Thanks for persuading me to go with the new Patrol. Took her out last weekend for the race at Jarrod's Place. I will be interested in hearing your thoughts on the new shock as I have been contemplating between EXT or going the cheap route with a coil Bomber.
@@Blake_Cherubini might the ultimate set up to be able to switch from an enduro to a downhill bike. I’m still deciding on switching out my 2000 pivot Firebird to the patrol and doing some research. Cheers man.
How do you like it at 170/170 compared to 160/160? Any noticeable difference in the handling or steeering? Would love to hear a ride report on the arma once you get it as well- also will you run the arma at 205x65 or back to the 205x60?
The only real noticeable difference is that it is just a tad slacker which isn’t a huge negative for me bc I care more about the downhill experience than the uphill experience. I’ll probably just keep it 170/170 and order a 65mm stroke shock
DVO Topaz = Downhill composure of a Float X2, but without the dead feeling. DVO is a leap of faith for the unititiated so it's hard to convince people because they get sketched out by the fact that the brand is less mainstream, but I could never go back to an X2 having ridden the Topaz which happened to come OEM on a new bike.
Had the Topaz myself. Loved the stictionless feeling and spring modability but it kept leaking tiny amounts of oil onto the stanchion no matter how often it got serviced and the shock also doesn't handle sideloads well. The internals had worn down quite badly after only riding it for 1 season. DVO dealt great with it but it's kept me away from them regardless.
Slap an EXT Arma on that bad boy if your gonna be doing some races. They literally get better the harder you push them. You looked strong on the bike tho. Hope to see more like this! WTF is Chase? Is he not racing this season? Im sure i missed something
Ordering an EXT this week ironically! I forgot to say it in the video but Chase has been battling a nerve related issue in his hand so he couldn’t handle windrock just yet!
Always making my day better
🤘🥰

Glad to hear that you’re stoked on your patrol too! I will definitely be letting everyone know about how I get along with this EXT shock!
Solid bro - that patrol can take a twin crown fork! Worth getting one for your DH races maybe!?
Yeah I’ve definitely considered it haha

Sick
I have a question.
How do you get back to the mountain once you ride downhill and backcountry your car?
Max a real one for making that drive without being able to ride! He do that on his bike or figure skates?

i was just wondering how you know if a shock is blown out?
A failure happens internally which causes all of the oil to leak out resulting in essentially 0 damping
5:47 "I was battling some arm pump earlier" Should have gone with Magura MT7s and the Fromerth Forearm workouts!!! Arm pump is a thing of the past!
Who gets arm pump?
@@ChaseCherubini apparently Blake
Which workouts? Google gave no hits

I wish there was a way to demo suspension before buying!
The topaz is awesome!

What's bigger, the Red Bull drop at Windrock or Cupcake drop at Snowshoe?
Red Bull for sure

Dude I blew my dvo rear shock on pre ride
😭😭😭
@@Blake_Cherubini I guess the course just blows
What happened to send er buds? (Sorry if asked already)
It just wasn’t what we wanted to be long term unfortunately. Multiple reasons made us want to change it
