15 year old is a lovely traditional whisky! Well balanced!

Finally got the chance to taste along with this review and there are so many lovely surprises in this whisky! For me, a big juicy cherry & maraschino liqueur note in the development, and the oak bitterness gives way to lovely rich caramel on the finish.

Just got through some of the 13 and that is a little winner. Very nice.

It's a kind of Glencaddam conundrum. The 10 is great. The 15 is better still but costs more. The 21 is the best. However, is it the best? In absolute point scoring terms yes but that's not always how we approach our whisky. Sometimes I'm right in the mood for some 'rough around the edges' 10 year stuff. Other times when I'm chilling with my Grandad slippers it's the 21. The 15 is bang in between the two. (I agree with you about the sweet spot around the 15 year mark.) Great review as always.

Good review Jason. The 10 is a very good young whisky, the 21 as you say very good at a very good price. I personally like the 15 best though, whisky made the way it should be. Also my sweet spot is around 14 to 18 yrs. Slàinte Jason.

Well, I liked the 10 year old three or four times when I purchased it. The 15 impressed me, but I only ever found one bottle after Ralfy put it on everyone's radar, haven't seen it since... The 14 was just okay to me, nothing special. The 21 peobably would cost far too much even if I could find it...

It's very pleasant but just doesn't wow me at all. Tastes too much of tired casks too me.
