This just popped into my recommendations. I havnt heard this song in like 10 years but man, the emotions and memories just flooded in; felt like I was back in college in 2013 for a minute
i remember when this song first came out. it was like the next step in exploration within the genre and it worked out. Also considering the fact they're from Aus just tops it off.
I have listened to this song easily over a hundred times since it first came out and I'm also very familiar with Jonny's voice having been a fan of him for 6 years but to this day I still can not tell which part he sings in during this song. It drives me fucking insane
Jake Holt I love Tyler a lot too and he's the only one I've actually heard live and I've met him for myself so I know he is for sure the better person but idk...Jonny's voice will always be a tad bit better in my opinion. Although it's about a tie for me if I'm honest. They both just sing so good.
I came here cause I heard this song in a misheard lyrics video and the little sampled it played of this song sounded interesting so I thought I'd check it out and woooow this song sounds like magic.
Saw life through this song, what I want to be to who I will. Life wasn't pretty. I cried. Changes will be made. This song encourages me to make those changes.
I know what a vibraphone is, I just wasn't sure if they were just using electrical sounds to make it or if they were actually using an instrument lol. Thanks though
You gotta give the other band members credit not only the singers, like as a fellow drummer I gotta say that Matt Perkitney did such a good job on this one
Hands like Houses - Lion Skin ( Ft. Tyler & Jonny Craig) I wonder, can you daydream at night? Lying awake, I've had too much time. I'm watching picture shows in the shadows Dance for the crowd tonight. Imagination is such a vivid place to hide, While stars watch over you. Through silent homes The lights are out but I walk these halls, (Jonny : I walk these halls...) The way I've walked before, Sleeping with saints and apparitions between the walls. The lights are out but I walk these halls (Tyler : 'nd I walk these halls...) I promise not to wake you, so I'll walk light, just so you can hear, The rats in the roof and termites in the ceiling. We'll hear everything except what we need to hear. Sleeplessness is for the restless, and I'm just fine, Left to wander, aimless in unconsciousness (Tyler echos with falsetto) There's spiders crawling from the corners of my eyes. let them weave their little webs to snatch the sunlight from the lens. I'm staring at the ceiling 'cause I'm fed up with the sight. Weigh my eyelids back to sleep, sealed by silken silver threads, While stars watch over you. Through silent homes The lights are out but I walk these halls, (Jonny : I walk these halls...) The way I've walked before, Sleeping with saints and apparitions between the walls. The lights are out but I walk these halls (Tyler : 'nd I walk these halls...) Cast the sheep out of your mind Count the wolves and we'll sleep tonight. Tyler : I stumble in and I stumble out of unfamiliar rooms in foreign houses, (Jonny : Foreign houses...) But I'm at home, Trent : A ghost has left behind his sheets, unrequited, (Trent and/or Tyler : Until I wake up somewhere-) Jonny : Until I wake up somewhere I know where I've never been. Band : 'N I'll stay 'till sleep takes over you... (Trent : I'll stay 'till sleep takes over you...) 'N I'll walk while stars watch over you... (Trent : I'll walk while stars watch over you...) Band : Through silent homes The lights are out but I walk these halls, The way I've walked before, Now with Trent : Sleeping, with saints and apparitions between the walls. The lights are out but I walk these halls (Jonny : I walk these halls...) The way I've walked before, Sleeping with saints and apparitions between the walls. The lights are out but I walk these halls. (Tyler : 'nd I walk these halls...) Cast the sheep out of your mind, Count the wolves and we'll sleep tonight. (tonight... tonight... tonight... tonight... tonight... tonight....)
I could'nt quite my tongue on what this song reminds me of, and you hit it right on the head. Jamie's Elsewhere - One foot in the grave. One of my favorites too
I really felt the vocalist could have stood on his own without Jonny or Tyler. They definitely add a spot of soul to the song, but I could have done without them. The song has some great hooks and the lyrics are fantastic. Considering this was one of their first released songs, it's a phenomenal effort.
I've always known about this band but never really listened to them. Today I finally listened to this song and can't stop listening. Can't wait to see them on warped tour!
Ahh.. revisiting this gem of a song after being disappointed by their new stuff. No hate though, all power to them for creating whatever they want to create. All I'm saying is that I miss the poetic lyrics and the dream-like sound of their first two albums. Not a fan of the new albums.
Don't understand why This Ain't No Place For Animals was chosen over this for Ground Dwellers lead single. This song is SO much better. I know this phase is kind of dying but when this blend of Alt Rock and Post-Hardcore is done well, it sounds fantastic. Reminds me so much of Saosin
More people prefer that song over this one I guess. I kind of do too but my favorite song out of this whole album is either Watchmaker or Spineless Crow. Personal preference I guess.
Still got their demo which was released before they signed Rise Records here on my computer. They did sound way better before they got to that label. Nonetheless, those guys are super talented, and I'm blessed that I saw them live like 8 or 9 years ago.
It's pretty much because Jonny and Tyler do their part at the same exact time. Jonny does the backing to Tyler's part and does the very last line. It starts at "I stumble in and I stumble out" And at the end Jonny does "Until I wake up somewhere I know I've never been."
I just talked to one of the guys of this band (not even 10 minutes ago) on a live internet radio show! I asked him a couple of questions and got them all answered!
I've heard of them when they just started the EP, and all I did was tell my friend about how great this band is. And now watching them getting better just makes me so proud as watching them making their dreams into reality. I can't wait to buy the ablum and see them in Warped Tour.
Damn I randomly got reccommended this band on Instagram today. I completely forgot about them tbh suddenly all their lyrics came rushing through my head. I remember jamming out to them back in highschool and playing call of duty black ops 2 with my other hardcore friends. Perfect times.
This just popped into my recommendations. I havnt heard this song in like 10 years but man, the emotions and memories just flooded in; felt like I was back in college in 2013 for a minute
11 years on, still one of my favourite metal songs ever
Hands like Houses has to be one of the most underrated band even by Australia's standards of under achieving
I’ve been saying this for YEARS
Still dreaming of a better mix on this song (and album), it's a masterpiece and deserves it.
8 years later this song still gives me the goosebumps 😂😭
This will always be the best song Hands Like Houses will ever make. I love all their stuff since, but nothing compares to this song.
+Gino Simplicio totally agree
Over 3 years since this comment, still true.
@@forcedentry2010 2024 and yeah one of the best metal songs out there
Tyler and Craig is the best combination ever. 💕
Having Jonny Craig's voice in any song automatically makes it 10x better.
Big facts!
It took me 10 years to realize that johnny only sings like 2 lines just accenting tyler 😂 its mostly tyler
Yo but they just dismissed their singer. Could you imagine Jonny Craig full time as their vocalist?
8 years, still getting goose bumps.
everytime I listen back to HLH I must listen this banger, totally their best song, that freakin part with Tyler Carter and Jonny Craig is unbeatable.
This will forever be my favorite Hands Like Houses song. Forever. And ever.
Right there with you sister
All of my favorite singers in one gorgeous song holy shit
I didn't like it tho. No baby love from Tyler.
Jonny used to be my hero, fuck I wish it were 2013 again.
i remember when this song first came out. it was like the next step in exploration within the genre and it worked out. Also considering the fact they're from Aus just tops it off.
Timeless piece this right here.
10 years later and this is still an absolute banger!
Omg a combination of Tyler Carter, Johnny Craig, and Hands Like Houses... I can die happy knowing the greatest musical combination has been created.
10 years later and still a hell of a song
I have listened to this song easily over a hundred times since it first came out and I'm also very familiar with Jonny's voice having been a fan of him for 6 years but to this day I still can not tell which part he sings in during this song. It drives me fucking insane
Clifford Affliction I like johnny craig but I still think tyler carter is better:P
Jake Holt I love Tyler a lot too and he's the only one I've actually heard live and I've met him for myself so I know he is for sure the better person but idk...Jonny's voice will always be a tad bit better in my opinion. Although it's about a tie for me if I'm honest. They both just sing so good.
yeah I think it was just that I listened to tyler carter before johnny craig though :o
Jake Holt opposite for me...I listened to Jonny first
still they are both really good I love johnny craig in DGD but sadly he left:(
I came here cause I heard this song in a misheard lyrics video and the little sampled it played of this song sounded interesting so I thought I'd check it out and woooow this song sounds like magic.
This song is so badass. I can't believe I haven't heard it until tonight
They all have so much passion for what they are doing. Much respect
Saw life through this song, what I want to be to who I will. Life wasn't pretty. I cried. Changes will be made. This song encourages me to make those changes.
dude... you stole my words
Sorry about that?
God bless you! best of luck to you my friend:)
Can't get over the instrument that plays right before everything kicks in. So amazing. I nail the headbang every time c;
That would be a vibraphone my friend. It's a percussion keyboard instrument.
I know what a vibraphone is, I just wasn't sure if they were just using electrical sounds to make it or if they were actually using an instrument lol. Thanks though
It was most likely the keyboard player playing a synthesized Vibraphone.
Hands Like Houses and Jonny Craig in the same title.. immediately caught my attention. Flawless.
Arguably 3 of the best vocalist on one song oh my word.. just make a whole album together? Lol
oh trent and tyler and jonny you make a perfect trio
That bridge at 2:30 always makes me sudder, such an awesome tune.
Introduced me to a new type of music. Helped me through a really dark time. I'll forever owe this band a lot
You gotta give the other band members credit not only the singers, like as a fellow drummer I gotta say that Matt Perkitney did such a good job on this one
heard this song the other day on the radio and came here straight away.....amazing lyrics
Tyler Carter, Johnny Craig, and Patrick Stump need to start an accopella group
And Rory Rodriguez. Trust me, he's an amazing vocalist.
Probably my favorite song from them hands down. I need more songs like this!
Plus having Tyler and Jonny just sends this over the edge of greatness.
Lyrics always were the best thing ever! I love these guys in 2019! Still!
God damn, fucking trio of the best singers in history.

thanks for this breakdown. i never could quite tell where everyone was, just knew that was jonny's "BEEEEEEEEEEEENNNN"
Wow. All of their voices are just perfect.
I haven't listened too HLH in forever and this is nostalgic 😭
This song never gets old. None of their songs get old
Love them! saw them in Eindhoven before Sleeping With Sirens, I instantly fell in love and bought their album
I just saw this band at the Collide With The Sky show, they were definitely my favorite that night. Great band.
genuinely one of my fav songs ever so fucking good still
So happy this band is from Canberra, I have seen them probably 4 or 5 times? And now seeing them in a week. Love it!
this fucking song is miracles incarnate
I could'nt quite my tongue on what this song reminds me of, and you hit it right on the head. Jamie's Elsewhere - One foot in the grave. One of my favorites too
When the whole band sings...
this is the song that we all miss listening. perfect and thumbs up !!
this song> everything else ever
ive got goosebumps from this. this song is sick. time to work my magic and get everyone i know to listen to this over and over agian
2020 e ainda continua sendo bom demais
Sim
Played this sooo many times.
Rises have so many high range vocalist
This song seriously gives me the chills every time i listen to it!
It makes me sad that nothing they do can compare to Ground Dweller, that album was legitmately perfect.
Im over here thinking the same thing. It was perfection.
This and Unimagine I'd say.
You guys should try out the band 'Valiant Hearts' if you're looking for similar stuff
@@d1st0rt037 absolutely. Valiant hearts is amazing!!!
@@d1st0rt037 "Time, the Valuator" is also similar and really talented as well.
Finally, a band with a great singer AND great lyrics. Hard to find that combination.
Still listening in 2023
It's like they're their own genre is seems like! Nobody else sounds like them and its perfect!
I really felt the vocalist could have stood on his own without Jonny or Tyler. They definitely add a spot of soul to the song, but I could have done without them. The song has some great hooks and the lyrics are fantastic. Considering this was one of their first released songs, it's a phenomenal effort.
This song is so beautiful it brings tears to my eyes.
It does sound like sws first album, anyway they are both great and have their own style. Great band
tyler and jonny were my favourite singers :)
damn its so hard to tell who's who haha
I've always known about this band but never really listened to them. Today I finally listened to this song and can't stop listening. Can't wait to see them on warped tour!

My love for this song and band will never cease.
Isles and glaciers 2.0
That's what I'm saying xD
all you need if vic tho
OfMice&Kiwi Or we could not bring him in. Yeah that would be better
At least don't forget Craig Owens lol
all there songs being so damb good i can't pick a favorite
2:30 - 2:56
jonny doing the last part is the best thing ever
Marry me
+Lars van Koningsveld over here is a lil thirsty 😜
Matt Wittlinger
hahaha, sadly i have a gf now, sorry Alexandria!
Lars van Koningsveld jammer dat je mijn bf niet wilt zijn :(
Never listened to this band, and I saw them on the Collide With The Sky Tour and fell in love! Sooo talented

Brandon Michael Songs with features usually dont get put as a single
+OhManItzMatt o rly? King For A Day by PTV? Congratulations by SWS? Alone by SWS? A Love Like War by ATL? nah dude
missed the key word didnt you
+OhManItzMatt the key words in that sentence were features, single, song and dont and I understood all of those
This is my first time listening to this band, and I'm awestruck at how AMAZING these vocals are!
what. ... in the love of music was this .... like I'm a big fan of all this guys .... but ... who mixed, who mastered who did this ....
angie cameron mizell
Woe, Is Me [&] well ... know I know who to blame lol
now I know *
watchmaker is by far the best song ive ever listend to ten hours straight
reminds me of Of Machines (in a good way :P)
Amazing. Never gets old.
1:35 - 2:04 superhero drums
Kyle Lesh good thing to notice that (y)
Oh the memories of listening to this album as my soul cried, to finally be free and hear this is the greatest
where the fuck was Tyler
Still wondering that myself
I was thinking the same damn thing
Wondered that for a while but Lukes right
zLukeCA At "A ghost" Jonny takes lead.
zLukeCA Tyler has never sounded that good on any song and Ive heard every Woe, Is Me and Issues song so Im inclined not to believe you.
OH MY GOD. I'VE FOUND MY NEW FAVORITE BAND. PRAISE THE LORD FOR BESTOWING THIS AMAZING MUSIC UPON MY EARS.
thought this was an Isles & Glaciers song
I Forgot how GOOD this Band Isss ......& Especially This SONG . I mean c'mon Tyler Carter + Johnny Craig
They gave Tyler and Johnny a really crappy part, I can't even hear them. They should at least let them sing a verse by themselves
Nope they are Australian
Wow sooo glad I just found this band. This guy's voice is amazing alone and adding the features is just epic
This would be my favorite song by them if it wasn't so poorly mixed.
ifkr
Still got their demo which was released before they signed Rise Records here on my computer. They did sound way better before they got to that label. Nonetheless, those guys are super talented, and I'm blessed that I saw them live like 8 or 9 years ago.
7 years later and it still goes hard.
All three singers sound the same on this song
In a great way
+Eli Cortes I can tell the difference. But I listen to them all a ton.
It's pretty much because Jonny and Tyler do their part at the same exact time. Jonny does the backing to Tyler's part and does the very last line.
It starts at "I stumble in and I stumble out"
And at the end Jonny does "Until I wake up somewhere I know I've never been."
UNHEALTHY BOY COLLECTIVE in an orgasmic way :) their soulful voices are unmatched. Criminally underrated vocalists
first Hands Like Houses I've heard, and I'm so deep in love omg
I don't hear Tyler at all...
He comes in at 2:30
Tylers voice is so noticeable though.
TnT326SH I thought that was johny craig. The tone sounds way too high for tyler
the last verse is tyler and trenton
Omg! Same here, I'm in love with that line. But more importantly this song
I count the wolves not sheep. I'm the lion
Ethan Smith Im the kangaroo
+McPixel Were all brothers and sisters. They tend not to get along. your still my brother
i never ever get tired of listening to this.. so amazing
brendon urie should be here
Fuck no
Only found these guys today. 1 of my best finds this year!
"Imagination is such a vivid place to hide." One of my favorite lines to this amazing song.
Trent, Tyler, & Jonny are a perfect trio.
I just talked to one of the guys of this band (not even 10 minutes ago) on a live internet radio show! I asked him a couple of questions and got them all answered!

Still one of the best written and put together songs in the genre.
Those vocals... holy fuckin shit... I don't think I'm worthy of listening to such a good song.
this band has so much promise, I can't believe this is only their first album, I cannot wait for more.
