Vibration for asphalt compaction is ok as long as you know how compaction works, still a major part of compaction must be done in a static mode. To much vibration will not lead to higher density, after two or three vibratory passes it is better to continue with static rolling. A static three wheel roller has the best performance and is able to improve density on lower mix temperatures, a tandemroller compacts until 90 degrees Celsius, a static three wheel roller compacts still under 65 degrees Celsius.
