1. You're right that there are no ugly colors. Color needs context. It depends on what the color is used on, and it depends on what colors it's paired with. The color that's voted "the ugliest color in the world" is a sort of dark greenish brown. On it's own, it's not super appealing. It's exquisite in leather, and you see it reasonably often in museums because Old Masters look amazing on it. People who say that there are ugly colors, don't know how color works. 2. If you want to pair colors and don't know where to start, you want to think about saturation. You can pair more or less any two colors together if they have the same saturation. Plum and deep sage are gorgeous together. So are lavender and mint green. Neon blue and magenta play well together. So do baby blue and powder pink. Colors that are opposite in saturation also play well together. Plum purple and pale pale mint green are lovely together. So are deep burgundy and pastel yellow. Colors get to be challenging to combine when you start mixing midtones, or murky colors with bright colors. Skin tone alone is not as important as UNDERtones tbh. Once you know what colors look good on you (because of your undertones) then you can know what colors will look good together with color theory
@@wiktor3727 it’s like the color under your skin so cool warm etc . Im unsure how to describe it but peoples skin have some sort of undertone like blue and sich
You see… the problem I have here is that I would love to dress like these examples you give, but I live in a very warm place. The weather leaves me with very little styling options.
Same here, unless I want to boil alive like a lobster. Donated most of the black/darker blue clothing I had; for whatever reason, those were the school uniforms for half my life.
I got my colors done for my birthday a few years back and honestly I cannot recommend it enough!! It tells you what colors look best on you and it all has to do with the tones in your skin and science stuff. Im an autumn so warm, earthy, vibrant colors look best on me (forest green, coffee, brick) and make my skin glow because of the tones in my skin. If I wear cool colors like sky blue, lavender, black, that stuff make me look very pale and not as awesome. So please, get your colors done!! It’s the best thing you can do for your wardrobe
Personally, big fan of resortware shirts for summer fits. You can get some good ones from American Eagle, the specific Colours & patterns change each season but there’s usually a nice mix between overt & subtle patterns. They’re very light, very breezy, & pair well with jeans/khakis & a white tee.
vids like this really got me wanting to step out of my exclusively red black and white color scheme. literally everything i wear with any regularity is greyscale and bright red, i gotta get some contrasting colors that are actually flattering on me bc right now brown is adventurous for me lmao
One day I decided I hated yellow, white, pink, red and purple and threw out all clothing of those colors. Everything I wear now is green, black or brown, with some small amount of blue. 90% of my clothes are green. Someday I hope to make it 100%. I don't even look good in green, it brings out a yellow corpse like tone in my skin. But I don't give half a skinny curled up at the end dog shit about that. I like the color, it makes me happy. Typical outfit: sage green boots, emerald green socks, brown or olive drab jeans or corduroys, *always* tucked into the socks, leather belt, grey or black tee, kelly or emerald green flannel or hoody, hunter green or tan fedora with green beaded tassels, green bandanna (dozens of shades), black canvas or leather purse. I want to look like a cartoon character. Snufkin is my style icon.
I mean it feels like it's worth mentioning that these are also all professional photographs of people with studio lighting and probably a makeup/wardrobe team behind the scenes.
I was at the part where you said “I think the best thing that I keep in the back of my head when styling with color is this phrase right here-“ then it cut to an ad for Forever 21 in big bold letters
I focus more on jewellery and do like femboy styles too but I also tend to wear vairous styles of clothes. Sometimes the classic blue shirt and grey coat like that business aesthetic , sometimes white long sleeves shirt or crop tops and open shirt. color combining is all about experiment,. I sometimes just black out - black wears , sometimes i realize black is good to mix with other colors. black just feels difficult not to wear.
This such a great thorough yet quick video. I have been wearing like the same 8 or so outfits lately. Mix and match style. I have generally pale skin (enough that I can't wear make up with blue in it bc then I look dead, I think it pulls out veins) and dark hair, eyes, brows so I am pretty aware of like contrast and balance as far as that. My fav neutrals are often darker grays over black, white or light grey. I don't own a bunch of tans I typically have more browns bc im, as stated, pale. My go to lazy, I don't fit in anything lately, outfits are typically Sweats, men's tees, leggings, sweater, maybe a hoodie. They follow a lot of these rules without much effort. The color pairings made me think of an outfit I should definitely try that's like a grey graphic long-sleeved with the graphic being off white and a very yellow green and a blush pink corduroy skirt. I love that combo lately in so many other things I jsut haven't tried it in clothes bc im in a bit if a rough spot with my body lately and not feeling super experimental. I also think that reds and blues can totally be neutrals in the right outfits. I di so many arts in college and a rule from interior design that I think is also helpful in fahsion if you're lost is to stick to 2 or 3 main colors. Ideally 2 main colors and one accent color. It's an amazing place to start until you know how to break the rules in the best ways. BTW neutrals do not count in this rule. As an example a pink a brown outfit with green accessories is nice but for my outfit to try the grey in my shirt is neutral so my main colors are the green and pink. I could add navy accessories or white accessories. It's all based on the color combos and how colors interact. In my design course we did a project for theory that was helpful for this concept where you had one color and showed how it changed when used on top of 2 dramatically different colors. The relationship is important not just the color separately. Its also why im so indecisive when I'm desmy crochet blankets lately. Anyway I'm rambling
Best bet: one pattern. One solid colour. The pattern has some of the solid colour in it. The accessories are whatever the other colour was. For example. Green and pink patterned shirt. Pink pants. Green sunglasses. Plus you can add one other colour that is not distracting. That means black, white, or a colour that is subtle and goes easily with the other two colours. In this case it would be white, gold, black, brown, or if you're feeling fruity, a dash of yellow. The most important thing is that the overall look is balanced.
There are many quizzes and surveys on finding your skin color, season, and undertone. This will help you find jewelry, makeup, and clothes that suit you based on hues, saturation, intensity, etc. Even something simple like a foundation match for those who don't wear makeup can help guide you to the next step, color theory.
2:08 had that discussion with a friend of mine, he said light blue and lavender aren't cool colors and I had to explain that 1. I really fuck with them and 2. I just can't wear a bright red or darker flashy blue
Most people can understand that red is a warm color and blue is a cool color. But then tell them there are warm blues and cool reds and they get really confused and angry. Color theory is way more complicated than people have any idea
4:56 ha I have the jacket of these pants , I get so many questions and compliments when I wear it but it’s loud af and even though a lot of my wardrobe is these colors it can come off as too much matching , but anyways I got for like 90% off cuz no one wanted it for the original price 😅

At first, as a new viewer (and now new subscriber), i w as way afraid that this would be an attack on colored clothing but i am most agreably pleased ! Personnaly i use almost exclusively T-shirt with bright colors, paired with colorful paisley pattern shirt (when it is sunny) or plaid shirt (when it is gloomy). For the jacket and pants i use mainly beige by personnal preference and because i think that it goes well with pretty much anything. I am very happy to find someone who defend colored clothing, i see too much people in white, gray or black, it looks like everyone is in grief, it's depressing ! Edit : If you are into hats, a panama one is great with the outfit i described here !
Complimentary color does not necessarily mean colors go well together. It just means they make each other pop out. They serve as contrast. Using complimentary color pairings is probably too loud for most people to feel comfortable
6:52 I had the same exact question. I think since the color worked for the zone, the word in the statue caught my attention and I was also wondering "why PR0N?" I guess the statue is what we like to call a statement piece. Kind of like with accessories that go with an outfit.

I was always very insecure about this so I always had very basic clothing. But then I thought that I liked shoes jewlery and jackets. So I usually just use basic clothing with something to stand out, like colored shoes or a huge necklace
with ptsd its hard for me to wear my bright clothes, even my special yeezees i got myself when i turned 21 cuz i honestly never had a piece of clothing over $100. and theyre bright blue and white but as a big dude who has a mean look its just hard for me to even enjoy them. I always stick with my leather jacket and jeans fit because Im just too nervous to wear my bright blue fit because i feel like it wouldnt suit me. even though ironically its my favorite color.

When i say this fit was so effortlessly perfect, i mean it. Never again shall i wear the pink hoodie and timberland combo, no one cared but i knew that fit was trash
Skin tone alone is not as important as UNDERtones tbh. Once you know what colors look good on you (because of your undertones) then you can know what colors will look good together with color theory
What is undertone?
@@wiktor3727 it’s like the color under your skin so cool warm etc . Im unsure how to describe it but peoples skin have some sort of undertone like blue and sich
As a person that rarely buys black, it makes me happy to see a video on color 💕
You see… the problem I have here is that I would love to dress like these examples you give, but I live in a very warm place. The weather leaves me with very little styling options.
Same here, unless I want to boil alive like a lobster. Donated most of the black/darker blue clothing I had; for whatever reason, those were the school uniforms for half my life.
As a guy who always wears flower shirts, this is a pretty cool guide.
bro wants segregated clothing 😭😭😭
bruh i got some weird community popup asking me if this comment is inappropriate 💀
@@leonhardable 💀💀
@@leonhardable im not suprised
Ever since I've been watching your videos, my fashion has been leveling up
I got my colors done for my birthday a few years back and honestly I cannot recommend it enough!!
@omair fr bru that’s what I’m tryna find out 🤔
We all want to know, ahem... WHERE DO WE GET OUR COLORS DONE. thank you.
I just use apps / Google , I'm a cool winter
I need summer fashion advice. 90% of these nice looking fits are several layers deep and meant for winter.
Shorts tshirts slides done ✅
Personally, big fan of resortware shirts for summer fits. You can get some good ones from American Eagle, the specific Colours & patterns change each season but there’s usually a nice mix between overt & subtle patterns. They’re very light, very breezy, & pair well with jeans/khakis & a white tee.
Low top shoes with jeans or shorts with a tee. Also ballcap cuz y not
i don’t look bad in colored clothing, but i will watch this anyways
I wanted to add Orange, yellow and red in my wardrobe for a very long time now. This will pep me up. I don't care about public opinion anymore
vids like this really got me wanting to step out of my exclusively red black and white color scheme. literally everything i wear with any regularity is greyscale and bright red, i gotta get some contrasting colors that are actually flattering on me bc right now brown is adventurous for me lmao
Why you gotta do Hasan like that😭😭
damn hasan caught all the coachella fit strays in this one lmaoo. great vid as always frugal!
My favorite colors combos for outfits:
purple + orange
black + pink
white + tan (brown)
They look and feel fresh and different.
adding a colorful beanie is my fav way to incorporate color. or even colorful shoes and accessories 🤌
you didn't have to do my boi hasan like that hahahaha
as soon as i saw the thumbnail LMAOOO
My himbo
Did him dirty LMAO
My number 1 fear is Christian using one of my fits in his cringe fits montages
Chris editing is so meta
I mean it feels like it's worth mentioning that these are also all professional photographs of people with studio lighting and probably a makeup/wardrobe team behind the scenes.
No joke, trail and error is EVERYTHING. Great vid brother. ✌️
I was at the part where you said “I think the best thing that I keep in the back of my head when styling with color is this phrase right here-“ then it cut to an ad for Forever 21 in big bold letters
Completely disagree with orange going easily with everything. Orange sucks
Was just stopping by your channel like 3 hrs ago wondering where a new video would be. Came back to YT right now and here one is. Hell yeah.
My money don't jiggle jiggle, it folds
Since i lost weight ive been LITERALLY STUDYING this channel. Thank you Christian
“To get an error you gotta try”
-Sun Tzu (probably)
Christian speaks so we listen. All the memes aside his actual inputs for style are on point.
I will not tolerate the J Cole slander
The Freddi Fish hoodie god damn
I wear ungodly colour combos and own it cos its fun
WE LOVE LEAN 💜
I rarely subscribe to channels these days but the J Cole joke got me. You got a new subscriber
There are many quizzes and surveys on finding your skin color, season, and undertone. This will help you find jewelry, makeup, and clothes that suit you based on hues, saturation, intensity, etc. Even something simple like a foundation match for those who don't wear makeup can help guide you to the next step, color theory.
love that youre just roasting hasan half the video
I agree with every tip you just mentioned. Especially as an artist. But idk, I don't resignate with all of the out there examples you show.
That piece of art says "Porn" Because it is a modern play on a Philly landmark and MAJOR skate spot that was well known until they shut it down - Love park... Love was modeled the exact same way, just in red...
I'm someone that tends to just buy black, grey, or brown clothes but, I love color. Tees are a great way to add something fun 😊
best thumbnails on RUclips
Love the take and clarity of language in this.
Dont wear a green beanie with your where's Waldo cherry stripped long sleeve T. It will make you feel and look like your trying to hard or just recently escaped from a north pole maximum security detail.
j cole slander will not be tolerated
i love styling with color, but i've never really done monochromatic fits before.
trying it out with whites tmmrw, i think i got it
not the receptionist matching amazingly with the lobby
Probably your best video yet. I was gonna bring up using the color wheel but I’m glad I waited till the end.
whatchu talkin bout Christian i look balling in colored clothing
9:52 I liked the dude in the Pink Tommy Jeans sweatshirt. He looked really dope.
Complimentary color does not necessarily mean colors go well together. It just means they make each other pop out. They serve as contrast. Using complimentary color pairings is probably too loud for most people to feel comfortable
The Hue is not the only thing that matters, there's also saturation, proportion, brightness, balance etc
what I've always done is see if there a plant in nature and if it they match they match
6:52 I had the same exact question. I think since the color worked for the zone, the word in the statue caught my attention and I was also wondering "why PR0N?"
I guess the statue is what we like to call a statement piece. Kind of like with accessories that go with an outfit.
I ain't even into fashion, He's just entertaining
wearing all black or almost all black makes me happy. i like having a bit of color sometimes, that doesn't get old got me. i have tried to change it up with color and patteren but i have felt like i was wearing a costume. im very pale. i get the you look like youre going to a funeral comment, or youre too old to be goth or black looks harsh against your skin tone but i dont care. i suppose i liken myself to the atheistic of julian sands in the movie warlock.
Here’s a relief: the vast majority of people do not pay attention to what you wear let alone judge you for it. If you like them , wear them. You’re not losing masculinity to some bright yeezys jus enjoy em 💪
the amount of shots fired at the end 😂😂 will forever be subscribed to this channel
man, this is one of the best channels in yt, it's funny, educational and pretty great overall. qq for all of you out there: what accounts do you follow for inspiration? I'm trying to get better at this
Bro ever since I found your channel my style has done a complete 180 😂😂 it feels so good to wear straight cut pants, I forgot how it felt after years of skinnies 😂😂 wish I could show you a fit and get you to give me some feedback
I only look good in black and white... sometimes, I add in gray, khaki, or brown when I'm feeling risky.
Maybe that's why I got so inclined to emo and e-boy fashion lol cus most fits are in black and white
I guess it's time to widen my wardrobe though. I'll keep these tips in mind man 🤙
olive is also great with black and white
if you have trouble finding a colorrange you like - get an imageconsultation/coloranalysis, and play within that colorsheme
Thank you man you honestly helped my style game and I do music so imagine
Hasan is low key one of my favorite content creators and yeah, he even admits that his showing at coachella was a major flop, but it's really cool and insightful to hear why his fits didn't work. Excellent work on this one again bud, hopefully this makes it over to his react streams!
@Max Lmao came to the comment section for this
yikes
Not sure what is worse, Hasan, his fans, or his outfits.
A good pair of blue or light blue denim goes with all the colors so u can play with the colors easily
You've got to fit your complexion into the blocking. I've got a salmon face, like deli meat. I can only put tones or blues by my face or I become lobster. Green, pink, yellow all amplify the magenta skin hues.
Can't wait for the first episode of your Podkasst
i remember when christian RECOMMENDED styling a bright piece with a black base... i also remember when he said to style white shoes with black everything else
