Memories of 27:33 onwards where vehicles from the M11 left to join A14E and the A14W joined the M11 (I guess it was the A14W at the junction further down) fun times, people weren't sure what to do, even the trucker in your video was wondering if you were going to go up the side. It was a terrible road, truckers especially hated it, A14W to A14W but you had to ignore the first sign for A14 as it is A14E. Swavesey had the same problem, signs to the A14 but not the direction, until it was too late 😆 I came up to Cambridge and I never left!
Love the video. England is just lovely. One thing I notice though, is that there doesn't seem to be many trees, and homes are very close to the road. Very different from the states.
Try the New Forest in Hampshire some time soon, dear....trees galore all over the place - along with herds of deer and wild ponies. Or why not Savernake Forest in Wiltshire...lovely picnic sites in cosy little glades with only rabbits and squirrels and the odd badger to disturb your peace and serenity as you tuck into your hamper of goodies in beams of bright sunlight to the sound of nightingales in full throttle on a day in May.

As a very young lad mastering the art of reading....I think I was about 8 or 9....one of the first books I read was Frederick Marryat's "Children of the New Forest" set in 1647 during the English Civil War...wonderful description of the New Forest as it was then, but still today you see the same herds of deer and wild New Forest ponies wandering around all over, a bit of a problem for modern day drivers on roads passing through the woodlands. . Much of the New Forest is still the same as then and is protected by English Heritage and the National Trust and various other bodies preserving rural England. Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Beaulieu (pr. as "Bew-lee")...really lovely little towns full of charm and character.
Great training video for New Drivers, or people sitting their test. Was almost as good at taking driving lessons, without the cost of fuel, and hourly rate ha ha. But taught me alot.
I'm Going to England on the 25 of June this Year, and I'm Taking my Big Mustang With me. I can only hope for the best since this is the very fisrt time I'm Driving on the wrong side of the Road :-) Wish me Luck :-)
Stefan - I did wish you luck, and you seem to have brought "luck" with you, as since the 25 June the weather here in most of England has been really, really lovely - blue skies, plenty of sunshine, a balmy breeze and 25C in the shade. Driving on the left is a doddle - I know as I've been doing it ever since I was 17. - never even attempted to go over to the other side of the road and besides - it made negotiating roundabouts just a little bit tricky and I got fed up with blue flashing lights following me all the time.
Thanks Damian, My Journey was really great ! Driving a Mustang in England is truely a life changine event that i hope to do another time in the near Future. My Journey went from Holland, trough Belgium, and France. Hopedo n the Eurotunnel, wich for an American Car is a seriously tight squeeze ! the remaining of the journey went pretty smooth, with only i small 'accident' from someone wich is used to drive on the Right side of the Road !. I got lost arround Leicester but found the area i was looking for since i've been there before. I found out that i had a Cop car driving behind me for several miles, turned besides me, lowered their windows, and gave me the Thumbs up!
Then please make no attempt whatsoever to do any driving of a vehicle should you ever find yourself landed in the UK. Public transport here is always readily available for your convenience over here, be it by bus or train. You can then sit back, relax and try to ignore the fact that your bus driver is proceeding along on the wrong side of the road. He never ever gets booked for it.
i was born in Cambridge and never want to go back .i lived there for 63 years when my mum died the council took her house from me go out of the centre try old chesterton and arbury away from the university
I will buy a pint for the first person to correctly name all the various University of Cambridge Colleges we have passed during this road trip through the City of Cambridge and its immediate environs. And yes, I will buy the pint in one of the pubs we also passed on route - I will not name it here.

I used to do a lot of driving in Cambridge in my student days. It could take ages to get around the city centre with the traffic and dead ends!

Yes, everything is so different in the States....I know that because I have been there. It was so nice to come back home....to Cambridge.
I checked out videos from both the New Forest and Cambridge, both are beautiful, I just love the rolling hills.

This is considered green in most of the UK. More so now as well.
