Hi again Olha, im about to start building Amatis model of the "Pinta" and didnt like the ships boat that came with the kit (in metal) so now Im thinking about making a new one, just as you have. But it looks tricky and small!
Your skills are equivalent to the late great Portia Takakjian, fashion model, children's book illustrator and master ship modeler. Also author of The Anatomy Of the Ship; USS Essex.
Hi there Olha, an absolutley beautiful little boat you have made. I had been trying to find someone making a model using the shell first process over a solid timber hull and this is the perfect video. I want to use this process for a miniature trireme, built almost exactly the way small boats like this are constructed. However, unlike the clinker built shell, how would you fix planks butted together without glueing to the solid hull.
Thank you! For normal planking, you will need to fasten a few frames and glue the planks to them (I usually install a midship frame and 2-3 in the bow and stern).

@olhabatchvarov, is that a sort of graphite drill or punch you made to simulate the nails @1:135-@1:43?. Ingenius!
This is graphite for a mechanical pencil
@@OlhaBatchvarov right. Did you use it to make the holes, or pre-drilled then colored them with the graphite?

Hello,
Congratulations, it's a great job.
You have a lot of talents.
You like the lapstrake (clinker-built) small craft? They are very light, strong, and seaworthy watercraft. And, as usual, you do a superb job of it.
Yes, I love these little boats, my very good friend builds them from mahogany - I tried them on the Dnipro River)))
