Son, there's not a challenge on God's Earth that can't be overcome by an American. I truly believe that.

I love that Milligan touches Bulo's hair when he shows Simone what's in the box. That was a nice little callback to their conversation about hair washing in the 2nd episode.
The significance of the episode title is touching. The O. Henry story "The Gift of the Magi" perfectly matches Peggy's gift to Ed, where she sacrifices her own chance to run, but which comes too late to be useful; and Ed acknowledging that Peggy was right about running, which also comes too late to be useful. And I like how Virgil the hitman serves as Charlie's guide, and it all ends in flames, referencing Virgil the poet serving as Dante's guide to the Inferno.
The first 3 seasons of this were filmed in my hometown of Calgary, Canada. I used to work at the hotel that Kansas City are staying at (the exterior shots; interior is a different set). And they filmed a scene where my grandma was staying and she got to meet Ted Danson, which puts me 3 degrees to Kevin Bacon.
FARGO DAY! FARGO DAY!
🎉🎉🎉
Such a bummer that the last season is so lame.
$700 is what Janet Leigh paid in Psycho for *her* new car. That's not a coincidence.
speaking of coincidence, I just watched someone react to Psycho an hour ago and they showed that specific scene...
I think Allan Dobrescu, as Bear's son Charlie, really shined in this episode. He got to show so many emotions..excitement at getting to join in the family's business...fear at facing the dreaded Butcher of Luverne...chagrin at failing in his mission...
But the best was his & Noreen's shy flirtation scene. Wouldn't they be an adorable couple in a different world?
And btw..for those of us who lived through the Reagan Administration, Bruce Campbell did a pretty good impersonation.
The saccharine delivery of patriotic lines, the nod/head tilt when he couldn't answer Lou's question..and they had him really resembling him right down to the cheeks (Reagan always looked like he had round little patches of rouge on).
And his speech cadences were very close.
I was very young then but I remember it well.
Can't wait till next week!
Much love from Kentucky.

I never noticed Molly's Crayon drawing with the spaceship before. So, that means she's seen them too.
It's been a while, but I think it was a sunshine and the mom's coffee cup left a semicircle stain that turned the sun into the spaceship.
ted danson and kevin bacon were both in 'shes having a baby' 1988, so there's your connection to bacon :)
This show was my wife’s and my first introduction to Jesse Plemons. Of course we’ve seen him in tons of stuff since, but I will always know him as “The Butcher of Luverne”
@TBR Schmitt Danson fun fact: I showed up to bowl in a bowling alley scene for a TV show that Ted Danson was on; turns out randomly I was wearing the same exact shirt Ted Danson was wearing (I got mine @ Target, lol!) so they made me change it
One thing I've noticed after watching the discussions is that Samantha especially has a tendency to accent adopt. Her "yeahs", "ohs", and "okays" slightly pick up up the Bemidji broad almost sing-song vowels.
As someone who has spent most of his life in Minnesota, albeit in Minneapolis, it is definitely noticeable.
I was on an extended work gig in Oklahoma City with a colleague and he was an accent adopter and within a week he had a pronounced nasal twang and started dropping "y'alls" into his normal speech.
If you want to see more of Bruce Campbell and Jeffrey Donovan (Dod) together , you should watch the serine "Burn Notice". They make a great duo together .
Noreen is definitely way emo but she is so cute! Weirdly wholesome despite her bleak outlook lol
Hanzee is such a cool character
It was bugging the heck out of me where I had seen Christin Milotti before when I realized that she was in a couple scenes in the Sopranos as Johnny Sack's daughter.
Oh shit! You’re right. She was the anorexic one.
She was also the "Mother" on How I Met Your Mother
And the USS Callister episode of Black Mirror with Plemons
She reminds me a little bit of 90s Jennifer love Hewitt.
She was also "Abby" the writer in an 30 rock episode
“Emo cashier” 😂😂😂
You can see why Ed fell in love with Peggy. There's a basic innocence and honesty to her even though she's totally insane. Her selfishness seems purely due to her mental illness rather than actually being selfish per se.
I love these reactions, I can't believe it was 8 years ago I first watched this but I'm loving the feeling of first time viewing again through both your eyes. Cannot wait for the next episode, the 2nd half of the season is going to be absolute fire, you'll have plenty to discuss. 😁
Love Ed n the insane Peggy!!
N Hanzi is the MAN!!
12:23 "oh, he just bought some meat!" 😆
Bruce Campbell perfectly captures Reagan's uncanny fakeness.
17:13 "ohhhh!" 😮
He sounded the same in ash versus evil dead as in the speech
I've loved your reactions to this series. It makes me want to see you guys react to the FX series Legion, which actually shares a couple cast members from this season. It's a delightfully trippy show with some great performances from Dan Stevens, Jemaine Clement, and Aubrey Plaza. Just thought I'd throw it out there!
Lmao
"What happened to her?"
Uhhhh well she did just barely survive a shootout and witnessed a grizzly death by cleaver.
The next episode is my second favorite. Can't say why but it's very ensemble-y. One of the side characters steals the episode tho. I'm almost sad for you guys that you're halfway through. 😢
HAPPY HALLOWEEN 👻🎃🤡🥸🥸👽🦹🐈⬛🦇
The Actor of Ed is such a good actor. He was such a scumbag in Breaking Bad but in Fargo I was rooting for him.
Couldn't wait for you guys to see Bruce!
Lol he literally looked and sounded just like Reagan
When you get to the final episode, remember what you said in the outro about it feeling like a business.
Great cliffhanger ending!
I've been rewatching S5 of Breaking Bad and it is strange to see Jesse Plemons not play the world's most anodyne, "pleasant" psychopath.
Todd is stuck in my head for eternity.
she passed out from seeing that! LOL
'....them knowing Rye was dead....killing him I mean.'
Season 5 is a must.
Is the person narrating at 1:51 Bruce campbell aka ash from evil dead?
Yup, and he plays a familiar political figure here.
Hello 🙋♀️
Imagine how good that butcher shop smelled while it was burning.
I hope you guys find your way into watching the FX show "Rescue Me." I think you'd absolutely love it. It about firefighters after 9/11. It's a drama/comedy starring Dennis Leary.
Awesome :)
Yesterday was my 33rd birthday, I got an X Wing Lego Star Wars Set, Stormtrooper Set, and a 800+ piece Darth Vader Bust.
Please do 2 episodes in one video...pleeease
That would be good but also bad because it would be over so much sooner.
I never understand why people want this.
Please give the Star Trek franchise a chance. 🖖😌
NEIN
Yes please. 🥰
We can always dream, but I seriously doubt that’s ever going to happen. And if they do, they’ll probably only focus on modern Trek (2009-present), which is total shit.
No
Crazy. FAR too many episodes
Of course it would be a head it's not a romantic comedy and it was right each of them was killing each other
Dodd is awful, but I like him more than Lester. The latter kills two wives who didn't see it coming, where as Dodd is at least honest about who he is and doesn't compromise. Hanzee is my favorite, but I also like Bear and Mike Milligan. There's more people I like than I don't like in this season. I think the typewriter guy was my least favorite, but that's it. Everyone else from Ted Danson to Rye Culkin to Lou and Bear's son and the cashier are all very likable characters.
Awwwww. Still no “and this is my horse fritz.”
There is no god….
Ted Danson, Whoopi Goldberg, Demi Moore, Kevin Bacon
May I suggest skipping straight to Season 4 after finishing this one? Given that it delves more into the background of the Kansas Ciy mafia, it might be more beneficial to watch it while you still have a relatively fresh memory of this season. It shouldn't impede with your eventual viewing of Season 3, which is the show's most standalone season (so far); its connection to any of the other seasons is fairly superficial.
But a certain character from Season One shows up in Season Three.
@@Madbandit77 That was the one connection to which I was referring. I doubt they'll forget who that character is in the meantime.
Please check out the LEGION series, it’s made by Noah Hawley the creator or Fargo. I think I like the LEGION more than Fargo which is probably top 3 favorite shows. It’s marvel done right
Emo cashier was your best comedy line in awhile 😁
The Indian took the guy he was staring at after he killed one if the brothers
