I've been watching your videos for two years and thanks to you I was able to decide that a medical career is what I want, today I took my admission exam. I hope to be your colleague some day. Greetings from Mexico, Dr. James an inspiration for me 🧠
What’s annoyed me about this is this dude came in with the tiniest bit of foot pain and got physio straight away in the previous video. I’ve had a back problem for around 18 months and it took a few months for me to get physio. I’m unable to work because I have trouble walking, I can’t lift anything heavy, have trouble standing up and sitting down, have trouble sleeping, can’t hold my 1 year old daughter for very long and a plethora of other things I can’t do. Been doing physio for months with no improvement whatsoever and it was only the other day that physio turned round and said we’re transferring you to MSK (musculoskeletal triage unit) at hospital which should have happened months ago.
Another excellent video. Thank you for the thorough explanations. On another note, I found it quite funny to see the skeleton's right leg next to the patient's real left leg.
@@DrJamesGillI think that showing it on the skeleton first, followed by the demonstration on the skin is excellent teaching because it makes it very clear to understand from both an anatomical and clinical examination perspectives.
I have joint hypermobility syndrome with very rolly ankles and when I broke my ankle & leg (rolled it falling on a wet floor and broke something in my medial malleolus and fibula) the doctor basically said "this was going to happen at some point", which is a fun thing to be told! much more careful with my ankle support these days.
As someone who got hit by 2 hit n runs. I did enjoy this lay out as well as the explanation on the Patella. As my patella ligament are off had surgery to from the 2 injures but my patella feel like grinding when I place pressure running or going up stairs. A few pops randomly is that normal? Thank you a billion
Dr James im feeling my hand and my legs is slipping ? When ever time they when doctor orders blood test my blood is normal my kidneys, heart, vitamins, vitamins d low. Only? What tests could the doctor done differently in order diagnosis my health problems I have ? Thank you
All that anatomy! I wouldn't last a week in classes. It looked like the patient had a callus on his right foot, or was it my imagination? If there was, I expected you to comment on this as a potential problem. With a sore spot on the foot, one might alter their gait, and that can lead to other issues.
Not me waiting to see if you included the clip from shorts when the pt had pain with that right ankle DF🤣 Edit: He seemed to have quite a bit of dorsiflexion on that right ankle, was it within normal ROM or a bit excessive?
The GOAT of medical education
And med-u-tainment too. The presentation delightful, the science insightful.
Fr tho
I love the way you took his skin off to show us precisely what you say
😂
The skeleton moment is the best !
I’m amazed how you peeled his skin off and then reattached without any tearing. Bravo.
Don’t forget about the screws he also put into, the bones
😂

Good luck! Please come back and tell us how you get on 😊
Dr James Gill is a fashion icon at this point.
Im not sure the poor student signed up to dip his right leg in an acid bath for a demonstration...
He’s committed to the process

I think this "patient" needs to wear better fitting shoes.

3:45. Pain in the right ankle gets real serious, real quick.

@@AJediSurvivor You do know these are just demonstration and instructional videos.. right?
My wife and I were watching The Island with bear grylls and we saw you! Big respect for you mate, love what you do. And you did great on the show.
Another excellent video. Thank you for the thorough explanations.
On another note, I found it quite funny to see the skeleton's right leg next to the patient's real left leg.
I thought it gave a good way to split the learning
I’m not entirely sure about the repeated “skeleton then skin” what do you think?

I’ll try to add. It to the next videos then 😊
Your deep dives are brilliant ! And super helpful of course.
That was so calming I loved it so much! ❤😊
Another great deep dive. Excited for the next video!
Thanks!

😮😮😮Thank you Dr. Gill a billion
Plot twist. This wasn’t a ankle exam but the man in orange is the doctor and he’s using he foot to examine dr james gills hands.
To be fair, we use simulated patients to examine the students, in terms of their performance, so not a million miles from accurate 😊
NICE EXERCISE THANKS
You're welcome!
I got healed by heal walking!
Did you dub over yourself at 11:15 saying calcaneus ?
Yup. The audio was terrible there,
i cant believe you took his skin off
I'd love to see you and Dr. Saul Shaye do a collaboration! Please make it happen 😊
Doctor, how do you spell heel?
Has a typo got through?

Please make another cranial nerve examination video 🙏🏻

don't get fooled by dr Gill's sweet demeanor and lack of jacket... he's the real John Wick
I thought he's James (Mc)Gill aka Gene Takovic aka Saul...

That clip doesn’t quite fit here, so will be loaded in another video shortly
@@DrJamesGillit's one of the funniest clips on RUclips 😂 not that fun for the patient though haha
Where's David?
Are we sure James isn't holding this guy captive? He always looks miserable. Ha.
That’s medical school 😅😂
Are doctors able to tell if you have been masturebating like in a physical and if so how
Dr Gill said “pain in your right ankle? YOU DONT HAVE A RIGHT ANKLE ANYMORE”
Years of rugby, I don’t think I have a 5th Metatarsal site! 🤣🤣
what kind of job is that ?
Podiatry I think
