If this uses the same hybrid system as the Civic/Accord then at speeds under about 45 it is a serial hybrid where all the gas engine does is power a generator to drive the electric motor. All "shifting" from 0-45 is fake. Then above 45 or so there is a direct connect from the gas engine to the drive wheels with no gears at all. So I'll be very curios what the heck this S+ is.
Love the host's 1987 Prelude that he picked up in 1998. Sadly, Honda would discontinue the Prelude in 2001. I knew a couple guys with brand-new Preludes back in the late 1990s. Honda cut the cord at its height--which it also did to the Integra, CRX, NSX and the Legend. Not quite sure why Honda does that.
It looks like a Prius, and a Cayman got together. This is their offspring lol But you're right, Jeff, 4WS was something I liked in the Prelude of yesteryear.
Why bother, Honda? Seriously, back in the 90's we already had the Integra for 2 door 4 seater coupe, no need for another variant with the Prelude. Just bring the Integra back and use some creative flair please.❤
I'm excited! I am going to be saving up for this car. The only thing I really need is a good audio system. I know honda has been using that new bose system but I dont know if thats enough 😅
Even if Honda doesn’t offer a manual at launch, enough demand could push Honda to equip the Prelude with a manual later down the line. Honda has offered past hybrids with manuals.
I owed a 2.2 vti honda prelude, manual, back in 2012, both type R civic and integra had no chance.... Especially on roundabouts 🤣🤣🤣. All thanks to that good good 4ws... hardened suspension and strunt braces...
More torque, some CTR parts in the suspension, and better mpg? Unfortunately, as much as I would consider the Prelude given my current lifestyle (10th Gen Si owner) there's still not a lot known about that car to really give an idea on what the full hook is. Heck, for all we know, it'll handle amazingly and have a good 0-60 time, but gotta wait and see.
I hope they drop the hammer head design. Ferrari did it..that’s fine but the trend is weird. If they keep it simple like the civic or accord headlights it’s a win. Other than that everything looks good
