Hello ma'am I have been one of ur Subscriber and have been following you for long now pls kindly assist me...I'm a first time mom, 37weeks pregnant with twins and I desperately desired a Vaginal birth but am kindoff confused when my Doctor said she's gonna induced me and am kindoff scared and not comfortable with induction knowing the fact that my babies are okay and cephalic..Pls can I try the midwives brew to naturally induce myself? I want to avoid the hospital induction, pls kindly Reply me ma🙏🙏
I love how trendy unicorn stuff has been the last few years. I think a unicorn baby shower would be super cute- also on my shortlist are circus theme (my husband is into magic and circus arts) and celestial/cosmos.
I had two showers. I’m having a girl. The first was woodsy themed with bears and red and black plaid, because that’s something neutral that made it easy for my sil to plan in advance before we knew the gender, she added girly splashes when we learned the gender. The second was spring flower themed, planned by my mom for my side of the family.
My wife isn’t into making the registry so i have taken the “mama” roll for this. I’ve watched countless hours of videos and have to say that so far this was the most helpful. Thank you :)

I liked Lansinoh Organic Nipple Balm or plain old coconut oil. Also, if you are going to be supplementing with formula or just want a back up in case of emergency, Burts Bees Ultra Gentle Organic Formula is the only kind my baby will eat 🥰 Happy journey mamas and daddies!
I will be the father of a baby girl soon and I am the one taking care of the registry so I can give my wife some peace of mind since pregnancy is such a tough process. While it is time consuming, I actually love and enjoy doing it since I pay so much attention to details.
Baby showers are not such a big thing here in germany, especially if you had a few kids before and basically have everything a baby needs already. And as far as what you need, I didn't have half of the things you mentioned and we came through the infant stage just fine! I guess every family is just different and what works for them :) also I preferred the snap button onsies because I always felt the zippers are so bulky in some areas and could scratch their skin easily. With the snap button ones you don't have so much bulk and it's perfectly smooth on their skin and once you get the hang of them it's not such a hustle in the night anymore ;) My absolute must haves were: -Burp cloths (lot of them lol) -comfy clothes over cute outfits (like onsies and footed overalls) - thick comfy crawl blanket for the floor -a carrier or sling/wrap - two receiving blankets (one knitted and one thin versatile cloth blanket) -a monitor (I only ever had the ones that transfer sound, no video) -a crib that attaches to your bed side but provides baby with a safe space to sleep so you couldn't accidentally roll over but keeps baby close at night, also makes night time nursing so much easyer) -a good bum cream -comfy no wire nursing bras and nursing pads I think those were all my essentials :) hope this helps some other mamas out there
Not sure why you felt the need to try to one up this RUclips vlogger by posting your personal preferences. This is her channel and her personal recommendations. If you don't agree or dislike her opinion, make your own RUclips channel. Your comment is incredibly rude and disrespectful to this vlogger and her efforts that went into making this video.
@@megzhutch777 NO! I love her content! I didn't mean to come across rude at all 😱 I was simply just telling what worked for us and point out that every family is different and every mom has different preference and that a must have list it not necessarily a "must have". This video is about the things you need for a new born and I just stated what things I personaly needed as a new mom. In no way was I gonna disrespect her or invalidate the things she needed! She had good reasons for the things she mentioned.
28 weeks pregnant and I actually had every single one of these things on my registry already or have already purchased - so thankful that you confirmed these items instead of people who told me some of the things were "extra" or "not needed". I feel so much better about my purchases and can't wait to use them!
I bought all of this stuff, and only really got good use out of three things: a baby carrier, a sound machine, and the cloth diaper inserts for cleaning spit up. So much stuff is recommended that isn't needed or is actually useless. The perinatal cold packs were like torture. The car baby mirror is popular, but dangerous if you get into an accident. Highway Patrol advises against them. The reusable breast pads can clog ducts. Anyway, just providing some feedback and my experience. :-) I found things went much smoother after sorting out what I was actually using, and putting all of the other stuff away in the top of the closet. Keep it simple!
The Perineal packs were a life saver for me!!! Everyone is different. My great grandparents were carried from Texas to Tennessee in saddle bags on horse back as infants, and my grandmother changed all her babies on the floor instead of a changing table! Technically you don't "need" anything to habe a baby except a uterus, sperm, and boobs, but why make things difficult or uncomfortable when we live in 2021!
My heart almost jumped out of my chest when you said that you can put the "Dock-a-tot" on the kitchen table to keep an eye on the baby. These products (while advertised for sleep) should not be used for unattended sleeping or placed in baby cribs or other places. They should especially not be placed on high services, even if you are right there. These are a place to 'dock' your infant, but they can and do roll out of them and fall off of things. It could go on a safe spot on the floor or you can use one of the many other baby products designed to hold or entertain your infant. While there are no single ways to parent and there are tons of things that work individually for families, just about any baby product on a surface like a counter or table invites disaster. It is easy to get a false sense of safety or security, thinking you might only step away and the product is safe to keep the baby secure. It takes one second for the baby to suddenly unexpectedly roll (yes, they do this even at very early ages unexpectedly) or for the baby to move and slide the product. A fall from a table, countertop, or other similar surface will most likely result in severe injury or death. I appreciate you were probably illustrating an example, but people will take it literally. Use it in the kitchen, but keep it on the floor away from foot traffic or by the route of cooking where something could fall on them. This article is also FAQs about the Dockatot regarding co-sleeping (does not align with AAP Infant Safe Sleep Guidelines). support.dockatot.com/category/86-general-use Great review! Thanks for sharing-didn't mean to jump in with feedback, but felt it important to highlight this.
I feel like she meant like, while she’s sitting at the table, or something surely? I like to think it’s common sense not to leave your baby on the kitchen table but i also know not all mommas are as paranoid as I am lol. Thank you for clarifying this though because some people listening might not know better!
you can't buy the Doc a Tot here in Canada because they are considered suffocation risks to the baby. I believe you can still buy a snuggle me organic but again it should not be used as a bed if unsupervised. Otherwise a lot of these items were very helpful
Boobs or bottles, diapers, and a ton of burp cloths and receiving blankets, a pack and play, and a car seat got us through the first year. Our house burned down when our baby girl was 6 weeks old. We had a received a lot of baby gear at our baby shower before she was born, but we lost it all. I learned really quickly that babies don't look for much at the start. It was humbling.
Some really excellent points! I love these kinds of videos and you have such a nice presence and are so easy to watch. The only thing to keep in mind about lanolin and breastfeeding is that lanolin is a natural substance that sheep produce to protect their skin and keep it moisturized. It is removed from the skin of sheep after the wool has been harvested. It’s processed of course to become what we use as nipple protectant and in makeups, etc, but sheep are directly sprayed with pesticides in order to keep wool free of insects and such. The pesticides get on the sheeps’ skin and therefore into the waxy lanolin substance. Those cannot be removed during processing and can be harmful to baby. Earth Mama has an awesome nipple cream!
Just a note on the car seat cover, please please please research the safety of car seat sleeping, although it is tempting to leave a baby asleep in the car seat once you remove it from a car the seat does not sit on the same angle out of the car and can cause the baby to suffocate, please avoid and research more before buying a cover to encourage this behaviour. There have been many reported tragedies on this issue.
Yep. Every time I see people just carrying around a caseat covered with fabric I feel so nervous. I understand wanting to let baby sleep but if I couldn't see my baby while out in public in a surface where they could suffocate or overheat... makes my skin crawl. I've been gifted 2 car seat covers already and I'm like no thank you 🙃
30 weeks pregnant today with #4!! It's been seven years since my youngest was born so my friends threw a shower for me yesterday:) the theme was woodland rustic and was so so cute! She did a great job!! Hoping and praying for a successful vbac
Dockatots are actually banned in Canada and are not considered safe for sleep in the US. I would recommend looking for another option. Babies have suffocated in them.
They are going to implement more restrictions in the US, but it is in the future. I think they are a good product as a place to lounge with supervision. However, you are right as they don't align with AAP Infant Safe Sleep Guidelines. Placed on the wrong surface or placed in a swaddling blanket that completely disables an infant from turning their heads or using their hands/arms would take one roll-over or a face pressed to close to the side and it is immediate smother risk. I don't think a lot of parents realize just how quickly SIDS happens. I'm not a fan of these individual companies popping up everywhere with no rigorous expectations, recommendations, or testing. Mandatory Infant Safety Testing in the US is so minimal. I tend to stick to the historical brands for most baby products, especially those that are heavily reliant on infant health and safety. There's some really great new products out there, but if they're buy direct or Amazon only, not enough research to convince me.
@@shannonholliker8133 yes! I was gifted a snuggle me and I did a lot of inquiry about it. I would feel comfortable using it for supervised lounging on the floor/couch, specifically because it will be winter when baby is here and we have wood surfaces and animals. But the person who gifted it to me said they used it for bedsharing and sleep and I just felt like that wasn't safe. I have nothing against cosleeping and would probably do it with the safe sleep 7 on a firm floor bed if it felt right for me and baby, but to do it with an unregulated product with known suffocation risk feels sketchy
The only thing I dont agree with is using things like the doc a tot for sleeping. Theres been a spike in SIDS since they became trendy and they are very dangerous. The company actually advises against this and has it on their instructions. If you're using them for sleeping PLEASE watch your baby to the best of your ability. Everything else...LOVE!!
I went straight to the comments when she said this, same concept as crib bumpers, if their head gets to the side and they don’t have the control or wake to move their head it’s a really bad suffocation risk!
Yes!! I also cringed when she said putting the baby on the kitchen table. Dock-a-tot, Bobo seats, carriers, etc...A baby should never be placed on a high surface unattended-it's a misconception newborns never roll. The dock a tot is dangerous anyway, then even worse on a high surfy. People put their babies in bobo seats and feed them on counter and table tops. It takes one unexpected jerk by a top-heavy baby and they're life is at-risk. While I am glad just about anyone can use social media for a message and a profit, people really need to stay in their lane when it comes to what they claim to be their expertise. As a parenting vlog, you have to be especially careful and have a responsibility to correct research and recommendations that align with infant/child safety guidelines, especially in product recommendations.
@@shannonholliker3591 I just went and bought a baby lounger by Comfyt. It is similar to the Dock A Tot at the lower half for the baby's body, but the head part has a different shape. I really hope it's safer. I just wanted to prevent a way for my baby to be safe while they slept, and not roll over. Do you recommend just getting a swaddle instead?
Good list! Those hoping to use cloth diapers might be interested to know that snapping sleepers make it much easier to check for soiled diapers without disturbing baby.
As a redhead our nipples are more prone to cracking and bleeding when first starting to nurse. Lanolin did very little for my poor nipples. Earth Mama Nipple Butter was a game changer and truly amazing.
I already had my 2 showers, and made a registry with basic needs that was painfully ignored. The funny thing is, people would ask us what we needed, we tell them about the registry, then they would say “oh, I never look at registries.” 🤦🏻♀️ Thankfully, we got a few gift cards and are using those for the gear we didn’t get.
Amirah Heath the thing is, all I put on there were things we truly needed: a place for baby to sleep, changing pad, baby first aid/grooming kit, and some more expensive needs (furniture for the off chance anybody wanted to help us out with that). Thankfully my parents noticed nobody was getting us stuff more than clothes, toys, and diapers, all very much appreciated, of course. So they got us a bassinet and car seat carrier/stroller combo. Thank God for excited grandparents to be. ☺️
I’m having one of mine this weekend and another in 2 weeks and I’ve been checking my registry and find that nothing has been bought off it yet... seriously annoying because I chose the products for a reason! I’m praying that people bring gift receipts so I can go back and purchase the version I want instead!
@@nekaylihubbardhoefer427 I kept checking mine as well, it drove me nuts! I hope you'll at least get some gift cards like I did. We got some much needed things with those.
🤦♀️ they do get whatever they want. I’m hoping this go around they look at my registry because there are very specific things I am really needing/wanting.
Good to know about lanolin! (I bought 3 tubes of it when I was in pain from cracked nipples but after 2 weeks, no longer needed it for my nipples lol). I’m a first time mama with a 6 week old now, and have found your videos to be so so helpful during pregnancy & postpartum.
My husband is quite a loud person and we were bringing our baby to church so found baby headphones helpful for naps in the parenting room where there were kids playing (they could still hear things but it wasn't as loud) and really wanted to make sure he could sleep in all environments (light, dark, loud, quiet) and it's really made our lives SO MUCH EASIER our house ended up being the sound machine haha then we put a Google home in his room and used it for music at bedtime
I love that you added space saver bags! Such a helpful idea and it would be helpful to have them before you actually need them so you can start filling them up when baby starts outgrowing clothes. Thank you for this video.
I have hated the zip up sleepers. I love the Carter’s sleep and play snap sleepers. I find them much more convenient and they don’t run as tight as most zip up sleepers (my babies are big). You can easily check the diaper to see if wet or dirty, and you can keep their torso warm and covered while only opening the leg snaps. Plus I don’t feel like I’m breaking my child’s leg trying to shove it into the leg side without the zipper. I’m on baby #6.
I'm currently 30 weeks pregnant and unfortunately will not be able to use most items or creams related to breast feeding... I'm allergic to one thing and that is lanolin. Also, I'm in Canada where the Dock a tot and snuggle me organic are banned. Thank you for your efforts that went into making this video, much appreciated 👼
Going to add that swaddle! You made some great points about wanting hands by the face but preventing startle reflex! Totally agree with no button sleepers! Love the unfooted night gowns better than zip ups!
BEST LIST and so so helpful! I'm expecting my third baby and EVERYTHING you mentioned here is a must have!! You mentioned a few items that i hadn't thought of but would really help with a few new born struggles that I hadn't found a good solution yet (reusable freezer pads, a dark carseat cover and cloth diapers that i cannot wait to try and not have a huge milk mess!). And yes, GET ALL THREE carriers and try them out, each of my kids liked different ones at first and I wish i had just had them all there to try when I needed them!
I absolutely love your videos! I do homebirth and I'm pregnant with my 2nd . And I have like 5 pregnant friends right now. I love that I can recommend your stuff to my friends who plan on any birth style. You're so practical, encouraging, and knowledgeable.
I always use cloth diapers for burp cloths lol. My mom and sister gave me a huge stack of the carters type and i literally use them as kitchen rags instead because they dont work as spit up rags they dont absorb anything. The cloth diapers are good changing liners too since newborns and sometimes older babies will go while being changed so its easier to just toss it in the wash than clean up the whole mess some other way. And they make really good diapers if you buy a good brand too.
I'd love videos on wearing baby! My baby is 11 days old and we have no experience with getting her into a wrap yet. We have a wrap and a structured carrier.
I had to watch so many RUclips videos to figure out how to use a wrap when I had my last baby. It’s definitely not easy to figure out on your own. Once you get it down it’s really easy though and most of the different ways to wrap/wear are done very similarly so if you learn the newborn carry you pretty much have the other ones down too. Good luck & congratulations on your new baby 😊
Thanks for the helpful information! Just want to make a suggestion. Lanolin never worked for me, I found that breast shells worked immediately every time. I also felt so much more comfortable that my baby wasn’t eating lanolin, as safe as it is.
I’ve been watching a lot of your videos lately, trying to prepare for the arrival of my first baby (I’m due March 30th). Yesterday I found out that, because of the coronavirus, hospitals in my country are banning everybody from delivery rooms, from visiting, everything. That means my husband won’t be with me as I deliver and won’t even see our baby till we leave the hospital few days later (hopefully not longer than that). I’m honestly devastated. We were so exited to share this experience as a family. It’s so hard to wrap my head around the fact I’m going to go through the birth alone, but the worst part is that my husband will miss the birth of our child, the first feeding, first cuddles, first DAYS...I’m just so so sad. I don’t even know why I’m writing this comment...do you have any words of encouragement?:(
I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm due in a few weeks and I'm worried about the same thing. What country are you in? So far, I haven't heard this and I'm in the U.S.
rbene01 I’m in Poland. Everything is getting closed here: schools, restaurants, malls...which is a good thing, but it’s such a stressful time to be giving birth. Good luck with your delivery!
This is a really tough position to be in, Mama. I would try to appeal to your care provider and let them know that your partner is essential for your emotional well being and care. The CDC even recommends allowing women to have people who are PERTINENT to their well being even if this means a partner.
😭😭😭 that is so sad, I think the hospital should make exceptions based on the mother's needs. Even if it's just him nobody else! Surely he can just wear a mask or something. It's so important the emotional and physical well-being of the mother during labour!! Ohhhh hugs of sympathy is the best I can send to you, that is tough :(
I've seen so many of these videos and have been working on my registry for months but you've managed to get me to add several items!! I'm surprised, thanks for the informative videos!!
We loved the love to dream swaddle!!! It worked so well for my first son 5 years ago once he outgrew/hated the miracle blanket lol. Love that it doesn’t restrict him as much, but still provide some semblance of security.
I would love to see the video on baby wearing! Especially if you have any recommendations for twins. I need help figuring out how to wear twins or really any twin related things I would need for my registry too! :)
Brilliant video but PLEASE make sure you discuss that the dock a tot and snuggle me are not sleep safe. Babies much be supervised whilst sleeping in them at all times!
Just one thing that no one ever mentioned about zip sleepers that when you need change a nappy you need to zero all the zip down…baby gets cold (especially with dirty nappy not just wet). I like zip ones but must say that I prefer buttons one more just because I can open only the bottom of the sleeper and change nappy. This works great with the sleeping bag which have two zips. You can unzip sleeping bag from bottom up half way than open buttons on the sleepers half way. This way baby is still cozy and most important still snuggled at the upper body 😍 PS and this days the middle buttons are with a different colours to the rest of the buttons which helps you quickly closed the sleepers back 😁
That’s what zip UP sleepers are great for. You don’t have to open the zipper all the way from the top to the bottom but only halfway from bottom to middle
that love to dream swaddle and snuggle me organic are life. I used the snuggle me organic all the way up to almost 6 months for my first and she absolutely loved it. and the love to dream swaddle is amazing used that up until she was about a year the transition and size range is great
Good video! But dock a tots are not safe for sleeping… I feel like there are better places to set baby that is safe that is not an item that is connected to increased risk of SIDS
Thank you so much for this informative yet direct video. Loved it! I usually fast forward be ahead people talk a lot an never get to the point. However, you were so clear and knowledgeable. This first time mommy is grateful. Thank you!
Is the car seat cover breathable? Don't want to make it hot/hard to breathe in the car seat for my baby. Thank you. Very helpful video for a first time mom!
Thank you! As a mother myself, I don't think all of these are "must-have", we did just fine without many of them. But I do have to appreciate how practical your tips are and... why in the world didn't I think of the vacuum bags myself? :D We were getting them for something else but not for the baby clothes that take up so much space... seriously. :D Thank you! Also, I love that you think of the environment. The moment you mentioned *reusable* breast pads, I was clapping my hands loudly. And they are so much more comfortable too! Btw, sadly, lanolin is super expensive in my country. I wonder how the market works that it's so cheap in the US... slightly envious of you. We have some good products for the things you mentioned, but of course it requires us to have a special tube for breasts and one for baby butt and another one for eczema... I too wish I could just have one thing for everything. Thank you for the great tips! Now I'm gonna sit down and make a list. :))
I had already finished my registry before watching this, but it was good to know a lot of the things I'd found were the main items! I'm curious of your opinion, should a breastfed baby have a pacifier and if so, how? I want to give it my best shot! I did request the animal pacifier you suggested after a friend said it was easier for her baby to get in its own mouth as she grew.
Mamas there are so many carriers available. You do not need a million!!! Get one that does it all. Front/back and hip !!! Yes get a hello baby monitor with NO WIFI NO APPS!!! Def need a sound machine!! I got all of these my babes is 1 month old
I think lanolin can make some people itch, if you get itchy from a woolly sweater, it's because wool naturally has lanolin in it, which is the allergen
Do you recommend co-sleeping? I noticed you mentioned this when talking about the snuggleme/dockatot. Def think it would be great for you to do a video on this if so.
Hi Bridget, I'm so happy that I've found your channel. Your video are very helpfull with a lot of good information. As a first time mom I find it hard to decide what's best baby wearing for babies born between end of spring and beginning of summer. A video about that would be great! Thanks!
Thank you for all of this information! As a first time Mama (due with my little boy in May 2022!), I'm feeling daunted by all I should get, so this list is so helpful! I am curious - are the Snuggle Me and DockaTot lounge beds meant to be instead of a bassinet or to replace a bassinet? We already have a crib, but I'm trying to decide if we need a bassinet and what kind, so when I saw you recommend this idea I just wanted to make sure I understood it's intent. Thanks so much!
They shouldn’t really be used for sleeping (unless you are truly eyeballs on them). But they can be used as a spot for baby to chill in when they’re awake!
This is the best registry list I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen at least a hundred videos about this!! I’m on my second pregnancy and could not agree more with your recommendations.
The carseat cover should not be used while the baby is sleeping as you won't be able to see them and monitor their sleep. Babies have already died by being left in their carseat to sleep outside of the car. Always make sure you can see your child and do not leave them to sleep in a capsule. Please 😢
This is nice but many of us are canceling and unable to have baby-showers due to Coronavirus. I’m not complaining because people are losing lives but pretending this doesn’t exist doesn’t seem right.
I don’t think she is ignoring the virus. Presents are always welcomed but as a parent you should be able to provide the things you need. I put my registry online but also got the big things because a lot of people are tight on finances.
I don’t think she’s pretending it doesn’t exist. There are a lot of moms that appreciate the information and her channel is about moms and babies. If people want to hear about the Coronavirus they can watch the news etc. Moms to be still deserve a baby shower/ registry and should be allowed to experience a pregnancy with as much celebration and support they can get. Yes people are suffering and dying and it is very tragic but there are a lot of moms to be too. Also if you ad items to a registry and no one gifts the items to you, the moms to be can get discounts on those items.
Please note that Amazon don't deliver free welcome box to Canada. It's only for US. Plus the 15% discount doesn't apply to all the remaining products in your registry. It only applies to certain low priced items.
I loved having a mirror to see baby in the back seat until my husband bought me a camera from Amazon that comes with a little screen to sit on my dash so I can just glance at it every now and then.
Loved using my carrier/wraps! Sadly had to stop doing it majority of time because of back issues. What would you recommend best for that? I read equipment Saratoga are really good.. But so pricey. In regards to baby monitors, be careful about something with wifi as that can have negative health effects especially for babies. I've never felt the needed to use a monitor personally, we co sleep and live in an apartment/flat so easily hear baby if napping in next room. With my soon to be new arrival I might consider a sound machine! I would love to try a snug bad, I currently just have a side cot for co sleeping until baby is big enough to be in bed. These are so expensive.. Never swaddled wasnt sure what was so important about it..? Honestly zips I find dangerous. The button up onesies are just fine they are no big deal lol! Will try vacuum bags as I currently keep things organised in bin bags. Good idea Never felt the need for a pacifier/dummy.. boob all the way lol only when they need a little comfort.. Didn't get cradle cap for my first we'll see for next one. Honestly I feel like a muslin cloth with oil would do the same thing We used baby nail scissors which I still use on my toddler. More easier though in general is not easy! We used a steamy shower to humidify lol. I loved the nose Frida! So handy. Lanolin you have to be careful that it isn't causing allergy too as some people do have that. I found weleda nipple cream which had lanolin was excellent but pure lanolin wasn't the best for me.. That's such an interesting idea using cloth inserts for burp cloths! As a south asian we use a watering jug style container to clean ourselves with water before wiping anyway. So handy. Ooh I really want to try the haaka! Though I will be trying tandem bfing to see how it works. I loved my breastpads. I think the most breastfeeding friendly clothing is buttoned or wrap style long dresses which make dressing easy Honestly nicely presented video but a few of these things I find pretty unnecessary! Different strokes for different folks I guess. I think the carrier / wraps was the best thing for me as for first 4 months I was unable to use a stroller and it was so handy.

Personal note: Lanolin did not feel good as a nipple cream to me, it's kinda like spreading cold butter on soft bread.
With the snap button ones you don't have so much bulk and it's perfectly smooth on their skin and once you get the hang of them it's not such a hustle in the night anymore ;)
My absolute must haves were:
-Burp cloths (lot of them lol)
-comfy clothes over cute outfits (like onsies and footed overalls)
- thick comfy crawl blanket for the floor
-a carrier or sling/wrap
- two receiving blankets (one knitted and one thin versatile cloth blanket)
-a monitor (I only ever had the ones that transfer sound, no video)
-a crib that attaches to your bed side but provides baby with a safe space to sleep so you couldn't accidentally roll over but keeps baby close at night, also makes night time nursing so much easyer)
-a good bum cream
-comfy no wire nursing bras and nursing pads
I think those were all my essentials :) hope this helps some other mamas out there
Not sure why you felt the need to try to one up this RUclips vlogger by posting your personal preferences.
I like your list, thank you. I have to be a minimalist mom, unfortunately, so I need absolute basics. Also, I'm not having a baby shower.
I actually can’t stand snap on clothes. I like the zipper or magnets. I’ve taken care of hundreds of babies.
Not sure how this came off offensive, but I like this list too 🤷🏽♀️
28 weeks pregnant and I actually had every single one of these things on my registry already or have already purchased - so thankful that you confirmed these items instead of people who told me some of the things were "extra" or "not needed".
This is super helpful!
Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it 🤷🏼♀️
My heart almost jumped out of my chest when you said that you can put the "Dock-a-tot" on the kitchen table to keep an eye on the baby.
Same !!! I was like "WHAT ?! On kitchen table ???"
I feel like she meant like, while she’s sitting at the table, or something surely? I like to think it’s common sense not to leave your baby on the kitchen table but i also know not all mommas are as paranoid as I am lol. Thank you for clarifying this though because some people listening might not know better!
Wow the weird negativity in the comments is super strange. Love these suggestions! This is my first pregnancy and makes things less overwhelming!
you can't buy the Doc a Tot here in Canada because they are considered suffocation risks to the baby. I believe you can still buy a snuggle me organic but again it should not be used as a bed if unsupervised. Otherwise a lot of these items were very helpful
It's not just MAMAS watching this I'm a soon to be dad watching with my wife.. give the dada a shout out too... LOL :D
Gio’s Adventures agreed, more gender inclusive language would be great.
Yay dads!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
You're so sweet
Seriously! This is the one time it’s about the moms! Let’s us have ONE thing!
“Watching with my wife” a mama lol
Maybe she’s having a heart to heart with mama’s 😂

I’m 30 weeks tomorrow with #1❤️
@@eliseromo7116 congratulations!!❤🥰 pray you have a blessed and smooth delivery and a healthy momma and baby
There's some really great new products out there, but if they're buy direct or Amazon only, not enough research to convince me.
what about the snuggle me organic one? does the same safety hazard apply?
@M K yes same issue. They are not safe for sleep.

The spike is probably the Covid vaxxes
Good list! Those hoping to use cloth diapers might be interested to know that snapping sleepers make it much easier to check for soiled diapers without disturbing baby.
I agree. Also, I liked the nightgowns that go past the baby's feet and gather a little at the bottom.
Jessie Balson story of my life right now! 🤦🏽♀️ Just use the registry people 😂
Amirah Heath the thing is, all I put on there were things we truly needed: a place for baby to sleep, changing pad, baby first aid/grooming kit, and some more expensive needs (furniture for the off chance anybody wanted to help us out with that).
I read that the ban is because dock a tots have suffocation risks, I'm assuming the same for snuggle me.
The Snuggle Me LITERALLY SAYS it's not intended for naps.
yup, not save for sleeping when your not having an eye on the baby, not recommended and very expensive :/
Yes, please do a baby wearing video
This was a great video!

As a soon to be 4th time newborn mom I couldn't agree more.
Did you make a video on the details of different baby carriers? I haven't seen one!
What in the world! I’m so sorry! I would switch care providers and have a birth center or home birth! I couldn’t imagine this happening.
I'm surprised, thanks for the informative videos!!
where is the link to your registry…i would like to buy you gguys something from it.
We loved the love to dream swaddle!!! It worked so well for my first son 5 years ago once he outgrew/hated the miracle blanket lol. Love that it doesn’t restrict him as much, but still provide some semblance of security.
Does the diaper fund apply to cloth diapers as well?
I would love to see the video on baby wearing! Especially if you have any recommendations for twins. I need help figuring out how to wear twins or really any twin related things I would need for my registry too! :)
Thank you, just watching this because I work at a baby store and get asked it’s all the time.
Brilliant video but PLEASE make sure you discuss that the dock a tot and snuggle me are not sleep safe. Babies much be supervised whilst sleeping in them at all times!
You’re the best! I am 19 weeks pregnant and just love all your content, it is so helpful!

Hope you had a healthy and easy birth!
I have birth myself, almost 3 weeks ago!
This way baby is still cozy and most important still snuggled at the upper body 😍
PS and this days the middle buttons are with a different colours to the rest of the buttons which helps you quickly closed the sleepers back 😁
That’s what zip UP sleepers are great for. You don’t have to open the zipper all the way from the top to the bottom but only halfway from bottom to middle
that love to dream swaddle and snuggle me organic are life. I used the snuggle me organic all the way up to almost 6 months for my first and she absolutely loved it. and the love to dream swaddle is amazing used that up until she was about a year the transition and size range is great
Wish I'd made my registry on Amazon then linked it to babylist. Besides benefits you mentioned you also get a much longer return window that way.
Good video! But dock a tots are not safe for sleeping… I feel like there are better places to set baby that is safe that is not an item that is connected to increased risk of SIDS
Hi! I'd definitely watch a video on 'babywearing', I'm soon on my third trimester and will be purchasing at least 2 different slings/wraps/etc
scarephin me too!
It’s worth it you don’t even know what the baby will like until they come! My baby is almost two months and he can be picky! Lol
Hi I love your videos. I am 30 weeks pregnant. I would love to know about how to give your new born bath and which bath tub do you recommend??
Thank you so much for this informative yet direct video. Loved it! I usually fast forward be ahead people talk a lot an never get to the point. However, you were so clear and knowledgeable. This first time mommy is grateful. Thank you!
Is the car seat cover breathable? Don't want to make it hot/hard to breathe in the car seat for my baby. Thank you. Very helpful video for a first time mom!
What do you think about an Owlet?
Besides a few things I didn’t actually want, I had most of these on my registry already!☺️
Besides a lounger like the snuggle me, do you use any rockers like the Baby Bjorn? If so what is your favorite/safest brand
This is by far the most helpful video I've watched on registry essentials. Thank you!!!
I dont have one but Id love to try the hatch! How safe is it as far as EMF?
3rd time mom here. Solid advice!
For the baby humidifier can you put esencial oils in it ?
Hey Bridget, did you ever make a baby wearing video? I’d love to know more about all three types! Thanks!
i just had my tiffany & co. themed baby shower for my baby girl coming any day now 🤱🏻💕
THANK YOU!!!!! I was definitely feeling overwhelmed and this made it so simple for me!
The most helpful/realistic newborn must haves video yet! Thank you!
Such a great video! I loved the way you explained everything! Thank you so much for this video! It really is very helpful! ❤️🤰🏻
Thank you so much! We were feeling a bit overwhelmed but this list gives us a good base!
Dok a tot is not sleep safe thought…
The vast majority of this I never needed/wanted. I think it is pretty hard to have a universal list of what people might need.
Is lanolin nontoxic? I just worry about putting anything on nipples that are going in the babies mouth
Where did you get your bassinet and cover? I watched your baby Ava birth video and LOVE your bassinet!
How does a ring sling differ from a wrap? I have a wrap and a structured carrier on my registry but had not thought of the sling.
Do you have car seat or stroller recommendations?
Do you have recommendations for bottle feeding?
Mamas there are so many carriers available. You do not need a million!!! Get one that does it all. Front/back and hip !!! Yes get a hello baby monitor with NO WIFI NO APPS!!! Def need a sound machine!! I got all of these my babes is 1 month old
I think lanolin can make some people itch, if you get itchy from a woolly sweater, it's because wool naturally has lanolin in it, which is the allergen
Do you recommend co-sleeping? I noticed you mentioned this when talking about the snuggleme/dockatot. Def think it would be great for you to do a video on this if so.
yes a baby wearing video would be awesome!
Hi Bridget, I'm so happy that I've found your channel. Your video are very helpfull with a lot of good information. As a first time mom I find it hard to decide what's best baby wearing for babies born between end of spring and beginning of summer. A video about that would be great! Thanks!
Do you have changes to this list? I thought i heard on a more recent video there was a different pacifier you recommend.
Advice from a dad as of two days ago. Take snacks to the hospital because the institutional food for 2 or 3 days is gross.
What is the difference between the 2 baby monitors? Would much appreciate 😊😊😊
Due date in less than a week and I'm happy to see I've got most of these! Made me feel rather reassured
Just came across your comment, hope everything went well and motherhood is treating you well!
Please 😢
As I’m watching this my husband asked me where my lanolin nipple cream was because his lips were dry 😆 Literally for everything though!
This is nice but many of us are canceling and unable to have baby-showers due to Coronavirus. I’m not complaining because people are losing lives but pretending this doesn’t exist doesn’t seem right.
Drive-by showers have been a hit lately! Keeps everyone safe while helping mama prepare for little one. Way cheaper too 😊
I don’t think she is ignoring the virus.
Do you have recommendations for strollers?
I see that you put aloe Vera gel on your postpartum amazon page, what do you use it for? Thank you so much for all of your videos and encouragement!😘
Your videos are so helpful for this 1st time momma! Also in the San Francisco area
You are so helpful and well spoken. Thank you!!!
omg this is incredibly helpful, thank you sooo much!!!
Good idea
Never felt the need for a pacifier/dummy.. boob all the way lol only when they need a little comfort..
Didn't get cradle cap for my first we'll see for next one. Honestly I feel like a muslin cloth with oil would do the same thing
We used baby nail scissors which I still use on my toddler.
I think the most breastfeeding friendly clothing is buttoned or wrap style long dresses which make dressing easy
Honestly nicely presented video but a few of these things I find pretty unnecessary! Different strokes for different folks I guess.
I think the carrier / wraps was the best thing for me as for first 4 months I was unable to use a stroller and it was so handy.
Is the cradle cap brush safe for all hair types?
Can you use lanolin with cloth nappies?
This is exactly what i needed. Thank you!!!!!!
Wonderful video for this first time mommy! Ty so very much!
