  • Tuesday May 17 2022. Ely is a small city 80 miles north of London. Until the 17th century when the land was drained, it was an island surrounded by waterlogged fenland. About 20,000 people live here. Princess Anne was visiting the cathedral that day which may explain the men dealing with a Union Jack. The drive starts in Newham Street which becomes Nutholt Lane and turns into Lynn Road. At the end of that it turns into Minister Place and the High Street. That then becomes Fore Hill and at the end of that we turn into Lisle Lane. It then restarts in the unseen part of Newham Street which turns right into Market Street and briefly joins Lynn Road again continuing into St Mary's Street. Unusually local residents are able to put their town name on their cars as you can see at the end.
