I really didnt expect myself to like this, but her voice and the generic sound and the great story caught my ear. I cant help but dreaming away.. What a girl Joan of Arc was though. But it just shows how far determination and belief can get you. Though she was burned alive, she was only 19 years old and liberated more of France then any king ever could.
She was not determined and her beliefs made her a Saint. She was canonized in 1920. by Pope Benedict XV. and her trial was revisited already in 1456., twenty five years after her heroic death on stake.

Fell in love with Elisa C. Martin through her Fairytale Album. Really love her voice and performance, which is very different from many of those operatic divas in metal.
Born lowly Jeanne d'Arc daughter of a tax collector and farmer, who at the time was simply expected to marry and fade into obscurity. Yet to this day no one speaks of the lowly peasant girl Jeanne d'Arc who spent her life wishing for a prince charming to come. We speak of a girl who became a legend, we speak of the peasant girl who became St. Joan of Arc, we speak of the legendary Maid of Orleans, we speak of a patriot who united her nation and defied the might of England in Medieval France's darkest hour, and turned the tide of the Hundred Years War
Ya the fact that we have a song and movies about her hundreds of years later means her sacrifice was not in vain. I imagine there are many other people who have laid such sacrifice but are forgotten by history. At least this one wasn't forgotten!
I have been looking for a song like this for so long. I'm glad I found it. Actually by accident when I was looking for a metal cover of Maid of Orleans by OMD.

Joan of Arc, a lowly peasant who did what no King of France ever could, unite the country and turn the tide of the Hundred Years War, and show that even though France lost battles they could still win the war
+snakes3425 Pity about that whole Welsh longbow thing. That's why the "two finger salute" is the European equivalent to the American middle finger; the French would cut off the first two fingers of the right hand of any English archer they captured. They had the moral high ground by not executing prisoners but said prisoners would no longer be able to use a bow capable of putting a bodkin tip arrow through a French knight's armor at 300 yards. English archers would wave their fingers at French armies before engaging as a threat, basically meaning "I can use a 200 lb draw longbow, I have armor piercing arrows, and very soon I'm going to kill you with these two fingers." Seriously, look up the Battle of Agincourt.
+Mike Shuba That's a myth, why the heck would they bother performing a complicated operation of cutting off two fingers of a man that could more easily just be killed. Also arrows could rarely penetrate full plate harness, though they were certainly deadly against ordinary infantry in Gambesons or Aketins, or those clad in mail alone. If the Archer had good enough aim you could penetrate the gaps in the armour. In truth it was the English use of dismounted men at arms and better infantry tactics at a time when mountain Knights had lost their effectiveness, as well as superior leadership that gave them their victories during the hundred years war, though the longbow and the men who used them should not be scoffed at as it required a great deal of skill and practice as well as strength to use it.
This is Elisa C Martin, the female singer who Dark Moor started with in their begginings. Alfred's first album with Dar Moor is "Dark Moor", released in 2004
I like the part in the middle where we hear her normal voice, before switching mid-verse back to her epic manly Power Metal voice! Everytime you see an androgynous metal singer, you tend to think "that's probably a European dude with long hair", but this is one of the few times it's the other way around!

@DamascusTer I'm probably gonna get flamed no matter how I label this, but it's neo-classical power metal and you can also add symphonic to the tag without going too wrong. But the root or "type" of metal is power metal - everything else (neo-classical, symphonic, fantasy etc.) describes the "flavour" of power metal - its lyrical and musical qualities or details.
