- I had run out of Dekaja Rocks, he had used Eternal Zero a fourth time and Brahma Sutra twice beforehand. Passing with Seraph was a misclick, I had pressed the wrong button. Just watch what happened when he used Brahma Sutra a third time. Could someone explain to me if that part of the message was supposed to come up or not?
As I'm typing this, I've decided to grind a little more and get Dekaja and Dekunda for Seraph and Cielo. Maybe after that I'll have an easier time.
Difficulty: Hard
1st Attempt (failed)
Data loaded from Digital Devil Saga 1.
Most likely a text string that wasn't implemented/not set correctly. According to the wiki, the third time he uses Brahma Sutra, it is unsurvivable. Notice it says "BURAFUMA3". It was most likely a string used to indicate that this cast of the skill will be your doom.
Btahma was so powerful it broke the game's code.
I managed to make out "Brahma Sutra" as the name of the attack
Somehow you made Brahma really pissed
I always thought this was intentional lol
Here's a random what-if: I feel like dealing with this attack would be slightly better if it was telegraphed by a unique Gathering Light-type ability on the first press turn of the round before using the attack (giving you a turn to either prepare or all-out rush, especially if you have an Impel Stone in the latter case)..
Heck, perhaps the first version of my hypothetical Brahmastra charge/telegraph ability could simply have had the "Light fills the area" text as its in-game name.
Similar deal with "Strong Light floods the area" for the second version and "Pure, intense light engulfs the area" for the third, which would be followed by a message effectively stating that time is about to run out. Visually, each successive "charge" would give Brahman increasingly bright glowing auras, with the third pretty much turning the entire battlefield white.
Using the "Light fills the area"-type texts to name these hypothetical "charge" abilities would allow the strings to be removed from the actual attack. The third use could still have had a text string that basically states _"Omae wa mou shindeiru!/You are already dead!",_ but it would be slightly less of a surprise with a foreboding warning beforehand.
Is any of this confusing to you?
Most to be honest, you just did what I tend to do: Overexplain
It's actually pretty simple, the game could have stated "Brahma prepares an even stronger attack" and then "Brahma is preparing his final attack" sure there's room for interpretation but there's little advantage to anyone in warning the player in a way that makes it overly clear, the fact that each strike is much stronger should explain everything... And if people are too slow to get that then be on them
Dammit Brah, why'd you have to go and break reality like that?!
OMG hahahaha i laught like 10 mins in that "wtf" momment xD omg great!
this happened to my brother, we were so confused.
Brahman just used a brahmastra here
Holy smokes what the hell happened there lmao
Brahman used a brahmastra a weapon that will destroy totality of creation
HOLY CRAPBALLS DUDE I SAW THAT TOO!!!
I was just like... WHAT THE FLYING FUCK WAS THAT I'M GOING TO DIE
And then I did.

datJyokyoHelp::jyokyohelp BURAFUMA3 PLAYER
Pure, intense light fills the area
Brahma Sutra
"Jyokyo" is likely the romaji for "status" (状況, jyoukyou) (Taken from the wiki)
This may be a wild guess, but: considering that the third use of Brahmastra (what the super attack is actually called) instantly kills the party...I wonder if it's an oddity that is somehow caused by applying 100% Instant Death status to the this variant of the attack?
That last part could be wrong, but I wanted to throw it out there.
(Edit: Maybe it's possible that one of the localizers accidentally pasted a line from the code into the text box that should just say "Pure, intense light fills the area", and no testers managed to trigger the third Brahmastra to catch it? Idk, just another wild guess.)
That is so cool, especially given the context of the fight
WHAT THE FU-- B00M!
