I took a squad of 6 of these guys with Lord Invocatus attached against a Sisters army. They certainly are threatening. I made a first turn charge against an immolator but poor dice rolling with lack of rerolls meant that I failed to destroy it (super unlucky, I know). That left me open somewhat for a counter in my opponent's turn. They did fair well against other things but even when I buffed the fnp, they are still pretty squishy and die relatively easily. That being said, it was my first time running this squad. I have another game lined up in a couple of days against Orks so I'm going to run them again then and see what happens! I should be able to make a better judgement on them after that.
Is it just me or do exalted Eightbound feel middling compared to the regular eightbound now? Comparitavely, they dont have access to d3 weapon, and its only 4 chainfist attacks vs 7 eviscerator attack from regualar eightbound. Someone please enlighten me, but unless you send them to bully vehicles to say using the strat. I don't see value in them. And no, i think banking on a failed leadship test feels too unreliable to be counting on since we have no way to influence the roll.
Fnp is no joke, especially with the blessing. Yeh its only 4 chainfist attacks on the charge, but they are still swinging 6 attacks hitting on 2s with the evicerators No fallback is a gamechanger when it works
I mean that’s fair my friend, but honestly I prefer to invest the points elsewhere. I don’t play big leagues or anything. But I find when I’d do play, I get most success out of unit diversity with dedicated roles

Cool models, good datasheet.... still sold out everywhere 4 months after release.
Is there any reason to even bother with regular eightbound now, they are only 25 points less...
The patreon bit at the end had me cracking up btw 😂
Eightbound get free scout move without needing Invocatus as well as a reroll wounds aura which is nice. I think exalted are better tho
@@BlogForTheBloodGod oh hell yea that reroll aura is lit ngl
Feels like we really want six… at least, I find you want six to kill vehicles in one go, because three tend not to quite do it on their own.
Bonus land raider review too!
Seems likenthe video cuts off early?
I'm tempted to take a squad of these chaps in my vanilla CSM list. Them, or some
Berserkers, which get the CSM faction rule.
I don't think you can take Eightbound in a regular CSM list... unless I missed something?
@@BlogForTheBloodGod Ah, no. I see now, that you can't. Ah, well.

I’m not seeing the benefit for taking the exalted boys. Not in any list I build anyway. But then again im running a forgefiend.
They are interesting, the 6+ FnP being able to go to 5+ is pretty big on 3 wound models
