A little more seriously, though, Batman 1966 takes place in an alternate universe where young Bruce Wayne never suffered any traumatic event. No way was Adam West's Batman/Bruce ever subject to the experience of watching his parents die at the hands of Joe Chill. There are no dark crevices whatsoever in his personality. Adam West's Batman fights crime -- not out of any intense passion for justice and not out of any desire to exorcise any demons inside of him. Adam West's Batman fights crime for the same reason that he might admonish Dick about poor grammar or bad table manners -- it just isn't proper.
"I want you both to play exactly the same tune that you just heard!" ... So Robin plays a harmony and Batgirl plays a counter melody. Neither were paying much attention, had perfect ptich, and hey presto, it worked. Love it!
2:00 - 2:16 This is funny for a multitude of reasons 1. The image of Batman leaning down for the sole purpose of angrily playing a flute at a mouse 2. The fact he plays the flute for a total of fifteen seconds 3. The mouse turning to the camera as if to say what the hell is this guy on 4. The fact that he ends up gently pushing it in 5. That turn to the camera at the end as if to say “ ain’t I a stinker”
When this aired again 20 years ago i was just a kid and i ate it all up. Loved it. I remember this episode, i pestered my mom for a flute for days. Now that i see this decades later, it's a frikkin parody of it's source material. They should air this again. Hilarious!
"Do it" "But..." "Do you hear this sick tune? It means "jump off", get it?" "But I have a family" "I know. This is for their sake" "Fine... Promise me that you will give them an easy life, will you" "Yes, I promise"
One of them, yeah. The only third season episode for sure. Some only had fights in one of the two episode stories. One of the earliest storylines also had no fight because there weren't any henchmen save for two gunmen lying in wait for Batman and Robin to escape the trap.
This was one of the few last season episodes I really liked. It was both comical and frightening to see how Nora took over the city. It was also great to see how Batgirl (obviously a woman) was not fooled by the 'so called' march for women. She was smart enough to see how criminal activity was hiding under a cause. Amazing how Commissioner Gordon and Chief O'Hara were more effective in their roles of helping Batman once they lost their official jobs.
Technically, each one of the remote control rats was a bomb! Perhaps trying to sweep it in by kicking it with their feet could have possibly set it off.
ah, without the great and mighty batman, feeble gotham would surely be in great peril! thank you, dark knight for saving us from the...explosive wind-up mice...and the exploding shark....and surfing against the evil joker...where would we be without you?
ROFLMAO I can't rememebr when I've laughed this hard the last time. I play the flute, and I'd sure wanna learn to pick up a tune that fast as Robin and Batgirl xD
How did they get so many mechanical mice to do in straight lines? Wires? Funny how they tried to make it seem to be splashes in the water as they dove off the dock with jets of water
We need to bring this campy Adam West style batman and insert into these darker movie that are coming out. As campy as Adam's batman is, he might get into the head of Heath's Joker. Can you image the Joker in the Dark Night in one of his rants and Batman pulls out a flute?
Every time I watch this episode on TV, I find it amazing that Batgirl seems to be the only woman in Gotham city who isn't afraid of mice. The episode would had been hilarious if Batgirl had seen the mechanical mouse, fainted and had to wait in the Batmobile while Batman and Robin rounded up the mechanical mice because she is afraid of mice.
Bruce's parents died for this
This remark was 9 years ago, as I write this, but Hairy Oreo, you win the Internet with that observation.

@@65if2007 Bruce Wayne literally says in the first episode of the show that his parents were "murdered by vicious criminals".
I wish there was a gritty Nolan's Batman version of this.
Let's pester Matt Reeves instead, maybe he'll do it.
"Just play, Robin... Play for all you're worth" Beautiful words, Batman :')

Batman is so talented that he can imitate an entire orchestra flute section on a plastic recorder. This is why he's Batman.
If you’re wondering, yes, this is what plays in my mind during a test
Amazing, Michael Keaton or Christian Bale never would have thought of that.
I didn’t know that batman could play a tune on the flute like that
He is quite the virtuoso. Have you ever tried to play a cheap recorder? The other caped crusaders are not so bad themselves.
He probably had a music pill in his bat belt

How were the 12 years after posting this comment?
This is precisely how Robin from Teen Titans Go ended up like he did.
This is how batman committed mass genocide among all mice.
Those mice weren't alive. Just mechanical set to explode at sundown.
Batman always has the right tool for the job. Whether it is his bat rope, his bat thermos or 3 flutes.
easily one of the best shows to ever be on television
@00:30 that has to be the most annoyed I have ever seen Batman get with Robin haha
just imagine you saw batman trotting happily through the street playing a pipe with a flotilla of mice in tow. My life would be complete
Gotta love 60s Batman.
oh man if batman handed me that flute and told me to "play for all my worth", the best I could come up with is Hot Cross Buns
Play for all you're worth, Robin! XD
Ah 1960s Batman. Anyone who thinks nothing good ever came from drugs has obviously never seen this or the original Star Trek.
2:16 Batman's expression.I'm convinced he had something in that pipe, lmao!!
God, the 60s offered the best in television. Nothing could top Batman, Star Trek, or The Twilight Zone.
Mavors44 mentioned Get Smart, so I'll mention "The Wild Wild West".
and Lost in space
RIP Yvonne Craig and Adam West.
Ditto!!
2:16 Batman broke the 4th wall.
He does it a couple of times in "Hizzoner/Dizzoner the Penguin."
just play robin....PLAY FOR ALL YOUR WORTH!
I liked that one mouse at the end, almost felt sorry for him when he went over the edge.
Don't worry, it was only an asshole mouse terminator.
This show just plain makes me smile
"Do it"
"But..."
"Do you hear this sick tune? It means "jump off", get it?"
"But I have a family"
"I know. This is for their sake"
"Fine... Promise me that you will give them an easy life, will you"
"Yes, I promise"
This was brutal I love it
PLAY FOR ALL YOU'RE WORTH, ROBIN!
Arkham Knight soundtrack
I love the best Batman ever!! God bless you, Adam
This must've been the only episode from the 3rd season of Batman in which there was no punching or kicking.
One of them, yeah. The only third season episode for sure. Some only had fights in one of the two episode stories. One of the earliest storylines also had no fight because there weren't any henchmen save for two gunmen lying in wait for Batman and Robin to escape the trap.
Holy Highpitched, Batman. Good thing we work together!
it is totally wonderfulll
i love it
It really tells you something about this show when this is NOT the weirdest thing to happen in it...
4:30 in the afternoon after school on channel 11 in new york ahhh the good ol days!
How cool! Batman can play multiple flutes by just blowing on one!
Seriously intense moment when Batman says, "Play for all your worth" with that instrument in his hands.
And yet neither of them questioned why Alfred was helping them capture Nora and her gang.
" Play Robin !!!, play for all your worth !!!."
" Play for all I'm WORTH ?, Batman, I QUIT !!!!".
Note: the eye holes in Batman and Robins masks are a bit larger than previous season episodes.
This is the only episode, there are no fight scene
@@ritselabuan6513 True. Merry Christmas.
are those mice real? some of them look fake.
They’re mechanical mice unleashed by villain Nora Clavicle
How did they train those really real rats to do that?
R.I.P. Adam West & Yvonne Craig. :(
Why did he not just push the last one in lol
good ol' Adam West.
Those pipes are the Birdbox monsters to the mice
lol batman was like god dammit robbin just play the flute
hahahahaha this show was as much comical as adventurous
How did they train all those mice to do that. They must have a hell of an animal trainer.
The start of that gerbil thing
Season Three got pretty ridiculous and downright goofy. This is perhaps the most embarrassing scene of the entire series..
I think you missed the point.
'60s Batman was a lampoon.
"But..." "Just play, bat-dammit!"
Instead of just sweeping the last into the water, he kept playing the tune?
Technically, each one of the remote control rats was a bomb! Perhaps trying to sweep it in by kicking it with their feet could have possibly set it off.
ah, without the great and mighty batman, feeble gotham would surely be in great peril! thank you, dark knight for saving us from the...explosive wind-up mice...and the exploding shark....and surfing against the evil joker...where would we be without you?
I actually came up with the idea for batman and Robin and bat girl. I'm so proud of everyone who has contributed to my characters.
Well done you.
This is part of the reason the series got cancelled 😮😮😮!!! Pity, too bad Batgirl went alone with it😢😢😢!!
Let's put a smile on that face!
Batman: Just play Robin. Play for all your worth. |:
The CGI in this show is amazing
those mice make the rat in fawlty towers look real. they say seeing is believing. ive seen it and i still can't believe it.
ROFLMAO I can't rememebr when I've laughed this hard the last time.
I play the flute, and I'd sure wanna learn to pick up a tune that fast as Robin and Batgirl xD
what a greeeeat party !
How did they get so many mechanical mice to do in straight lines? Wires? Funny how they tried to make it seem to be splashes in the water as they dove off the dock with jets of water
In the shots where they were all in rows and falling into the water, it looked like they were using a conveyor belt
You can really see the productions values when you look at how many rats there are
That transition is so subtle, I almost never notice it.
We need to bring this campy Adam West style batman and insert into these darker movie that are coming out. As campy as Adam's batman is, he might get into the head of Heath's Joker. Can you image the Joker in the Dark Night in one of his rants and Batman pulls out a flute?
Don't forget to wind the mice up first to make them move
This scene is going to be redone in Batman Begins 3.
Rip Mr. West
This is still better special effects over Star Wars: Phantom Menace.
damn fine flutin Adam West.
This was the best version of Batman, I can't stand all the dark, edgy stuff.
...Just play, Robin. Play for all your worth...
the puns , the puns ohm myyy!!!
Those mice...very realistic.
THANK GOD FOR TIM BURTON !!
As Graham Chapman of Monty Python fame would say, "Right, cut! Cut! Cut right there. No, sorry sorry; this is too silly."
This batman is so different from 2022 Batman lmao (both are good in their own way)
Using the bat flutes, Batman, Robin, and Batgirl can now charm sugar mice to do their bidding.
1:59 why not just hit it off!! lol
Irony trumps logic sometimes, who knows?
I was waiting for him to think "oh what the hell" and do just that. But no, Adam West's Batman wants to do it the right way.
Batman: Alright, now what's my pay for all this?
Mayor:...uhhhhh...uuuhhhhh..
At 0:07 Batgirl already noticed that the mice were affected by the flute before batman even began to play. haha
Ya que batgirl siempre ha Sido para mí una resbalosa tanto en programas como en series animadas y en las historietas cómicas películas
When you could watch tv without hurting your brain.
i love when they do the "no time to explain"
And once again, Batman saves the city. This time by playing ochestral flute to rid the city of bomb-laden, mechanical, colorful mice.
A song that makes mice want to drown themselves?
I can see the next day's headlines
"HOLY SHIT, THERE ARE SIX MILLION DAED RATS FLOATING WHERE OUR CHILDREN SWIM!"
I'm going to watch this whole movie holy fuck this is amazing
No disrespect for Adam West Batman but seriously.. thanks to Micheal Keaton who gave a dark and dreaded tone to Batman which he actually deserved
good thing robins a child protege on the flute
I miss when shows were created through LSD trips.
2021 was here.
1:09 oh GOD!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!
The splashes/squirts of water killed me.
Beware! They are coming for the kids next time.
Crude painted backdrop
Oh, Adam West, you slay me.
Norma clavicle who tried to destroy Gotham city but the terrific trio stopped them
As cheap as this show is
The acting isn't half bad
And they have some pretty funny gags
