This is what makes the ADAM WEST episodes so special. Yes. There was adventure. But it was also fun. And it was keeping in the spirit of the show to have something like this happen, just so they could break the 4th wall and wish us a Merry Christmas. With all the films of "Batman" I have watched, I always find myself coming home to the Adam West episodes.
Better by far from a simpler era than what we have Today on 📺

Batman breaking 4th wall way b4 Deadpool.
People laugh at this but the strength needed by Batman and Robin to pull themselves up the side of a building is superhuman.
Especially when you know that those particular scenes were filmed horizontally and the footage was turned vertically to suggest the outer wall of a building. The capes were held outward by a string to appear as though hanging downward to complete the 'climbing' illusion. Note how the guest star in the window cameo seems to lean outward, when in reality, they were standing on a platform with their head and torso popping up though the horizontal window prop.

No, there wasn't a Christmas special of the series, but this episode was originally shown a few days before Christmas, so this scene was a sort of festive token ;)

Yes, they didn't think the public would buy a straight telling of the comics, so they made it a bit campy on purpose. They did a fantastic job of it, too :D Without it, and the public loving it, we would never have the Superman movies, Batman movies, and comic book films we have now that aren't made to be campy :)

Yeah, that's exactly right. :-) They were both walking on the building and, when they filmed those scene, they were just filmed on an angle (but not as "crooked" an angle as the criminals! lol) :-)
