Some of my best memories are of my brother and me exploring junkyards, while our father pulled his needed parts. Now I enjoy living vicariously through y’all as you’re looking for restorable treasures and needed parts to sell or trade.
Yea,been watching all this series, lots of parts and pieces, put 2 or 3 together there ,could have something, yea,I remember the car you wanted that disappeared at the other auction, great video thumbs up
I remember junkyards like that in my part of the world long ago! The fields of broken dreams were all cleared away and the rusting hulks have gone to auto recyclers.
You guys continue to amaze. You seem to gravitate to vehicles that are the most difficult to load. Now you are expanding the challenges by buying junk that is far from home. Couldn’t you just drive to Hutch and have Silas gently set rigs on your trailer?
Thanks so much for making the video. My wife thinks i am crazy for sitting and watching a load of old cars in a field😊. I am fascinated seeing trees growing through cars.
Love these old car hoards but cant help think of how contaminated the soil must be. I saw many cars like i have had in that field , same colors even. Those mustangs had that rubber grill that contorts in extreme weather ! My firends Mom bought a 67 Chevy like that in purple and drove it through the 80's and parked in the backyard. A family member got it and cleaned it up and get it road worthy. It was quite weathered looking but a cool old car.
Been there a few weeks ago before all the X’s and I was surprised I didn’t find anything in a condition I thought was worth hauling. You have a keener eye than I do. Good haul.
My first vehicle was a '74 F100, with a 240 inline 6 and a 3 on the tree. It was a long bed, with a bench seat and split grill. Baby blue. I wish I could find it and restore it.
Noticing that Vista Cruiser, near the crusher, I think that I might start collecting them. No matter what year, what condition, or wear they sit. I am going to be the Vista Cruiser whisperer.
That would have been my pick of the yard as well, I think. Many years ago I bought a '69 bubbletop Vista for the engine for my then Cutlass. The rest of the Vista Cruiser eventually ended up in the junkyard. These were not that uncommon at the time, and I was a teenager in a time where wagons or anything with 4 doors was not cool. I did not realize how special these are. No car has haunted me more than that one.
3:00...once again, another good(by eastern standards) 67-72 Chevy pickup bed there I sure could use...and that nobody out west seems to even care about...
If I had the skills, I would be going into junkyards myself and I would be doing a full restoration from bodywork to the mechanical restoration. I'd restore a car and make it look like it came off the showroom floor.
Such a difference from other areas of Texas rust wise I did see a Buick wagon with the glass roof panels like a vista cruiser if that roof could be saved I'm sure someone would want it maybe to build a custom 70's van anyway thanks for bringing us along and Merry Christmas to you and Joe and your families from Karl from eastern Canada
If you try to save these cars, to be definitively efficient against rust , you should put grease everywhere. grease is the only thing very efficient against rust. put grease between metal and carpet, inside door, behind metallic bumper, under the vehicle, behind the repairs you can make (everywhere inside the body - hidden erea - instead of using paint), hollow areas (necessarily hidden, so no need to be aesthetic). For rear wings unreachable with a paintbrush, use an extender and poor old oil everywhere each year. Rust almost always comes from the inside and welds. Handyman Experience - 35 years. From france
Very cool short wheelbase Ford pickem up Truck Learned to drive three on the tree in a 71 short wheel base plate side p/u when I was a kid driving parts delivery at a Ford dealership ! That Bill’s taxi was cool it reminded me of mom‘s old four-door AMC ambassador we had years ago ! Saw a bunch of cool cars there and parts I need were they going to crush all of them ?!
Slowly they are getting crushed out. It's near Austin Texas if you are close enough to go. Keep in mind these are much worse than the camera shows them - I mostly pulled glass and trim
@@mr.goodpliers6988 That’s cool I could tell some of them looked pretty rusty I like that 56 Oldsmobile two-door door post that was close to where y’all were loading up your trailer and also I needed some doors for my 79 Ford pick up truck I saw they had a few of those there but I know once they start crushing all the turds will go first !
If you pause it at 2:19 the dark green 4dr to the right I had 1 except mine was a 2dr might of been the same mine was a 70 ford Galaxie XL sportsroof I picked up in mesa AZ for 4,200 had a 429 thunderjet 2bbl holley carb with MSD ignition sadly I sold it for 1,200 my dad made me she was a daily driver so it was either give her away or scrap her and I gave her away and my friends dad owns my galaxie now its worth 22k.
FIAT: Fix It Again Tony... I'm sorry, Tim, but sometimes I think your videos should be titled, "Hunting With Joe." No offense, just funning! I like Joe's truck, it's a beast. The equivalent would be The Ice Man's Ram 3500 from Garth's Graveyard Garage. Both trucks, I like those. Yeah, 2 different makes and models,, but both great workhorses.
Them 65 to 68 chev impalas in 4 door hardtops were common in Australia right up to the 1980,s,, some pontiacs also in 4 door hardtops. They would sell for $1500 in clean original driving condition all 327 chev 4 barrel powerglide cars.,, zero rust. these are beautifull cars.
Nice to see any old vehicle being saved. With that said, do you really need one's in such rough condition? You go to so many yards that have lots of cars in very restorable condition compared to these.
So many old American, European and Japanese iron gone, Glad they ended up saving some of these while the others are gonna get crushed and thus recycled into something new (guaranteed it's not gonna be something what would someone would like). Sometimes you save what you can save, and there's some you can't not save as most of these are rusted to an oblivion. Now i wanna try to think of these vehicles will come back as a virtual replica in some sort of game or CGI replica or whatever i could think of seeing them before they were crushed and turned into some freakin EV like a KIA or those Teslas, i just got to think of what they used to look like before they became an unlikable KIA or Tesla. Pretty much every older vehicle these days are gonna get harder to find, and the fact that EV vehicles are gonna get more popular or something is something that i consider ridiculous.. Save what you can, and if there is anything that can't be saved, it's gotta go, i hate it when it happens, once it's destroyed, it's lost and gone forever and will never be made again, it hurts really bad, and it's such a shame, but what's got to be done, has to be done. Guess this video (and probably some other videos about this junkyard) will serve as a memory to what those vehicles used to look to like before the crusher.
Yes the owner died and it is being crushed out. The lion's share of what is there is just parts cars. It's a long drive to Taylor Texas but if you look up "closing salvage yard" on Facebook Marketplace you will find Matt's ad
that shortbox is beautiful! it 'followed' you out like it was begging to be spared, lol
that was a great video Mr. Goodpliers, I love your commentary👍
You guys are the masters of innovation getting that stuff out of there
Would love to see this little Datsun truck at 9:50 brought back to life and restored.
Got yourself another great project!
Great job saving another vehicle from the crusher guys! Hope you guys have a great x-mas!
Only thing crazy is that you didn’t take that sweet sweet Chevy Chevette. Fully restored its a $175 car.
Not with a big block!!500 at least!!
But you can tell the ladies you will pick them up in a Vette.

that Falcon Ford window van is a collectable!!!!
At 4:20 Rare blue Toyota Celica GT 1976/1977 Restored here in the Netherlands, worth 15,000 euros or much more
When was the last time a 79 Mustang hit an 82 K car indeed! I guess about a second ago. Good stuff!!! The Dr. Pepper truck has good bones.
Did you see how close it came to hitting the '79 Cougar.
I LOVE these types of episodes
Excellent mr pliers & Joe happy holidays cheers 🥂 😊

IT IS ALWAYS FUN PICKING A VEHICLE TO RESTORE. I SEEN A CHEVROLET STATION WAGON I LIKED.
Let me get that door, naw it'll be alright...Crunch!
That F series utility box truck is a BEAST... towed that one axled Mustang sideways ...
And the bump side too 😳 LOL
Glad you got that Dodge Monaco front clip!
Amazing looking over all those poor rusty things and imagine the day they were all brand new vehicles! Crazy
You guys continue to amaze. You seem to gravitate to vehicles that are the most difficult to load. Now you are expanding the challenges by buying junk that is far from home. Couldn’t you just drive to Hutch and have Silas gently set rigs on your trailer?
Hey that shortie van looked interesting 😊
Thanks so much for making the video. My wife thinks i am crazy for sitting and watching a load of old cars in a field😊.
I am fascinated seeing trees growing through cars.
You could'nt find a longer pickup truck to pull those vehicles out ? Lol . Merry Christmas , Happy New Year !
Hey buddy I hope you and your family have a wonderful blessed merry Christmas and a happy new year 🎉
Mavericks are becoming big now. A maverick grabber is a good choice.
here in texas same way unless it sunk in ground then the dirt ruins the floor boards im sure u know that bein an expert that you are love your videos
That will make a really nice truck and know you are not crazy so good to see you saving those old cars and trucks

Great channel, Merry Christmas to you and Joe (and families of course).
Been there a few weeks ago before all the X’s and I was surprised I didn’t find anything in a condition I thought was worth hauling. You have a keener eye than I do. Good haul.
Most of the rest of what's there is just all rust. I pulled a lot of parts, but mainly bright trim and glass. Very few body panels
Glad you saved the 67 impala . Sam and Dean Winchester be happy you saved Baby
My first vehicle was a '74 F100, with a 240 inline 6 and a 3 on the tree. It was a long bed, with a bench seat and split grill. Baby blue. I wish I could find it and restore it.
Yup! I think ya'll are crazy............I see a few that would make killer rat rods :)

Where
IIRC, Desert Valley Auto Parts in Az has one. Rick DeBrule highlighted it on the Steve Magnante channel last month.

that white van worth a look? Dodge?

Very cool!
I got a 20R Toyota motor for the Celica. It ran when I pulled it out of my rusted out 1979 before I junked it over twenty years ago. 😅

Imagine all the left behind vehicles sobbing silently.
Just like a dog pound.

The 60s Dodge A100 van looked okay.

I wouldn’t, but I have to respect someone who would.
77 Celica is a neat body style from Japan . they sold millions of them
Thank you for the video
The 76-77 celica h/b is worth some thing as parts if it not restorable
that old ford truck is nice.that will sell for sure!!
To think,,in 1981,,my brother&I,,drove his chevvett,,to the top of mount evans,Colorado,,.😮😮😮😮,,,we made it home😂

You are nice crazy guys.
Rust never stops.
That short bed truck is worth a lot more than that lowly 4 door chevie.
Maybe the side trim off the 2 door 56 Olds.
I was thinking I need the e brake light switch and bulb socket out of that car for my '55.
The Ford is a homerun.!

I would of taken a closer look at that blue Mazda pickup. Looked like a Mazda cool little trucks.
That 72 Ford pick up is ready for a crown vic frame swap😊
My soul hurt watching that 79 Mustang being drug around.

It's not often you see a bump side with the chrome trim still on the bump. Usually all that trim is long gone.
I saw a vista cruiser in there.
Handsome old boy {the truck not Goodliers or Joe }. 😉
That Chevy luv truck at the end of that row with that ford truck you snagged was pretty cool. How bad was it?
All of the imports were rusty
What state is this in if they rust like that? Never heard of a rusting that way before.
Thank you for the video Merry Christmas.
Somewhere in Texas. Along the coast.
Just east of Austin... but too close to salty air
Nice to see any old vehicle being saved. With that said, do you really need one's in such rough condition? You go to so many yards that have lots of cars in very restorable condition compared to these.
Shortbed bumpsides are pretty hot right now...
Yep, you're crazy. should have taken the white Dodge D-100 van.
I like the rust we have here in Phoenix. Turns interiors to dust.
Merry Christmas to you and Joe
Tim you and Joe have another movie vehicle, Clint Eastwood THE MULE
What a shame. Not just this yard but all over.
What is the Great Lakes edition? Does it come from the factory missing the bottom foot of the car?
You should see western Washington and western Oregon the rain capitals of the world
When is the last time a 79 Mustang hit an 82 K Car? 😂 that was great
It almost hit a '79 Cougar before the Aries.
I have a 72 f100 ranger with all trim ac unit 360 auto little gas in carb and battery will start needs head job
I would be interested in the Ranger pickup please let me know how much you would be asking for it Tim
That' mustang was rough really rough ❓
5:11 Aussies and SE Asians will buy that grill on ebay. They only gt the ST grill.
Where you at? I see a Maverick.
Hey, don’t scratch the K car!
That Pinto station wagon is desirable for me. Restore it and drive the shit out of it. 😊
Woo volvo 144- 1974 ❤❤❤
I have never seen any keep a loaf of bread on the dashboard😮
It's a upside down 4pk of bagels .
no, It was a loaf of bread. We ate PB&J sandwiches all weekend.
@@jjMcCartan9686
You looked to be scraping the barrel.
Yall gonna eat those Sarah Lee bagles?😂😂
That was a loaf of bread. We ate PB&J's all weekend 🙂
Mr. Goodpliers : You need to join Silas in the scrap metal business. A lot less work and a lot more money.
I don't know about the less work part.
I feel like I'd rather sell parts at several hundred dollars a pound than pennies a pound 😉
Anybody can haul scrap. Talent saves the metal!
There was a few. High dollar reseller. Cars u passed up
👍👍👍👍
I met you at a auction in Miami Oklahoma
did you ever see any rattlesnakes?
We were promised at least one or two in every car, but never even saw a snakeskin
What about that White 81-93 Dodge Ram ?

All those Rat-rods going to be crashed, and if yous noticed Mr. Goodpliers...never says Rat-rods...!
I saw a lot of killer rat rods too! Rat Rod Bob would love it!
I wouldn't have took that mustang if you gave it to me
Is the salvage yard going out of business
I'm trying to find something I can buy to make a project I've seen a couple of vehicles I'm interested in

Where is this junkyard?
It's near Taylor Texas. They made it partway, then it started raining - so they probably won't be back to crush again until March or so
@@mr.goodpliers6988 Thanks for letting me know.
Yeah yeah get you something junk of rusting art for yard maybe ….?….👀
