But I think how much of that should be shared with the recipient varies based on the medium. When the spoken talk was recorded it, of course, would be cumbersome to read a reference for every statement. A book, on the other hand, is a lot different. I've just begun work on a biography of William Bradford, and when that is finished, it will be thoroughly footnoted.
