I loved ice hockey from that moment, but back in the day it was impossible to watch NHL games in Spain. Last year I finally could make my old dream come true... I made a trip to Canada, and I attended a Calgary Flames' regular season game. I can't express the emotion I felt during the game.
@Danny P Creativity is definitely gone, but you can’t say those games make the same amount of changes as NHL. Every single menu and UI piece looks the exact same every year. There is no effort at all to change anything year to year; they even keep the same bugs in the game every year.

Yeah it looks good but unless youre willing to spend its not easy to get a good team, Im talking HUT and online obviously. They make it harder every year to make a free to play , competitive team. It’s amazing how, for the 24th consecutive year, defensemen just flop around like fish out of water. It’s amazing how bad the AI is in these games compared to real life.
Yeah I hate that, sometimes the players will just look at the stands while back skating and it looks god awful. What EA should do is they should compare their gameplay from broadcast camera angle with real life game and they should be changing their gameplay year after year until the game reaches a point where people or at least older people will struggle to find out what's real and what's game, it doesn't need to be in term of graphics but rather in terms of gameplay.

The crowd reactions and general ambient audio are a significant improvement over any previous version of NHL. Unfortunately, I honestly can’t point out even a single other change or improvement. And I’m not trying to be an ass about it. I really just can’t.

Can I just say, I literally know nothing about NHL, what the rules are, why players make specific plays etc. I'm from the UK and I'm a lover of football (soccer to some), but these NHL games surprise me with the quality of how they display the game. I'm genna keep having a little go on NHL 16, see if I begin to understand the game better along the way, the sport is so cool. I see some of the comments bashing the game, it's crazy what having no expectations, or even knowledge of NHL can do for you, because NHL 16 plays great for me, I'm just trying to understand the game more than anything else xD.
Remember guys, it's a computer game not reality, this game rocks. It's action packed and fast which I love. The only thing I don't like is the way big hits is allowed by the ref and that some scoring methods are like 100 percent idiotproof.

Well there is a reason why nhl 14 is not backward conpatible for new consoles. Because it was the best Nhl and people would start playing it again because of this bullshittery.
So... the last NHL game I played was 13, before that 09... let me tell you, there was a huge difference between these two games, but looking at 23, from what I know from 13.... damn, did they atleast do something about the face-offs? 😅 Last I remeber it was very hard nearly impossible to win face-off against AI...

Its amazing how many people in these comments seem unsatisfied when i think back to the hockey games i had when i was a kid they sucked so bad and we still managed ti enjoy them and when we got bored of them we went outside and okayed road hockey instead and most of you should do the same clearly.
Unfortunately since 2K bowed out of Hockey EA have been able to produce whatever the hell they want. It sucks to see games like Fifa and NBA get better every year and we get the same game year after year.

Older NHL games are higher quality. I play the old ones like 2003 and 2005. Many people seem to like 2004.
