This and the MC-18 that released last year take inspiration from the US Bunny Boot which is used for extremely cold weather. The same writing is found on those boots and you would keep the gusset closed to insulate the boots. The bunny boots also featured the size on the back pannel of the shoe which is why it's present here as well.

3:05 that phrase 'keep double laced...' is also written on the lace holes in converse moutain club -18 (mc-18). I think converse reused those leftover material from making those (mc-18). Even their silhouettes are similar to each other. Converse wrote the double laced thingy for mc-18, because the concept of the shoes was a hiking gear.

I don't know about you but i'd been looking forward to these since i saw sneak peaks in september, them being pretty particular with their inspiration from the bunny boots, they were perfect for the retro/futuristic alien look i was looking for. That being said they ended up retailing for 180$ and I'm guessing they got shouted out in a couple hype sneaker pages because they sold out withing hours... For me they were the perfect shoes apart from the kinda split sole/platform and since they were so expensive I was hoping to get them maybe on sale, but alas they sold out super quick. I'm glad they're getting love from all sorts of places but I've also seen many people who just bought them to resell and that's a bit sad. Nevertheless hope you can rock and enjoy em a whole bunch! Thanks for making dope content.
They are copies of army "Bunny Boots" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bunny_boots which Raf Simons has used in his shows multiple times in the past few years and made a replica of with Adidas for his Sterling Ruby collaboration. It's a nice take on the shoe though.
