Joe was a idol of mine when I was a young punk rocker and I think I appreciate him more now that I’m older and have heard so many stories that paint him out to be one hell of a humble and grounded guy. Great interview.
Heather- This was FANTASTIC! I come from a family of 5 kids, and I love to see brothers and sisters talk like this! I've been friends with Joe for a few years now, he's such an awesome guy (as you know) - he's done so much for me and my band The Monkeychunks. Love him -Stevie
I live in Portsmouth and the queers are a legend here for us 90’s punk guys. The Elvis room is a spot that will never leave me. Thank you for the local history. I live in Greenland down the road from grand view😉
As a long-time Heather King fan, this is a totally unexpected treat to vicariously meet her little bro. It feels like sitting in on a long-overdue, and loving, family reunion. Some Christians may recoil at some of her brother's band's song titles and lyrics, but this conversation sort of crystallizes for me a sense that honest punk music really hits hard at the classic Catholic transcendentals... there's a ton of goodness, beauty and truth in it. The package is much different than that of a Mozart mass or a da Vinci painting, but it's really in there. Thanks, Heather--
Thanks so much, David, right, Joe has many more fans than I do (at least on social media) so I wanted to slant our conversation both to his people and "my" people...my fondest hope is that they could in some cases be the same people. It's kind of interesting that in our respective fields, he and I have both cultivated this very personal approach that is based on connecting with people, connecting people with each other, celebrating people we admire, etc. So though we've followed very dif paths in one way, in another, the heart is the same. And one of the things that came out in the video is our collective debt of gratitude to our hometowns, teachers, and families...I appreciate your watching, and the feedback!
What a fantastic treat. I was just at the Pittsburgh show in late June. Joe and the band still put on an amazing show I'm 45 and have been a fan of the Queers since the mid 90s. I really found this interview to be next level, and see the artistic talents run deep in the King family. Heather you put together a masterpiece of an interview and look forward to viewing more. You captured something only a sibling could. As a fan I appreciate this because you avoided the standard music interview and gave us a glimpse into a punk legends life like no other. Thank you very much. Loved the story about Russia lol
Thanks so much, Jeremiah! I spent hours putting together my amatuer little video but I do think Joe was in fine form and yes, maybe a slightly different glimpse for his fans. The Russia incident was great and so was the spelling bee anecdote, which I'd never heard. Really glad you got a kick out of it--pass it on!
@@DesireLinesHK Thank you for the repky, I truly appreciate it. In no way the interview was amateur. it was very punk rock. From the dog coming in, and Joes wife making an appearance. It's these little nuances that sets this apart and makes it so much better.. I will spread the word and hope all the fans get to enjoy this. Can t wait to hear from the plumber. Thanks again for the reply & a top notch interview.
This was fantastic. I love the queers. This reminded me of my two sisters who are much more responsible and professional than myself. Big hello from Portland, Maine.

Even I didn’t know the spelling bee anecdote-so much fun to chat with my brother!! Long live The Queers!

Good old Post Road…our parents are buried in the cemetery a stone’s throw from the family homestead at 108…nice to hear from a Queers fan…
Great interview. Love the Queers!
