One of the problems with bullying is that no parent wants to think their kid is a villain. I'm dealing with suicidal thoughts and I can tell you that this show doesn't glamorize suicide, it's just show you how suicide can destroy everything around it and it make you think about that so I think that can prevent suicide
It doesn't glamorize suicide and I agree with what you're saying but have you talked to anyone about all of the thoughts that are roaming in your head?
Yeah I tried to see someone but the person was just like the counselor and after that I saw someone else but it didn't feel right you know ? The persone couldn't understand me and it hurt me more than anything else
Was really interesting watching adult males react too because we tend to see all these caring loving mothers type of stuff in media and seeing that guys also have sensitivity and feelings was nice
My school district sent out an email labeled "Reasons to Keep Your Teen From Watching 13 Reasons Why". This makes me angry because it needs to be addressed, not forbidden.
clara hui thing is, 13 reasons why prides itself in accurate representation of mental health/illness when it romantics and glamourises it, Romeo and Juliet doesn’t glamorous itself in accurate mental health, it is a play on tragedy in which studies themes, they aren’t the same in anyway
Not really the same thing. As others have said, students don't relate to it. The characters are set centuries beforehand with different problems and different lives. And most teens get bored with the story. It just seems satirical in the idiocy of the situation. 13 Reasons Why is more relatable and relevant
I really like these parents. my parents think suicide from bullying is a load of rubbish. they dont understand what we (as teens) actualy go through and the presure.
"I had a student come to me in tears because they were thrown against the lockers, I told them they needed to tell someone." DUDE THEY ARE TELLING SOMEONE. DIDNT THEY JUST TELL YOU? TELL THEIR PARENTS/GARDIANS AND TELL THEM WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!! BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW NO HIGH SCHOOL/MIDDLE SCHOOLER IS GONNA GO RUNNING TO THEIR MOM ABOUT A BULLY!!
(if he's a counsellor) then the adult can't tell anyone without the students permission. So, he has to get the kid to want to speak up about the harassment otherwise, he can't do a lot about it except just talk him through it. If the kid doesn't want to get others involved there's not much he can do about it.
I knew a girl who pushed someone I to a locker cause that person was bullying her. And it never happened again! The school did nothing about the bullying before, so she took it into her own hands. And made an example cause alot.of.other kids seen it happen and stopped bullying her too!
I'm in middle school and my school actually sent emails to all parents/guardians talking about the show, bc so many kids were talking about it in class. The email highlighted how parents should stay involved in their children's lives (nobody in our school has attempted suicide , but it's always safe to make sure the situation is in a good place)
Let's stop calling it bullying and say what it is, assault and harassment. When one adult does it to another we use these terms and sometimes it's punishable by law. We need to do the same with teens.
@Arc Clone Trooper Maybe what I said didn't come out right because we're almost saying the same thing. I just don't see why we need to use a different word when we're talking about children and young adults. Maybe if children were taught from a young age that bullying is really assault and harassment, and we used these words instead they'd understand the magnitude of the situation and the consequences it could have for the perpetrators and victims/survivors.
it allready is acept if u want to prove harasment in court u need to meet the standards the therapist was trying to reach with his questions to hannah which people get so offended by
@Trips it’s not. But the toxic masculinity she was talking about was that he was too scared to lose friends so he showed her nudes to his friends, because they kept pressuring him.
@@txbrah6200 interesting fact, Lex can hate all of them too. Implying that he's fine with Bryce or Monty simply because he mentioned the counselor specifically is dumb.
But the counselor was right... If she didnt say no if she didnt tell him to stop if she doesnt wanna involve the cops or tell her parents then there's no other option then move o
This was needed. My school had a suicide less than a month ago, and they're right. Everyone became so nice instantly, and now that the kindness is over no-one has even mentioned my classmates name. We need to make a difference about suicide prevention.
A kid in my first semester commited suicide, did your school just become kind of creepy and quiet? I remember during lunch it was just so quiet and depressing
It's all about conversation. One of the things I noticed in the show is that Hannah really didn't talk to her parents about all the things going on for her. It's essential that everyone feels they're able to vocalize they're feelings. Often people get the impression that their feelings aren't valid or they aren't allowed to feel sad. This needs to end everyone should be promoted to vocalize what's up and that they're not being dramatic.
I'm 13, and my school sent out an email warning parents. I watched it soon after. I have a friend who's suicidal. When I talked to her about 13 Reasons Why she said she cries whenever she watches it because she wishes more people would actually watch it and learn that their actions have consequences. I think not only is the show entertaining, but it also teaches kids that every action has consequences.
My dad wouldn't let me watch it on my own so he watched it with me and I am glad he did, it helped me truly understand what people go through and how to help other people.
I'm shocked to hear about the number of suicides each of these parents/teachers has experienced! I live in Italy and it is NOT common for a teenager to commit suicide. I think the US has a big issue to address...
DigEwolf of course kids and bullied and joked around with everywhere in the world, I just question why it leads so many more to a final gesture in the US
There’s some questions that disguise suicide as accidents and I’ve seen it happen in my country. So when you see the charts and the paperwork you don’t see the real number unless you do heavy research. They do this because they see it either a sin, or shameful to the family
we need more videos like this. the kind of conversation that really have an impact to society. and bullying is one of the major problem that teenagers dealing with today. good job.
These shows over the years have episodes trying to directly speak to regular people to discuss these types of issues and hope it starts conversations like you are describing, appreciate the comment. - FBE Team
by all means, i was bullied as well. i was talking about the discussion, if more people and parents more aware of how bad and how awful the impact of bullying is, then there will be more bullied kids that will get help. :)
For me, the show wasn't glorifying suicide, it was showing me how horrible it actually is and what it does to people around you. It reminded me that the smallest thing that you say or do can have a huge impact on a another person.
Sarah why do we still study it now then ? Surely we should be watching shows like 13 reasons why which depict situations that are going on right now , rather than reading a book about two people and their outdated and romanticised suicides
@@luvcaitlen9455 maybe your teacher is doing it wrong, you should be analysing the way it was written and what the author tried to portray, its being promote cause its shakespeare, who is known as an amazing writer who knows his way through words. They should have use a better work of him thought you should be READING books like 13rw for the situation going on right now if you want, not the show adaptations always screw it up and dont portray the situation like it was originally...damn this world needs to learn about reading
Dear everyone, If you're reading this, it applies to you. If you're not reading this, it applies to you. I know you've heard the same story over and over, but I'm gonna tell you again. Not one single person on this planet can dictate you're self worth, except you. You can't believe them when they tell you're a freak and slam you against a locker. You can't believe them when they say nobody cares about you and that you're worthless, because if they can't see how beautiful and special you are, they are truly blind. I'm not some cliche guidance counselor or something, I'm 13. I hope that you know how amazing you are, and that you're loved. So please, stay alive. If not for you, then for me. I hope this helped.
There are many depressive people who are open about their thoughts, this show tries to teach us that we need to talk but only a few really get it, i'm not saying there should be interviews or smth like that, just talk to those who need it. Watching this show while having a depression is anything but easy
EdgarToe Toe probably because they saw themselves in the teachers from the tv show. Although it might have been due to its sensitive and perhaps triggering subjects.
I had my dad read the book a number of years ago. My mom and I both have been suicidal at some point in our lifetime (my mom attempted when she was 25 and myself twice when I was 16 and 20). My dad has never lived with those thoughts so when I was 17 I had him read the book right after I finished it. I thought it was a way for him to somehow see into my mind in a way and it really helped him understand to a degree what I personally had gone through. Though neither of me parents have watched the show it has sparked talk in my house as well as in their work lives (my mom working in a church and my dad a software company). I think it's important to talk about these things
I sincerely don't understand why people think this show is glorified. The suicide scene itself is one of the most difficult things I've ever watched, they don't make it look appealing. We see the effect it's had on her parents, on Clay - the devastation that those who were close to her feel is palpable. It also raises awareness to a whole host of prevalent issues and as this comment testifies, it instigates discussion. The programme is so incredibly emotive and for me I think they've done well to show how the smallest thing can affect someone, it makes us reconsider the way we treat others.
Lli99CFC i didn't like it bc it seems like it was meant more to shock than to give a message. Knowing there's gonna be a 2nd season just reforces what i've said.
Ambir91 I think it has made people more open to express their thoughts, the show also displays how a lack of discussion/dialogue can be disastrous. Hannah felt she was alone, had no one to turn to as Mr Porter had let her down. Had he been more sensitive, and thoughtful, which would have represented progressive discussion then the outcome would have been different. I respect your view, but I disagree. Also we have many unanswered things from series 1 e.g what's happened to Alex, will Bryce go to prison,
c32 I can see that to a degree, and I respect your view, but you also see at the start of the series people saying that she was lying, still dismissing her after death. I think it shows how terminal her decision is and the devastation that Hannah's death implicates is very powerful. Her parents are a wreck, Clay is devastated, Tony looks after Clay because he knows that he isn't emotionally stable.
it's amazing how many people actually watch this with their parents. me and my mom watched this together, and it really made me see the world around me differently. I analyze the things I say to others in school and I pay more attention in the halls now
I do appreciate their honest opinions about the show. It has incredibly touchy subjects and for them to understand what people in our generation can go through is amazing. It was created to create a conversation and that's exactly what it's doing.
there's a kid who committed suicide in my school. Like they said, it sparked conversation. Just now they're talking about it. It's been 3 years. For the First year, we planted a tree. It was the Mark tree (Mark was the name of the guy who committed suicide). Every year, we would eat outside around the tree and his parents would give gifts. It's heartbreaking it really is. It's definitly affected all of us.
I was bullied pretty badly when I was in middle school and high school and I can remember there were days that I cold couldn't get out of bed because I'd just cry and cry. I can relate to Hannah when she goes to the counselor because it happened to me. "Move on" "girls will be girls" "boys will be boys." And I can tell you I was suicidal almost my entire senior year. People need to talk about this more. Bullying needs to be taken care of. Some people are born with thick skin and some aren't. It's awful to think that some people still think that bullying isn't a thing...
Coming from a former suicidal person, this show did bring awareness but it also glorified it as well. Telling a suicidal person to "be strong" and "you're stronger than this" isn't enough at times really, all you can do is listen because just listening to them pour their hearts out and being there for them as a shoulder to cry on as well as getting into counseling can do so much. I can't tell you all how many kids I have saved in my short 18 years of life. Kids around my age that are going through it. They tell me they are tired of hearing those words and they just want someone to listen so please. If you have a friend that is suicidal or a child please, listen comfort them and get them the help they deserve. I had a friend who listened and got me help and I still thank her till this day.
i love the fact that the parents that watched the series have completely understood how their children might be feeling. We all need to talk about this, and think about it, and understand the importance of it
The book is absolutely amazing and I made my HS aged daughter read it long before this came out. I haven't had the chance to sit down and watch this but I want to. The book didn't glorify suicide at all and as a parent you are responsible to talk to your children from a young age about things like this it's so so so important .
I was looking for this comment! How someone read the book long before this came out. I also want to watch this too, I haven't yet... The book was SOOOOOO dang good! I actually want to re read it, I have it somewhere in my room I need to look for it lol. It was such an amazing book I keep saying it I know but it was definitely one of the best reads! Ugh I hate how people are saying it "glamorizes suicide" the book didn't at all and I don't think, well from the looks of it, this doesn't either, but sad to say, people really think that it does. Did you get a chance to watch it?? I know you posted this comment like 4 years ago and I'm just now replying to it lol. So I'm just wondering what you thought of it if you got a chance to watch it?? 😊😊💕💕
absolutely agree. It is great that you've made parents to react to this. Of course there will be a lot of different opinions (even from parents) but it is so important to just have a few people thinking like that. Suicide, depression, anxiety, media and bullying and many more are problems. And we need to take an action, we need to at least talk about it.
Catalina Gomez Nah, not necessarily. She was blinded by rage, so much so she took her own life. She's a complicated character, and is still the protagonist, but she isn't a hero.
To the people who say that 13 Reasons Why "glorifies suicide" let me tell you this. The book, that the show is based on, has been out for 10 years! 13 Reasons Why has been around for a long time a DECADE people. For me at least it shows the reality and consequences it.
the thing with the show is that most suicide is from mental illnesses like depression and anxiety and the show doesn't talk about any of that. depression is so horrible and even though there are pills to help you can still feel horrible all the time and anxiety can make you worry so much that you can never leave you're house and make you insane
So now that there's a teens and parents perspective, can you do maybe an elders reaction? I think it would be interesting to hear what they would have to say. Certainly there was nothing like 13 reasons why back in their day.
Im a middle schooler and I watched a little bit of the show. People in my middle school think it's inappropriate but I honestly think it's important to know about whats going on.
If 13 Reasons Why may glorify suicide, then most of the works of Shakespeare definitely do. Romeo and Juliet specifically, is more like a gang war with a double suicide finale than a love story, yet it is one of the most popular works to be studied in High School literature classes. The topic of suicide is common in literature all around the world since literature began from Feng Menglong to Homer to Shakespeare, so 13 Reasons Why is nothing new. At least it looked at suicide as a theme instead of a plot device.
Justin McConnell while i dont think 13 reasons why isnt supposed to be watched, it does glorify suicide as a revenge plot to make the offenders of hannah feel guilty, which cannot be compared to Romeo and Juliet which is seen as a way of giving up on life or defying fate, and not thinking that suicide will solve the family feud and everything.
i went to a counselor at my school a few years back for help and i believe that scene where hannah reaches out for help is very realistic because the teacher that was there was literally doing a ton of other things rather than sitting down with me and being focused on what i had to say
This show had the opposite effect on me than what most parents think it does. I watched this show while suicidal and contemplating killing myself. After seeing the effects of hannahs death on her true friends and her parents was devastating and i would never want that for those who care about me. Watching this made me slowly escape my suicidal thoughts. This show helped me
Dunne N' dusted It was a show made to show consequences of actions but they showed it in a stupid way because it was practically just a revenge story modernised.Meanwhile Romeo and Juliet was a story about the Naivety of young love.
I believe the show is fetishizing suicide and self-harm, even though I myself haven't watched the show, I cannot because of how gut-wrenchingly disgusting the horrible excuse for a show sounds like it is
Did you intentionally not have tbe parents react to the scene in which Hannah dies and her mother finds her body? Would've been interesting to see their reactions to that particulair part of the series.
Emily Ribeiro Too much gore? They've had teens react to Outlast which is has WAY more gore than 13 Reasons Why. It would be very emotional to watch though.
It's a TV series EVERY PARENT should see...I mean look at the adults in the series...they have NO idea how our children feel, what they are going through....they don't even know the personality of their own child....so yeah you need to watch it!
I understand why they think it "glorifies" suicide but they're missing the point behind it that actions have consequences and most kids don't realize it some parents and school faculty think it's best to not mention because they don't want to constantly think that their kid is thinking about suicide there's a reason they say "communication is key" acutely try to open a dialogue with your kid you may not be able to be the friend but help guide them through the difficult parts of life The only real difference between two generations is that one is younger and the other is older but it's like they're at different frequencies simply put just try to understand
Kaysi Doran I'm pretty sure I know what death looks like. The time after your life ends is exactly like the time before it even began. Think about the time before you were born. There was nothing there. Death is the same.
I'm so glad this is starting a more open conversation. bullying is a huge problem now a day. I have a nephew who's in 1st grade and he was being not only verbally bullied but also physically bullied in class at some point the little boy who was doing got to the point where he chocked him ( several times) when my sister brought it up to their teacher, she dismissed it as kids playing and nothing was done to the bully. we, however talked to my nephew about standing up for himself even if he got in truoble.. I just don't understand why kids these days are so malicious at such a young age
noelia galvan Teachers are usually blind to what the students are doing in their own classroom. They tend to bat an eyelid and not intervene sometimes because they simply don't care which is why its up to the family to step up.
I'm glad Suicide is being talked about again, and I hope parents discuss this show and I hope some teens realize that their actions and words do hurt people. Sadly in my school we don't talk about suicide.
My school just handed out papers to parents about the show. I read it and gave it to my mom to let her know about the show without me telling her. She said the complete opposite from these parents. She asked me if I had ever watched it and she seemed mad so I said no "good. don't ever watch it". I was so angry at her. She has always been too scared to talk about it. When my parents found out about my self harm, they were angry at me and basically told me I was an idiot for it. they never tried to help and even now they're just too scared to talk about it. but it's real and it's happening in your own city or state or even school and you can't run away from it no matter how hard you try
Kathi Quinzel Thank you. I have gotten past the self harm, about 7 months clean. I still feel depression coming back sometimes but I've been able to get through it thanks to my siblings and the few friends I have left. I really appreciate your comment though! :)
Kathi Quinzel Marci Robertson thank you both! I do want to help other people as much as I can and with how you guys responded to this comment I can tell you that you will help other people with how encouraging you are! You have definitely helped me even if it's just a little bit :)
The problem is, for someone with clinical depression or anxiety, especially someone who's been suicidal before, this show could be dangerous. Depression doesn't happen so quickly and only to pretty girls; it's dark, it's rough, it's scary. It destroys your motivation to do even the simplest tasks, it sends you in a downwards spiral of self hatred and dangerous thoughts and you have to try your best to get through it. I understand the whole "this show is a PSA about suicide" thing, but it's not done right. It's done in a way that only appeals to people who won't get affected by these things, and it shows. Not all people with depression will have a problem with it, but many of us certainly do. It's driving young people to hurting themselves and attempting suicide, it's dragging already depressed people into the same dark place they fought so hard to get out of, and if people can't see these things and try to put themselves in our shoes, then the whole argument of "we need to talk about it, we need to listen to them" is quite hypocritical. Don't say you want to listen to us and then ignore all the reasons we give you as to why this show isn't helping us at all.
What great advice to tell a suicidal person.. it's your duty to stay alive no matter how miserable you are, because you might hurt someone else's feelings.
I've been suicidal at several points in my life. I've even attempted suicide. And I think the show did the opposite of glorifying suicide. It just pushed those thoughts even further away from me when seeing how it affected her parents. It helped me, because it really made me realise that suicide isn't an option. That it wrecks and havocs everything and everyone around you, especially your parents. So I really do not see how that is glorifying suicide.
Macy Adams Thank you ❤️ I just want you to know that I am glad you are here. Your presence is important, and the fact that you've fought and made it is truly remarkable.

(if he's a counsellor) then the adult can't tell anyone without the students permission. So, he has to get the kid to want to speak up about the harassment otherwise, he can't do a lot about it except just talk him through it. If the kid doesn't want to get others involved there's not much he can do about it.
+Kheilah V (T-Kheilah) I don't think he's a counselor though, i believe he's a history teacher.
I knew a girl who pushed someone I to a locker cause that person was bullying her. And it never happened again! The school did nothing about the bullying before, so she took it into her own hands. And made an example cause alot.of.other kids seen it happen and stopped bullying her too!
They teach Romeo & Juliet in every English class, 13 reasons why doesn't glorify suicide anymore than the things we are required to study.
Kennedy Mitchell Their deaths aren't nearly so graphic
Kennedy Mitchell 13 reasons why is more relatable.

Hugh Mungus Teenage romance is pretty relatable.
I'm in middle school and my school actually sent emails to all parents/guardians talking about the show, bc so many kids were talking about it in class. The email highlighted how parents should stay involved in their children's lives (nobody in our school has attempted suicide , but it's always safe to make sure the situation is in a good place)
Ariel Taylor same with my school
if 13 reasons why glorifies suicide than why do schools broadcast romeo and juliet????
Nelly_0528 CAN SE JUST GIVE THIS PERSON A ROUND OF APPLAUSE
Nelly_0528 Romeo and Juliet doesn't glorify it at all. It was an accidental suicide due to miscommunication.
Romeo and Juliet both committed suicide for love whereas Hannah committed suicide because she did not feel loved, she felt worthless
13rw is trash and romeo and juliet is one of the most famous, well written tradegies. they are NOT comparable :)
I would agree if you were comparing the BOOK to Romeo and Juliet, this show sucks
Let's stop calling it bullying and say what it is, assault and harassment. When one adult does it to another we use these terms and sometimes it's punishable by law. We need to do the same with teens.
Totally agree, no more "kids will be kids" bullshit.
Rebecca Totally agree. Teens aren't stupid they need to understand what they're really doing.

My "parents" were horrible.
I'm gonna say it.
The man with the hat looks like a cool dad
It's all about conversation. One of the things I noticed in the show is that Hannah really didn't talk to her parents about all the things going on for her. It's essential that everyone feels they're able to vocalize they're feelings. Often people get the impression that their feelings aren't valid or they aren't allowed to feel sad. This needs to end everyone should be promoted to vocalize what's up and that they're not being dramatic.
i think I cried the hardest when the mom found the body. I honestly cant imagine that. It was awful.

I'm shocked to hear about the number of suicides each of these parents/teachers has experienced! I live in Italy and it is NOT common for a teenager to commit suicide. I think the US has a big issue to address...
Antonia Lauren Garlaschelli I'm from the US and I completely agree with that statement
Glad to know someone is paying attention
The video shows Americans and the show also is set in the US so that's obviously why I said what I said.

Romeo and juliet was about suicide and I think it is romantized more and that is shown in high school so something to think about
mikey alvareZ romeo and juliet was written in the 17th century: suicide wasn't a problem back then. So yes, there is a difference.
Sarah What she said!
how the hell suicide wasn't a problem? people only learnt to care about each other in this century?
Sarah why do we still study it now then ? Surely we should be watching shows like 13 reasons why which depict situations that are going on right now , rather than reading a book about two people and their outdated and romanticised suicides

Not one single person on this planet can dictate you're self worth, except you. You can't believe them when they tell you're a freak and slam you against a locker. You can't believe them when they say nobody cares about you and that you're worthless, because if they can't see how beautiful and special you are, they are truly blind. Nobody is asking suicidal people what they think about the show.
Who tf just says, "yeah I'm suicidal, interview me!"
There are many depressive people who are open about their thoughts, this show tries to teach us that we need to talk but only a few really get it, i'm not saying there should be interviews or smth like that, just talk to those who need it. Do teachers react to 13 reasons why
Lli99CFC Please go to Google and search for Laxmi Agarwal. And if you are wise enough you'll understand what my point is.
Olivia Finkelstein I can see where you're coming from, but for large parts negativity/ negative perceptions of Hannah still exist after her death.
it's amazing how many people actually watch this with their parents. me and my mom watched this together, and it really made me see the world around me differently. I analyze the things I say to others in school and I pay more attention in the halls now
My parents have no clue that this show even exists and I really wish they did..
maybe you should tell them :)
@@icklesquish89 some parents, even if they don't know it, sometimes act as bullies and NOT ALL PARENTS ARE OPEN-MINDED

OR they STILL want to ignore it.
MiSs NiGhtmArE soo trueeeeeee!!!!!! listen and give them support. pushing them to 'stay strong' will most likely make them feel even more desperate

i love the fact that the parents that watched the series have completely understood how their children might be feeling.
I know you posted this comment like 4 years ago and I'm just now replying to it lol. absolutely agree. It is great that you've made parents to react to this. Of course there will be a lot of different opinions (even from parents) but it is so important to just have a few people thinking like that. Suicide, depression, anxiety, media and bullying and many more are problems. And we need to take an action, we need to at least talk about it.
"mental ilness is why she did it" THANK YOU MRS
YEAH THEIR WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH HER WAY OF THINKING
Catalina Gomez Nah, not necessarily. She was blinded by rage, so much so she took her own life. She's a complicated character, and is still the protagonist, but she isn't a hero.
I really hope season 2 will include the mental health side of things... because that's such a HUGE factor in suicide.
To the people who say that 13 Reasons Why "glorifies suicide" let me tell you this. The book, that the show is based on, has been out for 10 years! 13 Reasons Why has been around for a long time a DECADE people. For me at least it shows the reality and consequences it.
What's that got to do with anything? Perhaps the book glorifies suicide as well
@@bigbangtheorymanic exactly
man when i saw the scene of hannah in with her wrists slit it fucked me up. it's triggering as shit for certain people yk
the thing with the show is that most suicide is from mental illnesses like depression and anxiety and the show doesn't talk about any of that. depression is so horrible and even though there are pills to help you can still feel horrible all the time and anxiety can make you worry so much that you can never leave you're house and make you insane
So now that there's a teens and parents perspective, can you do maybe an elders reaction? I think it would be interesting to hear what they would have to say. Certainly there was nothing like 13 reasons why back in their day.
THIS!!!
Don't forget that Hannah's parents brushed off a lot of signs. Parents need to know what to look for.
Haha, I will take that as a complement!
I agree
i went to a counselor at my school a few years back for help and i believe that scene where hannah reaches out for help is very realistic because the teacher that was there was literally doing a ton of other things rather than sitting down with me and being focused on what i had to say
Really....some people critizised that scene because of course, they would say they would pay attention...but they really wouldn't....
Seeing her parents' condition after the suicide, struck me the most. They were the hardest scenes to watch.
When some of them started crying!!! 😭
Her parents's scenes after her suicide were so hard and heartbreaking to watch.
The locker monologue from Clay is the most powerful and best part of the show.
It doesn't actually "spawn more suicides" when they talk about it on the news. It starts conversations on how to prevent it
Karin KaPOW while completely ignoring mental health issues
Pepijn Vink not really they didn't ignore it. They talked about situational depression which HAPPENS. They didn't invalidate it.
"13 reasons why" cast react to parents and teens react to "13 reasons why"
i love how opened minded the people are on here, FBE did a great job choosing them
This show had the opposite effect on me than what most parents think it does. I watched this show while suicidal and contemplating killing myself. Teachers: 'Please do not watch 13 Reasons Why for it has depression and suicide.'

Chanello Marshmallow Romeo and Juliet was made as a tragedy.
And what was '13 Reasons why'? A comedy?
Dunne N' dusted It was a show made to show consequences of actions but they showed it in a stupid way because it was practically just a revenge story modernised.Meanwhile Romeo and Juliet was a story about the Naivety of young love.
I believe the show is fetishizing suicide and self-harm, even though I myself haven't watched the show, I cannot because of how gut-wrenchingly disgusting the horrible excuse for a show sounds like it is
Chanello Marshmallow u are absolutely right
Did you intentionally not have tbe parents react to the scene in which Hannah dies and her mother finds her body? Would've been interesting to see their reactions to that particulair part of the series.
Nina de Groot probably too much gore for RUclips guidelines, and super emotional for parents. It would've been another good topic though
How does slicing open your wrists and slowly, painfully bleeding to death glorify suicide?
KIRITO maybe the fact that she accused people of "killing" her but then thoses peoples suffers asf
KIRITO good question i dont understand either
Oh my god. I feel so bad. I'm so sorry. 😞
WOW,that's crazy.Maybe that kid saw violence in his house...🤔
