  • Changing this engine took a fair amount of effort but I got it done! This took about 4 long nights after work to get done, I could probably do it quicker now that I have done one. After purchasing the engine, a new oil change, intake and exhaust manifold gaskets, power steering fluid and coolant, I now have less that $4000 into the entire car. Of course this means my labor was free, but it was fun, sort of.

Bought a 2009 328i xdrive, previous owner said it only needed a starter.. once i did the starter, I compression tested, car was $800 so i expected it to have low compression..as it did... thinking about just swapping an engine into it... suspension, exterior and interior are pretty amazing for a 188k mile car.. don't know how to go about it
