Great reaction! Im a christian and need to let people know that mental health problems, depression and suicidal thoughts are not only expearianced by non-christians. I myself have fallen into some pretty dark valleys in my life and if it wasent for God, his forgiveness and presance I probably wouldent be here right now writing this. Everybody has doubts, sarrow and loss to deal with in this conflicting world of colliding views and misdirected anger but understanding the truth of Jesus's life, ministry, death and resurrection to redeam your very soul will set you free. We must be there for the wounded because alot of people like myself have fought some crazy spiritual wars unseen by human eyes, both the war and the fact that I fighting in it.I used to hide my battles so no one would worry about me but believe me, they worry! They know your suffering even if your a skilled illusionist like myself hideing beneath a forced grin and jokes to camoflaugue the pain within. Those who know us and love us know we're struggling, some of them just don't know what to say or don't want to make things worse by saying anything. its alot easier if you acknowledge the fight and realise that wars are better fought in numbers. Fighting alone creates casualties. I always lend my time and ear to anyone suffering in silence. I'm here, I care and your not alone. Also, God loves you without conditions always!!! Call out to Jesus if you feel you can't talk to anyone else. His presance brings solace and serinity to your soul. I just had a bad moment the other night, my son woke up and we we started talking. I was honest with him instead of hideing my struggle like I tend to do most of the time. I decided to pray with him and I instantly felt peace in my heart. The horrible pain, sadness and fear I was expeariancing instantly left me. I thanked him and told him how much better I felt after the prayer. I have had many experiences like that in my life and I know beyond any shadow of a doubt that God loves us all equally so what do you have to lose if you pray and open your mind to consider what I'm explaining?...Nothing! What do you have to gain? ...Freedom from depressions bondage, unhinged rusted chains of indecision broken away so hope can lift into your heart. I now have an unforced grin and after years of struggling I am know happier than ever. True love is long suffering and we must forgive ourselves to be completely free. That was my problem for a long time. I had to truly repent, turn away from my sins and pick up my sword. I knew God loved me I just had to learn how to love myself. Anyway, God bless you all and don't give up the good fight. Take care.

I lost my fiance to suicide. It not only ended his life, but shattered mine. The guilt is a heavy weight to carry and I will never be the same. He died from mental illness. This song represents what he thought every day. People who have suicidal thoughts want the pain to stop. His did, but mine never will.

A "lively" show. 😅😅😅 Jacoby Shaddix is widely considered by rock frontmen to be one of the best frontmen in the industry. I'm certain that the performance was a lively one. 😅😅😅
In all seriousness tho, this group has come a long, LONG way and is still one of my favorites. Starting off with Last Resort and Broken Home, the place the writer was in when he wrote the songs helped other folks in hopeless situations to not feel so alone but when they got to Scars they went from simply commiserating on that hopelessness to offering advice to make healthy decisions and take responsibility for yourself, cutting off toxic people that are trying to pull you down if that's what it takes. Fantastic artists and great musicians.
Another great reaction. I love your approach and thoughtful consideration of the lyrics. I love that you weren't preachy (if that makes sense) toward folks who might be facing something similar to the writer. I also love, love, love the humble self awareness and honesty you expressed when you said, "I don't know." It can feel really inauthentic and disingenuous to always have the answer, only for that answer to be the cliché response we so often hear. Too many people are uncomfortable admitting I Don't Know, but I Don't Know is where the search for an answer begins. Nobody searches for an answer when they already know it and that stops so many people from discovering that they're mistaken about something as simple as a song lyric to something as big and complex as mental illness and self harm. I thought it was huge of you to make that decision in this reaction and really it just makes me want to high five you.
Thanks for being so open and honest and genuine with us here. I really dig your reactions for those reasons. Would love to see you do their song Scars while this song is still fresh in your mind.
Don't listen to me tho. You're doing great. Keep up the great work. 👍👍👍

I'm enjoying your take on these songs. You're honest and open minded, which is great.
Give the Type O Negative song Christian Woman a listen. Long version!
