  • Sunday June 26 2022 at 12.13. Putney is 5 miles south-west of Central London and has a population of about 77,000. Unusually for places in London it has fairly clear borders. Its north-eastern boundary is the River Thames and a series of open spaces border it to the west and south being Barnes Common, Roehampton sports club, Richmond Park and Putney Heath/Wimbledon Common. To the east is Wandsworth. The drive starts at the southern end of Putney High Street and makes its way through the shops to Putney Bridge. That third of a mile journey on a Sunday afternoon took 6 minutes - an average speed of about 3 mph. At the bridge we turn left into Lower Richmond Road and then right into Thames Place. We then drive along Putney Embankment with its boathouses and view of the river. The drive then restarts in Upper Richmond Road (also known as The South Circular Road) near Putney Methodist Church and travels eastwards crossing Putney High Street where the video started.
