Here i go over why i still use these boxes for my mastering chain in my mpc live mk2 or my mpc one.
The sp 404 mk2 and the analog heat mk2 are a staple in my mastering chain, especially for a standalone workflow production. It is a must-have for mixing and mastering in the mpc live mk2.

Love the 404... all of them. Use my MK2 all the time. I combine eq then 303 sim effect for mastering. Sometimes also the BR-900CD Recorder FX. Nonjuror uses the 404 cassette sim then compressor for his Mastering sometimes. Just depends on the flavor that sounds best to you. Love making music with hardware samplers more than my computer. Never tried the Analog Heat with it's 8 distortion circuits, filter, and EQ. Maybe someday, but I've got my eyes on something else first. 😁 Keep it up Malo. Keep the videos and teaching coming. I Have The LIVE 2 With ALL The Goodies, Also I Have The FULL Version Of FL STUDIO With Well Over 100 Additional Plug ins From Outside Vendors, Some Free Some are Not... I Was Leaning Towards The SP404, only Because I Enjoy Hittin Dem Buttons So Much, Lol... But I Also Love The Technical Parts Of Mastering Inside Of My DAW, Largely Due To IZOTOPE'S Plug In's Which I Own The EVERYTHING Bundle and Neutron 4 and Now OZONE 10 & RX 10 Gives Me Unlimited Possibilities... And They're Easy To Work With Once You Watch Their Tutorials On How To Use Them. Bouncing Tracks Out To Master Is Such A Rewarding Feeling because Once I Finish With My Beats In The MPC, I Always Think "IT CAN"T GET NO BETTER THAN THIS"... Then OZONE 10 ALWAYS PROOVES ME WRONG... SMDH, But In A GOOD WAY.

MPC Live + SP303 + SP404mk2 is my chain.
Yeh that process and reasoning behind it is very relatable. Not that I produce music/beats like you do (I usually just jam and mess with sound creation), but I prefer the "hands-on" approach. Got Ableton and Reaper and though they are amazing, I lose enthusiasm menu diving and spoiled for choice. Recently got a Poly Effects Beebo to integrate with MPC One volcas and small eurorack system, as well as a few cheap guitar pedals. Works for me. Bless ya Malo.

404 is the best sampler on the market. I love my MPC but sampling on the 404 top tier.

@@DanielIvan707 it has a better sound. I’ve found how to get my MPC to sound almost identical but it’s still a different sound

I'm trying to sell my SP404 SX, trying to do it all in my MPC!
At this point, it’s definitely an option and it is possible, when it comes down to riding your effects, just a personal opinion, but I have a bit more fun with the SX but the MPC still gives you the options to ride those effects. It’s really impressive what they are doing with these new plug-ins.
Thank you for another grat video. I understand why you are using fx pedals / the 404 or the analog head but for me it is too much to carry with. Got me a case, a mobile stand and a powerbank for my mpc one and I'm fine with that till this day. I am in the exact same situation /wife / kids / sleeping while I want to make some beats and I've sold all my usb midi gear and bought me the mpc one, some synthesizers an e e-guitar because I can use headphones for that. I know there is a looper build in the mpc one but I've never seen a function to use it for live jam's. My friend an I meet us once in 3 month for jaming together and I would like to use the mpc one as an looper in the classic way... I would like to make a beat, arrange it and save it. When I will meet my friend (both of us got only very short time for the session... he got 3 kids -.-) I would like to load up the beat, start playing it and the mpc plays the whole beat step by step like in this sequences "1-1-2-1-3-2-1-2-4" Then I would like to record our line 1 instrumet simultaneously while playing the whole beat in sequences and not only in 4 bars. Is that even possible with the mpc one? It would be great. I can plugin my microfreak and hes playing the e-guitar and we could use the stereo inputs each for one instrument. Sry 4 my english. Man, you hit it right in the nail. I’ve been considering getting rid of certain gear here in the studio since it could get very cluttering fast specially, when we’re all sharing the same room with the family lol don’t get me wrong having lots of gear it’s so much fun when you have a dedicated place for it but as of right now for me, I’m thinking of dialing it down a bit in just keeping a handful of tools that I really need. I’m sure there’s a lot of people in the same situation as we are in, so thank you for sharing the input as we can all relate to it. I myself have not use much of the looper in the MPC but I feel there’s not much content out there for that functionality within the MPC.
Can‘t you just arrange the whole piece of music in song mode completely and then just press record (on an audio track would be best I think) and jam to the whole thing? I think that would be possible!

Hey Malo! I'm using mpc from start to finish, making beat->mixing->mastering->exporting as wav. No laptop no DAW. How could I apply SP MK2 EFXs on the master and still dont leave my standalone workflow? How do you apply these SP efxs on your master, do you resample beat from mpc into the Sp? Am I missing something 🤔?
Got the same question, just got me the analog heat and going out of the MPC into it and then? Like do I just go back into the MPC and record the effected sound again?
Resampling. I make my beat in one long seq on the mpc with track mutes, record that to a pad on the 404 using xyfx. Resample to another 404 pad, use eq/compression then resample back into mpc performing the beat with the 404 fx . I never turn on my computer. I put a splitter on the inputs of my mpc so i can keep my turntable and 404 connected. I sample into the mpc, trim and then color with 404 and back into mpc. 😂 sounds like a lot but I love it that way!
