His beautiful sound was known in the 60's as "blue-eyed soul". His voice draws out emotions now, almost 60 years later, as much as it did then. Your reaction is priceless!!!
This was before Electronics could adjust your voice to sound how they need you to. This was REAL RAW Talent, I remember when this version came out my sisters would just keep repeat playing it for hours. Back when men would sing with emotion to women not speak a phrase at them. But it never gets old, Thanks for the memory's.
That was a beautifully honest and heartfelt reaction. Gracie, I am 100% certain you are going to love hearing the two Righteous Brothers sing together. You've Lost That Loving Feeling is the perfect follow up song to Unchained Melody. Best of luck with your channel, RNB
This was the greatest performance of all time.He sang this effortless, smooth and sheer perfection. Many Artists before and after him have done this song but no one will ever do this song like Bobby. He owns this song no one else. This was 1965 I was in school and yet when I hear him sing this song today I still get goosebumps it's timeless. He had a voice from the heavens above purely amazing.
I found you on "such a night" and loved your reaction so much I followed you here! You've chosen one the best here - in fact the very best. Beautiful man, beautifulvoice and wonderful human being. ❤
Bobby Hatfield pulled you in like a moth to the light !! He has a way of grabbing you by your heart & soul and you love being in that special place. He is definitely one of a kind and his talent is amazing. He has many more solos you might love--all on You Tube. You get to see and feel the many varied aspects of his magical talent. Loved your reaction--like most women, including me. Hope you enjoy his many songs. Cathy
There are two brothers ( not by blood) you just watched Bobby Hatfield sing a solo, there is Bill Medley. Watch live 1964 of You've Lost That Loving Feeling and (Your My) Soul and Inspiration . Both sing these together.
Beautiful raw talent performed in front of an audience. Pure vocal cords!!! He was awesome!!! I still get goosebumps each time I hear it just like I did in 1965.
Young Lady you are not the first woman that fell in love with this man and song. There are actually two of them and they are not actually brothers. But their voices match and blend together perfectly. Listen to You Lost That Loving Feeling . Both brothers are together in that song.
HELLO GRACIE, CAN YOU BELIEVE A PERFORMANCE LIKE THIS FROM BOBBY HATFIELD BACK IN 1965 - SO AMAZINGLY B E A U T I F U L. SO CLASSY, SMOOTH AND POWERFULLY ROMANTIC
It was down south and it was an African American audience (Marines I think who were due to join the Vietnam war) who were not really interested or happy with 2 white guys who were going to sing for them UNTIL they did sing and one of the African Americans called out "that's righteous brothers" and that is how they got their name. Don't worry all of us who have heard this version over the years have shed a few tears every time it is played and I mean both male and female. This version was used in Ghost if it sounds a little familiar in the pottery scene. Just pure undiluted talent, no technology to aid him just his beautiful voice, a microphone and a small T.V. Show Band. 🇦🇺🇦🇺😷😷
Gracie - is this not amazing?? -- Bobby Hatfield is doing this "solo" without his "brother" (they were not actual bros -- but there is a story behind that -- when they sang together at one venue, some of the local guys said something like "Those Brothers are Righteous!" -- or some such) -- never mind that.. what I love about this performance by Bobby is how effortlessly he makes those notes (and I just watched the end of your reaction and saw how much you noted the SAME thing -- was it that EASY for him?) -- and also, I heard he was nervous on this particular night b/c his MOM was in the audience... I'm sure she was proud! Thanks for your great reaction!
This song takes on more meaning when understood in context...the song comes from a prison movie about a man doing time and singing to his love from prison...In 1954, Alex North was contracted to compose the score for the prison film (released in 1955).... North then asked Hy Zaret to write the lyrics, but Zaret initially declined, saying he was too busy painting his house. North was able to convince him to take the job, and together they wrote "Unchained Melody."...and the rest is history...maybe the most beautifully written romantic song of all time...and as I understand Zaret did eventually get his house painted
Thank you pretty lady for playing this very beautiful love song. I really do appreciate it. You gotta lot of class. Keep up the good work and may I say I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas. God bless you. Adios.
For what it's worth, the effect he had on you while listening to him sing... yiu had the same effect on me watching you react. The Righteous Brothers were Bobby Hatfield (who sang this song), the tenor and Bill Medley, the baritone. A great song to watch them both is "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling." It features mainly Bill Medley, but Bobby Hatfield provides some memorable moments, and their harmony parts are great. Sadly, you won't be able to meet Bobby Hatfield in this life... he passee away in 2003. Bill Medley is still alive and, as far as I know, well.
This was one of 2 solos Bobby Hatfield did for the Righteous Brothers, you should listen to Ebb Tide which was his signature song, there is no live stage video only an audio version but its a beautiful song and his singing is amazing in it.
New subscriber here. You really need to invest in headphones to truly enjoy the music. Even earbuds would be good to use. Looking forward to watching your music reactions. From San Diego, CA ✌️😎
This song was originally written for a 1955 movie titled "Unchained". It's sung from the perspective of a prisoner hoping his love is waiting for him. Incidentally, the movie is available in full on RUclips.
Beautiful reaction, would you do a Elvis reaction to One night with you from his 68 comeback special. I promise you will love it but be careful he will steal your heart
When he bites his lip at the end knowing he NAILED it! He had a partner Bill Medley and they couldn't come up with a name for their band until a fan yelled "Righteous Brothers" at them. True story.

Some people can use their voice as a musical instrument. That was a classic example of that.
