I'm a really big Amorphis Fan! This is one of my Alltime Fav Bands and this are my Top 5 Albums!! 1 Tales from the tousand lakes 2 The Karelian Isthmus 3 Elegy 4 Silent Waters 5 Under the red Cloud
As a new fan of amorphis I gotta say I’m glad you described the feel of each album it gives me an idea of which one I want to pick up next since they have so many
I haven’t heard the last 3 yet but I’ll definitely be checking those out soon! Really solid discography, I don’t think any of the albums I’ve heard are bad, though there are a few that aren’t quite as interesting (your bottom 3). Those early EPs are awesome too! Here’s my top 5: 1. Tales from the Thousand Lakes 2. Elegy 3. The Karelian Isthmus 4. Skyforger 5. Eclipse Thanks for the great video as always! 🤘🤘
Been waiting for this! Amorphis is one of my all-time favorites! I actuall agree with you a lot (The softer Pasi albums lowest, Circle, Beginning of Times And Queen of Time weakest of the Tomi Joutsen albums, Silent Waters getting the recognition it deserves). Just one note: Tuonela is not as loved as you claim, it's generally ranked pretty low. My top 5: 1. Silent Waters 2. Under The Red Cloud 3. Tales From The Thousand Lakes 4. Skyforger 5. Elegy
I think that either Elegy or Queen of Time is the best. Somehow I appreciate Elegy really high as an piece of art and innovation though Queen of Time is album that I have ever listened the most (probably 100+ times from beginning to end). It sounds odd that you value Halo higher. However I think that it is just praise to the skills of Amorphis that people have so different opinions of which album is best. Let's face it - they are all great.
1: Queen Of Time (2018) 2: Under The Red Cloud (2015) 3: Elegy (1996) 4: Silent Waters (2007) 5: Eclipse (2006) 6: Skyforger (2009) 7: Tales From The Thousand Lakes (1994) 8: Halo (2022) 9: Circle (2013) 10: The Beginning Of Times (2011) 11: Am Universum (2001) 12: Karelian Isthmus (1992) 13: Tuonela (1999) 14: Far From The Sun (2003)
Great ranking, here's mine 1. Queen Of Time 2. Under The Red Cloud 3. Halo 4. Skyforger 5. The Beginning Of Times 6. Silent Waters 7. Eclipse 8. Tales From A Thousand Lakes 9. Circle 10. Elegy 11. The Karelian Isthmus 12. Tuonela 13. Far From The Sun 14. AM Universum
Skyforger was my intro to them and was addicted to that album for. Long time. But other than that, my 2 favorites are very different versions of amorphis but Queen of Time & Tales From The Thousand Lakes
With "Skyforger" and "Silent Waters" on top your List is more than okay. I also put the same three on the bottom, followed by "Karelian Isthmus" (never really warmed up to it idk why). Places 3,4 and 5 would got to "Eclipse", "Queen..." and "Red Cloud", the rest in unspecific (i.e. what mood I'm currently in) order with "Tales..." "Halo" and "Elegy" mostly in the upper half. Also very much agree on the underrated comment on "Eclipse", absolute Gem that never seems to get the recognition it deserves.
I also between Immolation and Amorphis for album of the year, with Soliloquium running a little behind. And boy, we still in april, that year is already a banger!!!

Far From the Sun
Probably my second favorite band of them all, and I have quite the opposite view. I loved Pasi Koskinen icy vocals. 1. Tuonela. 2. Elegy. 3 Tales from a Thousand Lakes. 4. Am Universum. Then come all the Joutsen albums.
How can you put Am Universum and Tuonela so far? and Elegy not even in the top 5 ?
woaaaah
Much prefer tomis vocals tho elegy is still great
@@Questformetal huh? the music is much more important than the vocal. Elegy is better than all albums with Tomi
@@Therionsylar the musics better with tomi too, do you not understand preferences ?
But don't really care for the singles/videos off any of those except alone, divinity and evil inside. Far as an entire album being great by them, I would say skyforger.
