar in the morning for breakfast. It's been around Sweden since the 18th Century or something like that (when people probably put tunnbröd, a type of flatbread, broken in pieces into it, but people still do today). So what is longfil? It's a stretchy consistency filmjölk due to the bacteria used to cultivate the milk. It seems to have been around since the 19th Century. I thought for a moment, that, maybe, getting stretchy ice cream would have required a similar technique. But, apparently, no, this is completely different. Very interesting video.
There is this ice cream shop near me that has this most amazing almond milk ice cream and I always wondered why it was so super stretchy and soft. Ive never seen ice cream with that kind of texture, and I’ve also eaten different kinds of almond milk ice cream. But this ice cream has the most incredible, creamy, luxurious texture that is to die for. I’m not sure if they make it like that on purpose but this ice cream reminded me of it!!!
Idk why but this icecream seems like it wouldn’t be very cold. like you know when icecream is so thick I that it doesn’t feel that cold. I feel like that would be the same situation for this thing
I think I had this type of ice cream during a school trip to Rocamadour in France, I have never forgotten it. The texture I've never had before or again.

They work at ice cream kitchen when the school is off for years to learn how to make it. Once they master of it they open and run their own business if they don't change their mind when they grow up:) That tradition still continues. And once you taste it unfortunately you cannot eat any kind of ice cream elsewhere:(
Pretty sure those Turkish ice cream guys use this ice cream, so that’s how it sticks so well and doesn’t fall out when they always flip it around and troll you. Booza is actually a word in Arabic that means “Ice Cream”!!! So if you say booza in the Middle East they might think that you want ice cream! And Qashta in Arabic mean “heavy/full fat cream” which is used for deserts!
the stretchy ice cream as they call it was invented by a syrian guy back when syria was part of the ottoman empire. there were no borderlines. and the planet also grows in the northern mountains of syria. and the original restaurant is still working u can find the addres in google. ' bekdash ' thats the name
That is a common thing in my country (syria) they call it booza b keshtah that means ice cream and thickend milk you enter the shop and you see them making it in souk al hamidia
Hebba Snobar umm no its from turkey. And it has a different name. Also cultures have similarities bok aint nobody stealing shit. Like goddamn there are over 1 thousand different cultures you dont expect some to have similarities??
Tiffany Barnes I never said Turkey doesn’t have their version of ice cream. Booza is Arabic. Maras is Turkish. This video is talking about booza not maras. So yeah this is An Arabic invention. I know Turkey has their ice cream but when you say booza is a Turkish invention that’s a lie. So how about you look it up and we can end whatever this is, cause at least I knew turkey had their Version of ice cream and I’m not entirely cutting them out.

Booza is actually a word in Arabic that means “Ice Cream”!!! So if you say booza in the Middle East they might think that you want ice cream! And Qashta in Arabic mean “heavy/full fat cream” which is used for deserts!
Abeer Alrqibat Nice
in lebanon qashta is the original booza flavour
So Like.. Does It Melt?
Golden Vibes It's ice cream.
Yes but a lot slower than normal ice cream
Since it’s made with Sahlab As a binding agent. it makes it have a gelatinous texture when it melts.
That was my question

the stretchy ice cream as they call it was invented by a syrian guy back when syria was part of the ottoman empire. there were no borderlines. and the planet also grows in the northern mountains of syria. and the original restaurant is still working u can find the addres in google. ' bekdash ' thats the name
That is a common thing in my country (syria) they call it booza b keshtah that means ice cream and thickend milk you enter the shop and you see them making it in souk al hamidia
Looks like Turkish Icecream °^°
That’s cause it’s from Syria and Turkey steals shit and doesn’t give credit. No offense to u or Turkish people. Look up where booza originated
Hebba Snobar umm no its from turkey. And it has a different name. Also cultures have similarities bok aint nobody stealing shit. Like goddamn there are over 1 thousand different cultures you dont expect some to have similarities??
Hebba Snobar they are not even made the same way so before you talk shit research it boo. Cause its key.
Tiffany Barnes I never said Turkey doesn’t have their version of ice cream. Booza is Arabic. Maras is Turkish. This video is talking about booza not maras. So yeah this is
An Arabic invention. I know Turkey has their ice cream but when you say booza is a Turkish invention that’s a lie. So how about you look it up and we can end whatever this is, cause at least I knew turkey had their Version of ice cream and I’m not entirely cutting them out.
Tiffany Barnes never said cultures don’t have similarities.
