Now we know where Jimmy Kimmel stole his long running (and tired) Matt Damon bit. Love these Letterman staff video recollection montages. Re-watching all these old clips reminds me of how much Kimmel stole from Letterman's show. There's only one Dave -- love ya'!
The Damon bit shown here appears to have come from a time late in the show's run - almost certainly after Kimmel started doing his bit.

The Matt Damon reference on Kimmel originates from an early episode of particularly forgettable guests, where as a swipe at his own show Jimmy thought it would be mildly amusing to insinuate they had an A-list actor who was waiting to come out, but got bumped. It could have been anyone, he just happened to say Matt Damon. Somehow it snowballed from there. I grew up watching Dave, and so did Jimmy. Both are hilarious. And Jimmy Kimmel's monologue is easily the best of the current batch of hosts.

Sarah is a natural storyteller! I remember Amanda's dog doing the hamburger trick and Madonna's last time on the show.
In the future, I would love to see the full segment of 'How many Sarah Palin's can fit into a LensCrafters.' Anything with the costumes were an absolute delight!
