Thank you so much for posting this video, gave me the confidence to give it a go myself and its worked a treat! Admittedly my view wasn't as scenic as yours but the result was the same!
Great video, mate. Straight into it...no messing about, and really clear instructions. Just paid for a new one to be fitted. Wish I'd seen your video first lol
Great video and very clear, can this be done as a preventative measure, before EGR causes problems and are there any areas to be careful of when cleaning the EGR valve?
@@YoucandoitwithJules Hi again, I forgot to ask, which code reader do you use or recommend for the T5 T30, as I also have a Seat Leon 1.6tdi Tech and I`ve read somewhere that some code readers don`t work on certain engine systems?
I did mine the other week and I'd noticed a bit of a whistle between 2000 and 3000rpm (under load) so not sure if I've done something to it, although it runs okay, just seems a bit lower on power. I checked earlier and there's loads of oil under where the valve attaches, surely it shouldn't leak oil from there? I definitely put the o ring back on
Hi sorry no. Should be possible to work it out if you find the part online to see the shape and bolt hole format and they find it on your engine. You can do it 👍
Hi, I didn’t use a set torque. just by feel hand tight. If in doubt just do them up and then undo one to check and see if it feels as tight as when you first remove it, then you’ll get a feel for if you’ve done them up enough. You can do it 👍
@@YoucandoitwithJules I did it. It choked a bit, since I didn't clear the hose into the EGR, but after a few tryouts it worked out. Now I feel the power when I hit the pedal. It was completely dirty and stacked. The red EGR lamp from some reason didn't show up anything. You helped and now the lamps are inside me. Do you plan/have some DPF cleaning tutorial as well. Very interesting. Was about to pay for 'Carbon clean' service but will be doing this instead.
While you are check the cables are good to the valve. You can do it 👍
Yes i know I say ERG for some reason. Wife’s left hook obviously caused a bit of concussion 👍
I'll be trying to clean my ERG valve instead of paying for a new one........thanks for sharing this info👍
Thanks and check for the worn cables to the valve. You can do it 👍
Mines idling a bit lumpy, and stalls low speed, going to look at this and see if its blocked up like yours and hope for the best
Keep us posted on how it goes. You can do it 👍

Good to look at preventative maintenance. Just be careful and check the cables to the EGR for abrasive wear. You can do it 👍
@@YoucandoitwithJules Thanks for that, may take it out at some point and give it a good clean.
@@nealhawksbee6708 You can do it 👍
