Art tip: for a smooth paint distribution like in the background you can use a makeup brush, they have softer bristles, nice for blending and covering larger areas
Thank you very much for this video! I am very poor when it comes to my personal income, but I have a few friends who combine forces to give me large gift certificates to art stores during holiday season. I have been seriously considering some Schmincke Horadam gouaches as my big purchase this year, and I really appreciate the different techniques you demonstrated here. I'm still not quite sure I'll go for this, but the review definitely helps me feel less dumb for considering it. Would you be willing to do a side by side comparison video between these and Windsor Newton, M Graham, maybe Caran d'Ache or Holbein? I would love to see each of those brands just like this with four tubes laid out into color wheel and then small composition.
Thanks for your comment, I’m waiting for Holbein gouache to arrive and I’ll make a review of it. and yes I have planned to make side by side comparison.
This was great, thanks, Cecile. I teally enjoyed watching you mix the khaki, beige andol other neutrals, from just those three primaries. Do you have a video on that topic? I would totally watch that! ❤ Thanks, Cecile!
I do have two other videos about color mixing with primary colors: ruclips.net/video/-s7XZ3xZWts/видео.htmlsi=GQ3elPKVyJyWPOQy ruclips.net/video/rZCcA0Y2wGc/видео.htmlsi=asjHnef-VQi4OdIn
Great video, Cecile! What do you think about doing a side by side of the same motif, one with these super expensive gouche and the other with cheapest available kids' tempera from the supermarket? Would be interesting to see them after drying.
I don't like the Titanium for mixes, I think it gives stickiness to the mix, and there is a slight blue undertone to it. Or maybe it's just me being picky.
@@CecileYadro its really strange that the difference is so high. even in online shops like gerstäcker which is called geant-beaux-arts in your region something like the magenta cost 10€uro more for you. if you ever visit germany you know what to do :3
Thank you for demonstrating Schmincke Horadam gouache. I'm a bit confused though because It seems you were pleased with all aspects of its performance, but at the very end of the video you say you are not sure it's worth the price. Why not? You never gave a reason.
it’s a good gouache, with lots of qualities, but it’s too expensive compared to other brands as good but less expensive like Holbein or Winsor and Newton
💗💓💖 your videos! I only use S. Horadam gouache. I bought the tubes because I’ve been happy with the consistent and reliable quality of my Schmincke Horadam watercolors I’ve used over four decades. It wasn’t too hard to budget to buy a few gouache tubes each six months for a few years to have a good collection of colors today. And the paint is soooo saturated that a little goes a very long way. It is also nice to be able to use them like watercolors, since I lean towards more opaque watercolors anyway with my style.
You can watch the Holbein gouache review here: ruclips.net/video/Fk38RLbwex4/видео.html for a less expensive option.
I would love to learn more about how to mix colors, so please do make a video on that, especially for making neutral grays and browns too!
Good idea to focus on neutral colors, as the subject is really large! I add this to my schedule. Thanks!

Yes, I could, but I like textures in my paintings!
@@CecileYadro That's great, I love the painting videos
If you ever get the chance, Schmincke Horadam's Cadmium Red and Cadmium Yellow gouache are really wonderful, the colors are so rich and vibrant.
Thanks for the tip! but they are so expensive here...

@@CecileYadro Fantastic! I'm really excited to see that.
Thank you for your video. I love, love this product. So beautiful to use. Absolutely worth it. I wait for sales and build my collection. 😊
I prefer Holbein! less expensive in my country, but I guess it depends where you live.

Someone once told me that brown is "dark Orange" and that has helped me mix it. ☺️
Beware with brown, it can really get your colors muddy!
A video on mixing colors would be great 🎉 I want to get started with gouache and it would be very nice to have a video on mixing paint
I have one here: ruclips.net/video/rZCcA0Y2wGc/видео.html
Thank you for making these. You are amazing.
😊 Thank you!

yes to a video about color mixing
Alright!
love your very eductional channel....its amazing how many colors you get from 4 tubes!
Glad you like them!
I’d love to learn more about colour mixing too
Coming soon!
I definitely want a mixing video. You know what you are doing
it's coming soon!
Do you use Poster Collor kind of guache? Sakura or Pentel?
No I don't have poster color paint. It's really close to gouache, and I have a ton of gouache tubes I should use first!
I love your content!!
Thank you!
Interesting you chose Zinc white, rather than Titanium White ? any reason for this ? I get confused over which to buy.

Great video
Thanks!
Do you like to make a review for Japanese watercolor, Kuretake Gansai Tambi? I find that very mysterious. Thanks
I don't have this brand, but maybe one day!
i am confused that you payed so much when you are in france. here in germany these colors cost 34,95€uro which is 34,26 USD
We were just wondering how much it is in Germany!

Thank you, Cecile, for the clarification. Appreciate it!
Is it that much better than a less expensive gouache???????
It is much better than cheap ones for sure. Blending with an artist quality gouache is sooooo much easier than with Himi for example.
@@CecileYadro yes but this one is really expensive ! Which cheaper brand would you recommand please ?
