i freaked tf out when i found this band back in the day, and fell in love even more after their Unimagine album that showed even deeper lyrics. fucking love this band
This was and always will be me and my best friend's favorite song. He passed away last Friday and I've been listening to this ever since. I'll never forget you Jeffrey.
there is not a single flaw with this band, for their genre and originality of music production i give them an A+ thank you for providing my ears with never ending nectar from the sweetest plant known to mankind.
I agree, but change is hard even if it is necessary. I listen to their new album DIssonants and it will never compare to this Ground Dweller album, but they felt it was needed.
got a tattoo of this song back when it came out, the memory of HLH seeing it at their show in my city still makes me so happy ❤ they were so nice lol. they took pictures on their phones, and i remember alexander saying "im gonna send this to my mom" 😂 sweet boys, i hope you're still doing well.
They performed this yesterday as opening act at the Sleeping With Sirens concert in London. If anything, after seeing them live I must say I love them even more. You could sense how excited they were to be on the stage, and they even took a photo at the end because they wanted to keep the memory. I thought it was so sweet and I'm proud of them :)
"This song is about growing up-being taught to stay grounded while reaching for your dreams, so that you’re stronger and able to keep pushing for them even when you’re knocked down." Hands Like Houses This song is amazing!
Saw these guys live, they are INSANE! The most humble, genuine guys! I met the band and they are great guys, I can't wait for them to come back to Texas!
Thank god this band covered one of my favorite songs on the punk goes 90's volume 2 CD, because if they hadn't I wouldn't be listening to their perfection basically non-stop right now. I love them.
I still love this song, ever since it came out. I loved it in 2012 and I will love it for the rest of my life; I am getting the ground dweller cover art tattooed on me in memory of this song! It'll be lit!
I can't say that these guys SOUND all that unique... on the surface... but the familiarity and generic-ness belies their true nature. Having listened to this album on repeat the past 2 days, I can say without a doubt that these guys are great songwriters in their own right, and most definitely have their musical moments. You don't have to be completely unique or groundbreaking to be talented, and these guys have only helped further prove that to me.
They have inspired me so much in my life in my darkestmoments and dreadful times, they always put that rare sparkling smike on my face, they have inspired me to agree with who I really am inside and out, they have helped my to confront those bullies and those suicidal thoughts, and they have inspired me to live my life as long as I posibly can, There the reason why I stand up from my self and dont let this world bring me down, hands like houses is like the missing peace of who I am,
Beat me to it haha. I was so relieved when they said that, one of the things I like about them is that they put so much power into their music without ever resorting to screams.
"I love the peter pan references " Son you'll walk with no whisper, no sound. Only the feet of the heavy hearted are held to the ground. You've no need to draw the curtains son, throw them wide. Cross the borders between the never and the night. Find the twinkle in your smile, chase it on 'til morning", Past the second star to the right. its like peter telling the kids not to be afraid to come with them and that the adults cant fly because they have heavy hearts. Just a thought
I would rather be a band like HLH than be one of those mainstream bands with a lot of followers but very few hardcore fans. Lets here it for one of most talented bands out of Australia
Always been a major fan of this song because I loved the melodic vocals combined with the heavy instrumentals and finally looked up the real lyrics today and it crushed me in a good way. Really hope I get to see them in concert one day. Guess I picked everything up subconsciously before I knew how much it actually resonated with me.
Banger I have listen to hands like houses a lot when I was a teenager in high school I was a freshman at that time I was about 16 years old when this song came out it was great high school memories of mine this song and band rocks loved them I did discover hands like house when I was sixteen years of age wonderful memories of my teen years love u all 🔥🤟🤘
It makes them unique. Not every band needs screaming. Especially one with such amazing instruments and cleans that would not fit in with screaming. This album has very upbeat lyrics and an upbeat tone, screaming would simply not fit in.
I never heard of these guys before. Then they came through my town and ate at the restaurant I work at, driving a van and towing a trailer obviously on tour. I asked if they were a band and they told me who they were. And they are freaking awesome! Crazy experience......
When this band came out it certainly had something fresh to offer unique and dream like lyrics, an awesome name, a great and rare vocalist, and one thing that is amazing is the heavy instruments and clean vocals all the time that made this very Good :) just listing some of the reasons I love this band!
This album was so ahead of it's time in the genre when it came out. Absolutely blew me away
It's timeless
i freaked tf out when i found this band back in the day, and fell in love even more after their Unimagine album that showed even deeper lyrics. fucking love this band
@@robertmills3462 I kind of lost interest after Unimagine but I really liked their song Space that they released last year

1:33-2:06
One of the best verses in music history. Its one of those pieces you never get tired of and wish it was longer
been listening to HLH since this album came out, that verse still gives me chills every time i listen. so good. genuine masterpiece of a song
This was and always will be me and my best friend's favorite song. He passed away last Friday and I've been listening to this ever since. I'll never forget you Jeffrey.
He is in a better place, you'll see him soon enough. In the meantime you can relive your memories through this song!
Be strong, friend! You have a beautiful song to remind you of your friendship. Someday you'll meet again. But not now
RIP Jeff :'(
Thanks for the support guys, it means a lot c:
Rip. I hope you find peace in this song like I do. We all are here for u ^_^
there is not a single flaw with this band, for their genre and originality of music production i give them an A+ thank you for providing my ears with never ending nectar from the sweetest plant known to mankind.

4 years ago: Amazing.
2016: Still amazing.
Mm hmm
Dissonants really wasn't that great ;-;
Ninjakiwiify Miss this sound. Especially those mystical synths and trenton's Soulful voice and those lyrics too :(
It's hard to accept, but everyone changes their music style. We'll see what HLH will do in the 2017.
I agree, but change is hard even if it is necessary. I listen to their new album DIssonants and it will never compare to this Ground Dweller album, but they felt it was needed.
1:30-2:05
I could listen to a melody like that for hours on end. It's sooo good
My favorite album of theirs!
This is peak riserecord era.. good old days.
Mannnn this song gives me so much nostalgia, 7 years ago doesn't even seem that long ago 😔 Time flies so fast
I remember going on a RUclips rabbit hole in 2012 and hearing this. Immediately I was hooked. Been my favorite band ever since that day.
Its actually been 6 years. Man I love Hands like Houses
Still holds up to this day. Nostalgia city USA for me as well.
This is probably one of the most enjoyable songs to play on the drums. The energy and flow is just perfect!
Pure understatement, they destroyed it when we played Sunday. After we got done performing we saw them later in the day. They're sooo solid live!
2019 and this song still giving me da chills with the intro
Listen to this with ready player one when the Iron giant/Gundum fight mega Godzilla.

Absolutely brilliant. This song is so poetic and one of their greatest.
this is still one their greatest songs, it's so visionary regarding the scene they were inserted into! HLH is a hell of a band
Saw these guys live, they are INSANE! The most humble, genuine guys! I met the band and they are great guys, I can't wait for them to come back to Texas!
Absolute killer of an album!
I don't believe that it took this long for me to find this awesome band!
After 9 years, this song still have the special place on my heart
still one of my favorites to hear live
Rise definitely got a hold of one hell of a band. I haven't gone a day without coming to this video.
Crazy debut album, the best HLH release 💯🔥
Thank god this band covered one of my favorite songs on the punk goes 90's volume 2 CD, because if they hadn't I wouldn't be listening to their perfection basically non-stop right now. I love them.

I know it is 2016 but is it too late to pre-order this album
幾年を重ねても色褪せない名曲。
愛してるぜ。
Such a fresh new sound for Rise. These guys rule, hope to see them soon!
3:31 when two characters are talking at the same time in a subbed anime

I HAVE VERY INTENSE FEELINGS ABOUT HANDS LIKE HOUSES
We are opening up for these guys in AZ on the 27th...so stoked!

👀
Man this brings back memories. I love this band :)
Beat me to it haha. I was so relieved when they said that, one of the things I like about them is that they put so much power into their music without ever resorting to screams.
It's been years since I've heard this last. I think I love it more now than I did then
I love their lyrics. I wish more bands were like this, lyrically.
almost 2017 and this is not great... this is more than amazing lml.
2019 and I'm still listening to this.
2:50 - 3:07 is just absolutely beautiful
this will never not be one of my favorites. this song is an all time fav
Love this song. I think it was the first Hands Like Houses song I heard. Decided to come back on this vid 'cause my merch came the other day. :'D
"I love the peter pan references " Son you'll walk with no whisper, no sound.

OMG just saw them last night at the glass house in Pomona CA with SWS, and PTV Tour!! loved Them!!!!!!!!!
Always been a major fan of this song because I loved the melodic vocals combined with the heavy instrumentals and finally looked up the real lyrics today and it crushed me in a good way. How the hell did i listened this song so late, this is freackin' awsome!
Seriously. It made me so happy when I saw that they are going on tour together. Its going to be one of the best nights of my life. (:
I met them October 17th....still remember it like yesterday! They are so chill!
Yet another amazing band to call our own. Australia
I really feel like this could be used for a Peter Pan movie lol
Read this about 15 seconds in and exited the song
+Andrew Laurents I mean, they literally use the "Second Star on the Right" from Peter pan.
An epic Peter Pan movie.
1:18 this reminds me when his shadow wasn’t attached to him
They sound like panic at the disco! And I love it!
They do actually! Wow.
Same here, but for November 2nd! Hope your show's epic! I'm so eager to take the 2 hour trip over to MA with my friend.
I am so happy that the Collide With the Sky concert is giving these guys some attention.
They totally deserve it, they're amazing.
I love Hands Like Houses

This song came out when I was 14 and now I'm going off to college in a week..
+RAWWRIMAPIRATE i graduated highschool at 17. Late birthdays.
8 years later and this song is still perfect.
I never heard of these guys before. Then they came through my town and ate at the restaurant I work at, driving a van and towing a trailer obviously on tour. I asked if they were a band and they told me who they were. And they are freaking awesome! Crazy experience......
The intro reminds a lot of Isles and Glaciers lmao
2018 anyone just revisiting this classic
I just discovered this, amazing
God, they're so good with lyrics
Every time I listen to this I just never want it to end... *hits replay for hundredth time*
Saw these last night touring with PTV and fell in love. Great band! Can't believe I haven't heard of them yet!
I don't know the reason Why but this kind of songs reminds me the another world than doesn't exist... something like Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts 😌
William Longoni if references Peter pan a couple times. I think k of Neverland
Not one song by Hands like Houses I don't like there all frickin good
Misheard lyrics: little boys, wet dreams, and paper planes.
+Christian Mckenzie lmao
+Christian Mckenzie Yep
+Christian Mckenzie There's always one.
Christian Jordan that made me laugh a little to hard
ground dweller still a banger
Yep. Song's still amazing.
This was so good. Kinda miss this type of sound I cannot find it anywhere. So damn catchy and good. Their new album is meh
Anyone for Issues? They are from the same record label, and Stingray Affliction is my favorite song.
Great song im guessing its about peter pan and how he never grows old
I can't wait to see these guys along with Sleeping With Sirens, The Getaway Plan, and The Summer Set in October! They're amazing!
Much love 💚
Only birds were meant to fly? What about insects? Dumb lyric.
I don't believe they were looking for your approval on lyrics.
I don't believe that you grasp the nature of a comment line.
TheCorrectViews yes comment line not approval line.
That was my comment. My God, you are an idiot.
eh its more of an approval rating than a comment :p
By Far ... My Fav band ... way better than that douch bag Kellin Quinn Lmfao!!!!
Yeah dude there good... But thats just pushing the limit Kellin is a beast!
Reegan Burnell You tell him! XD

What a great sound, these guys have so much talent, especially for being new on the scene. Well done and great choice signing, Rise!
Not exactly, but there are references... These guys are absolutely INCREDIBLE!
this is probably the best song i have ever heard in my life. thanks for uploading it dude or dudet
Perfect song i love it so much! "Before you fly you'll fall, before you walk you'll crawl" best part with no doubt!
When this band came out it certainly had something fresh to offer unique and dream like lyrics, an awesome name, a great and rare vocalist, and one thing that is amazing is the heavy instruments and clean vocals all the time that made this very Good :) just listing some of the reasons I love this band!
absolutely
This is amazing.
I agree, Hands like Houses is too great to go unnoticed.
I enjoyed the song and lyrics. Noni said I should give you a listen and that was fantastic! Thank you very much.
I'm sorry to hear that! Keep pulling strong and keep your head up. Don't let the pain bring you down, keep pushing forward.
These lyrics were so beyond fucking magical.
The lyrics stole my heart.
Such an inspiration.
