@@trives99 I would say mini coopers from 2014 up are very reliable…BMW started making the Mini themselves from this year …on the BMW 1 platform….for me who has owned Mini coopers pre this year …that really were not …there was a huge improvement on many fronts on the 3rd Gen Mini …😁

This always helps me a lot and making sure that it has everything in it. Remote Start, Navigation System, Bluetooth, And Apple CarPlay. Gonna make sure that has everything in it when I get myself a used Mini Cooper S Hardtop with 4 Doors!

Great video. Can you set the ambient lighting to yellow for example but the car always remember that? I’d like to set the ambient to be yellow all the time. The car seems to revert back to blue every time I get back into the car. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated
Driven all sort’s in my time (AFV’s - 12 Speed Twin Splitter’s) and I like the DCT it’s nicely intuitive with accelerator’ only as long you respect how to use it effectively or you’ll need deep pockets 🎉
One note about this DCT (Duel Clutch) that Mini/BMW don’t explain in any tutorial: if during extended stops (traffic lights etc) using foot-brake on temporary stops in D/R is okay (disconnects clutch’s fully) , but if you (like me use handbrake, put it in neutral always’ or the clutch will drag when you remove foot off the brake, the DCT set’s the clutch’ as if your in preparation (riding clutch) for a takeoff or hill start so push stick (without thumb lock) forward into N as you roll too or stop, when ready to go.. normal procedure for take off (foot-brake > (thumb-lock) Drive > accelerate), DCT doesn’t like crawling (feathering) gas pedal in traffic slower than (1st gear) O-5/6mph !
Remember.. it’s not automatic ~ it’s a manual with thee characteristics of an automatic, and should theoretically get a good lifetime out of a DCT ~ as timing chains will last long!
Lastly, If you’ve been using Launch Control before the mandatory minimum 30mile warm up period & not leaving it 5min too cool down before another launch > just forget all of thee above..(deep pockets)🎉🎉..😂

Yes, it’s a protective film from the factory. We remove it at the time of delivery.

How can you move items within the split screens? Like say I want radio info left to my map and something else to the right of maps.
Would LOVE to know how to get a USB port to shuffle??? Not even the dealership can answer this question. My shuffle is checked on but nothing shuffles???
Twice I've seen a red mini icon appear on the small Dashboard, would you know why this happens. Also like when I'm on the highway I sometimes see a green icon appear with 2 lines and a car sideways in it, first time I saw it the dealership said it was because the street was icy, but it's now summer.

We bought our mini out in Spain and it’s American/euro spec. It doesn’t se like we can activate apple car play and the mini app we have isn’t connecting. Any advice?
On the 2020/2021 mini you could set the ambient lightning to automatically change colour every couple of seconds (rainbow) while you were driving. How do you do that on the new ones?
Dunno if you already figured it out but you hold the ambient light switch for a few seconds and it will cycle through all the colours.
My 2013 rolls down the window when you hold the button too!

Daniel, how do you set the main ambient color? And can you set it to cycle through the colors?
Hi Terry!
There is a toggle switch in the headliner near the map lights. 1 switch over from the center on the right controls the ambient lighting. To cycle the colors non stop press and hold it forward until it cycles through all the colors then let it go. It will continually cycle through all the colors after. Or just tap it until you have selected the single color you like and leave it on that particular color.

Please explain how to switch between two different mobile devices which are connected- one is via Bluetooth only and mine is connected via CarPlay - the CarPlay icon doesn’t always appear unless I restart my phone each time I want to switch between my hubby’s device and mine 🤦🏼♀️
Make sure you have the latest iOS installed on your iPhone. To switch devices go to the com section. Then manage mobile devices. Finally select the phone you want paired.
@@DanielHoward1 When I do that, it pairs via Bluetooth and does not automatically connect via CarPlay 😢
What if your Mini is completely dead power wise (dead battery) and you need to put it in neutral?
Under the shift gaiter there is a yellow tab that you can pull (lightly) so it won’t break and that will allow you to shift it into neutral.
Any idea when the mini electric will get a 200 mile range?
They have not told us yet for the SE. The 2025 all Electric Countryman will get the 200+ mile range 1st.
2024 is what I’m seeing on yt but dealer not confirming.
Can I connect Bluetooth with an Android phone?
Yes you can!
You just can't use Android Auto, MINI only supports Apple Carplay.
