Using Crab/Lobster Pots From A Kayak - Catching Spider Crabs In My Pots - Jersey Channel Islands

Putting crab traps out for spider crabs whilst on my Kayak -
In this video I will show you how to catch spider crabs from a Kayak using crab traps.
This video is ideal for beginners that want to learn how to catch crabs with traps.
It had been about a year since I last dropped my Crab/Lobster pots over the side of my Kayak.
After my first trip out using them targeting Lobster I had made a few adjustments to hopefully help increase my catch rate.
In this video you’ll watch me bait up & set the Crab/Lobster traps whilst targeting Spider Crabs close inshore.
I leave the traps out over night and return to check them the following morning.

Good tip on baiting up. I bought one of these yesterday on eBay. My previous cheapo, from Amazon, didn't last a day. It was torn to shreds.

Good traps these matey.. glad I made the adjustments they seem to work a bit better now.
they should last a while too I’d say.

it’s just when I find it easier launching from that venue …..putting them out over high would be easier and I’d know how much extra line to let out as well but these were small tides so the water level dosnt really move too much
