    If I knew the password to boot into the drive in question, I would just go into the BIOS and remove the drive's password. I thought this was supposed to solve the problem of having a hdd password you dont know. What is the point of this video? Who is this useful to?

    • @DellEnterpriseSupport
      @DellEnterpriseSupport  Год назад

      Hello xxDrain, this is in case you do not want to enter the BIOS for clearing the HDD password. In case you do not know the HDD password, you should contact the Dell Support at dell.to/3G7ZhaR

  • @endlessmijot

    I get a prompt for password to my D: drive on start up but the laptop did not come with info on the password for the drive when i bought it. I know I didnt happen to lose the password because i actually bought the exact same laptop brand new from best buy twice, neither with a paper for the password. Is there a way for dell support to find out the default password for my hard drive?

    How to show command prompt in Dell Latitude 3330? Because I tried Windows+X it doesn't work.

    • @DellEnterpriseSupport
      @DellEnterpriseSupport  8 месяцев назад

      Hello @H5MotivationFans, this depends on the operating system you use. On Windows 10 for example, you can press Windows Key and X and select Windows PowerShell or open the start menu and just type in Command Prompt. This can be different on other Windows Versions. You should be able to find out when searching for your specific operating system on the search engine of your choice.

    I had a xt2xfr. Broked in parts . Also ssd protected . How can i retrieve data from ssd? I know all the passwords. Now the ssd is linked to an Alienware by a USB 3 to microsata adapter

    • @DellEnterpriseSupport
      @DellEnterpriseSupport  2 года назад

      Hi Enciu Mihai, CCTK does not feature Data Recovery functions. For this you should search for a data recovery solution.
      You could build the SSD in an identical system and remove the password if it was secured using BitLocker. If the protection was set up using the TPM, you can not remove the password without using the original system.

    If it's so easy to remove this password, then my data are not protected at all. Surprising...

      Password is more inconvenient than a protection it would seem

    • @xxDrain
      @xxDrain Год назад +2

      This video only shows how to remove password on the drive AFTER you've already booted into it and input the password. This does not work if someone else has your HDD and doesn't know the password, as you can't do this to an external or secondary disk, only the one you've booted from.

  • @KoalaLumpUhr
    @KoalaLumpUhr 3 года назад

    Not working, unfortunately. Would be strange, anyways...
    When I follow the shown procedure, CCTK says "HDD-0 is password protected. Please promt password to change password". Great.

    • @DellEnterpriseSupport
      @DellEnterpriseSupport  3 года назад

      Hi KoalaLumpUhr, if your password contains the letter Z or Y please try to swap these to the opposite, means Y to Z and Z to Y. If this doesn't solve the issue, please contact our support staff via the Dell Community Forums at www.dell.com/community thank you
