IRON Series Finale 30 Min Arms, Abs and Core Workout | 30

  • Finishing the Iron Series with my favourite workout of the series!
    This workout was everything that I personally love in an arm workout! A mixture of dumbbells and some bodyweight, the focus on FULL RANGE strict movement patterns from the curls to tricep exercises whilst SOFT straightening of arms when needed so no severe jolting. The mind to muscle connection is a major part of curls and extension at the elbow for me… during curls I imagine the bicep muscles shortening, triceps relaxing to perform the curls; the triceps shortening and contracting for those dips, skullcrushers and pressing.
    If you find any of these movements not particularly challenging by the last few reps, this means you could lift slightly heavier, or you may simply need to keep those elbows more steady in curls, elbows closer during tricep press or lower dumbbells that bit further during skullcrushers.
    This logic applies to the entire Iron Series.
    There may be some movements you know you can lift heavier in so a perfect opportunity to revisit this series and challenge yourself further! Or pay even more attention to how you perform the movements. Nearly every single movement we can make less challenging… or more challenging! Learning your body and how to manipulate your positioning can maximise output per rep!
    And onto this workout!! The final!! It’s going to be fun!!
    For this workout you will essentially need some dumbbells and your mat!
    For dips, you can either use a chair for bodyweight dips or dip bars. Alternatively, if you prefer, perform Diamond Press!
    The timer will be on for a majority of the workout 60 seconds per exercise with 30 seconds rest inbetween!
    Once we hit the abs & core, the timer there will be 60 seconds followed straight into another exercise for 30 seconds. There is no specific rest but always take those few seconds to get into position!
    The abs and core exercises are paired together and each pair is performed for 2 sets!
    The dumbbells I am using for your reference are 2 x 12.5kg for triceps and 2 x 8kg for biceps!
    I am using dip bars for the dips but you can absolutely perform dips on a chair, or even tricep press as an alternative! I will demonstrate chair dips as the alternative on the screen!

      It took me six months to get through the series, mainly because my dog had health issues and my workouts got derailed for a while. Although it wasn’t the reason I started the series I’m now working to get stronger so I can carry her around easily. So the ending was extra special to me ❤

    Just finished my 3rd full round of the Iron series. When I first began, I was coming back from a very long break due to a painful situation. I started with 5 and 10lb bells, and many times just bodyweight. I just finished this 3rd round using 25lbs as often as possible, and when CG used 8.8, I used 10lb! I did my best to match her weights, as long as I had them. I just got a pair of 30's yesterday and will begin round 4 of Iron this coming Monday. I cry on this ending every time. I invite my labrador come in for pets while CG's pups are getting their pets. Caroline, you will never know how grateful we are for you!

    Lol, the dogs at the end is the perfect finishing! So cute. This was such an amazing series and I'm gonna start over again starting tomorrow.     I JUST FINISHED THE IRON SERIES!!!!!! I’m trying not to cry tears of joy in this gym 90% full of men 🥲😂 Thank you thank you!!! Can’t wait to take my measurements but mostly thankful for you Caroline & for the strength, health, & confidence I have regained getting back into your work outs after a year of not doing well mentally or physically.     Hey Caroline! I finished this workout series just now, the date is August 6, 2024. This particular workout was so good, my fingers are struggling to type for real haha but I just feel so proud of myself completing this series that I had to share my experience. You've made me one strong woman. For someone like me with gym anxiety, you made sure to make these workouts even more effective than working out at the gym. After every iron finisher I had tears of accomplishment and that made my day. I went from 78 kgs to 71 kgs through my journey of Iron series. My heartfelt gratitude to you, Caroline! Also, the surprise at the end gave me happy tears, little fur babies have my heart

    Oh my goodness where to start Caroline ? It was ( it is ) an amazing Series !! I enjoyed every workout , the music , the set up . Thank you Caroline !!     Did this series 3 times. Twice pregnant during second and third trimesters and now once postpartum. The simple moves allowed me to modify easily. Thank you Caroline! My second baby recovery was 1000% better and I have you to thank!!

    I don’t think I’ve ever felt so strong! Coming off of some health issues, the best day I’ve had so far physically, was 30g of protein a meal + a snack, and this series! Thank you so much Caroline!!! 💪🏻 🔥

    Thank you Caroline from the bottom of my heart. I am so grateful that you have shared your Iron Series with us on RUclips. I just finished day 30 and am going to start again. I found your program when my beloved best pup friend Rebecca was killed. I am lost. I used to walk with her for hours on end each day. She was a very energetic German Shorthaired Pointer. I started your Iron Series to take up some of my time and to help me with my grief. I am so thankful that you brought your doggies out for a hello. It really made my day.       Hi Caroline!! That is amazing strength! I am a guy and training this video I could only manage with half kg dumbbells throughout and could only do 4 bicep curls with half kg dumbbells after which my arms just gave up! 😟

      @@rupinjeremiah9589 Hi Jeremiah, I have a selection of dumbbells but I usually halve the weights of Caroline (especially for the arms where I use a maximum of 5kg). I’m progressing on the legs (2/3 of Caroline’s weights) although I can never do the HIITs as fast as Caroline ! I found her 9 months ago and my body has already toned up so quickly !!! She’s really a level above ALL RUclips coaches. Happy workouts 👍🏻👌🏻

It really means a lot to me coming from such a strong person! 😊 I really want to be strong, with self esteem and confidence! I will work hard at this. I will try it again with half kg and see! When my mum lifts a 15 kg potatoes bag and puts it on the kitchen table with just one hand I feel so demotivated. I wish I can do that even with two hands.

    This. Was. My. FAVORITE SERIES! I loved absolutely everything about it and really hope to see another like this soon.
    I always felt like I got hard work done, yet in 30 instead of 45 minutes somehow. I feel my own cardio, so I loved having an extra strength day in there. I progressed big time in weight too. This was fantastic. Thank you!!

    I cried a little bit when I finished this series. I donno if it was the dogs at the end or realizing that I really did this whole 6 week program... But I did it with a newborn baby and with all of life's challenges. It proved to me that I really am strong and can finish anything no matter how hard.

    Little short story: I just recently separated from the military to pursue my degree in physical therapy. I was constantly busy with school that I couldn't get to the gym. I decided to RUclips workouts from home and stumbled upon your iron series. I thought this could be easy. And, let me tell you. You whipped my bum into shape during the duration of the series. I enjoyed and saw and felt the difference. I appreciate this series and look forward to more in the future of this caliber.

    This series was phenomenal Caroline! I cannot believe the strength I feel, how much more I was able to increase the weight, and the additional muscle definition!     I am 48 years old and haven't lifted weights since high school. About 6 months ago, I decided to add strength training to my cardio and core workouts in order to better prepare for this whole menopause thing. About 6 weeks ago, a friend mentioned wanting to try this series. Although I was overwhelmed by it, I decide to try it, knowing I could modify exercises as needed. I finished today! I feel stronger all over--especially on my lower back, which needed it. I even lost a few pounds. Thank you for the challenge, and I look forward to going through it again...hopefully with fewer modifications and heavier weights!

    Day 30 done! Today I used 8 and 10 lbs dumbbells. These were such a great workouts, I’m pretty happy started and finished it because I now I can see some progress in my body. My upper body for sure is stronger and I can see now some definition on my arms and shoulders. I’m going to do two series of one week each one during the next two weeks and then I’m going to start this serie again on January. I started this serie on October 3rd and finished it today December 3rd. It took me 2 extra weeks because I had to stop for two weeks for traveling reasons. 🎉 Thanks Caroline, I’m so grateful for this serie and your RUclips content. 😊

    March 7 2023. Day 30 done. Today I used 12 and 10 lbs dumbbells. I started it on January 5th and took me 2 months to finish it after some trips and extra resting days. My upper and lower body is looking stronger than ever. In the active day I added an upper body workout from the Fuel series.     I almost cannot believe that this program is ending SOO soon😭 I just loved all the workouts Caroline! Your creativity and authenticity always shines in every single one of your programs! We girvanators are too lucky to be able to train with such an amazing trainer like you. I just wanna thank you again for saving me in my exam times as it is again become quite stressful these days..
    Also please suggest a week of training post iron in a playlist form so that I would be able to train without much thinking as I'm giving my exams right now😌

    I completed my first series of Caroline workouts. I've been strength training for 4 years now. I have used numerous trainers but Caroline takes the cake. Thanks sweet lady for these wonderful workouts. Epic heat is next on my list. Never ever have I felt so challenged by a trainer as I do with Caroline. She has also motivated me to start taking walks . Nothing but ❤️ for all she does.

    We've reached the end of six weeks. I would like to thank Girvan for all the effort to deliver such a beautiful work. Despite having only two 5kg dumbbells I focused on performing the exercise and managed to see a gain in lean mass mainly in the glutes and quadriceps. Ah, I also managed to do the bulgarian without support, I was very happy, because I have a flatfoot and my balance is less than most people. Thank you so much Girvan, you have made a difference in my life. 💕🏋️‍♀️💪🙏

    These workouts have been tough but worth it. I’ve sometimes supplemented with other exercises to make sure I hit every body part at least 2x a week. Every 2 weeks I took a week off and lifted heavy for that week to keep size. Caroline is great. This is real personal trainer style where you get nice and sore because the muscles are working hard, without necessarily using heavy weight. But it sure feels heavy enough when you’re doing it. Thank you so much for putting these on RUclips, Caroline. You’ve helped many thousands of people to get and stay fit.

    A little late, but just finished this last workout and can officially say this is my most FAVOURITE workout program I’ve done, ever! Love that it’s low impact and have had some serious muscle gains. I just can’t do all the crazy jumping around anymore, so thank you for this! You rock!

    So happy to have finished the 30 days. This was an amazing program and i can't wait to repeat it! I'm turning 65 this summer and I want to be in the best shape ever! I started the program with 3 and 5 pound weights. I've now added in 8 and 12 pounds. Feeling so much stronger and more fit. Thank you Caroline!

    Just completed the Iron Series = Wow! This was a great challenge. I was able to progress each week and by Day 30 I am stronger, more toned, and feel great! Almost 50 yo and needed to take my workouts up a notch...I got what I asked for. So grateful for this program.

I'm completing this right after doing EPIC I so I'm now 16 whole weeks in without missing any days and I could never be happier at my progress, my body, my mental health.     Day 30 and final day COMPLETE! Thank you God and Caroline 🙏🏾 I burst out crying when the ending came up on screen. I used 5, 8 and 10kg for these. I am so happy that I did this and followed through as well. Today is Christmas Eve and I'm looking forward to travelling to Manchester with my family to unite with my extended family for Christmas.     Finished Iron today. First programme I have done in ‘real’ time, usually takes me longer because of running and other cross training. Loved the 30 minute, and simple, workouts.     Hooray! The Iron series flew by so quickly! I enjoyed every workout of the series, especially loved the time protocol-60 sec work, 30 sec rest mostly, very comfortable and allows focusing on the movements and brings muscles to exhaustion! Definitely going to repeat the series in the future, with heavier weights (as soon as I have them in my possession)! I'm even glad that I had limited weights because it made me focus on good form rather than on bigger weights, so it'll be more high quality movements next time I do these workouts. And yes, I do love Bulgarian lunges, hip thrusts and basically all those movements that I used to avoid earlier! Thanks to you, Caroline! I guess, practice makes us fall in love with things)

    A few months back when I bought a set of adjustable dumbbells, I set a goal of being able to use the heaviest 10kg/22lb weights in my workouts. Toward the end of this series, I finally started using them! It took a bit longer to get here than I wanted and I'm not yet as comfortable with this weight as I'd like to be, but working on this. Considering that I spent much of the past year leaving behind a decade-long eating disorder after things reached a crisis point, the changes in my body and mindset have been amazing, and I'm so happy I found these workouts at the right time.

    This workout was wonderful! Did it with my husband and we both had so much fun with it, though it slayed us.     Thank you Caroline. Going to do this tomorrow but here are the progress / results so far :
    - Did the IRON series with the Complex, Circuit and Beastmode series (without the HIIT though)
    - Commited to doing 1 hr / session
    - Improved endurance
    - Increased weights used
    - Improved form
    - Able to “feel” more when performing the movements
    - Less reluctance to exercises that are not my favourite
    - Had fun & found a commumity here! 😊

    Just finished Iron today and cried a few happy tears!! I was in the military before I had children and I developed a negative association with exercising. I HAD to force it and it often wasn’t enjoyable. Nearly a decade and 3 kiddos later, with multiple failed attempts at other programs, I can officially say I LOVE exercise again and feel healthy + strong. I’m going to repeat again!!

    I loved it. I've started it and in the middle needs to stop for family health reasons. However the lasts 2 week I've been constant. Now I want to go back and do it all again.
