Universal Thread Restorer Tool

A look at the universal thread restorer tool. This is a self adjusting thread repair / chase tool that can be slipped on the side of a bolt/fastener. This self adjusts between metric, SAE, an other thread pitches such as Acme threads. When used with a bit of grease or cutting oil, this can clean up damaged threads; it may not clean them up 100% but it should be enough to get the job done.

Also, cutting oil may work well.

It's hard to tell from here, but that looks like an Acme thread to me. I suspect the restorer tool will work better on threads with a sharp apex.
