Got lucky and my copy arrived a day early. This is my first ever FE game and wow I did not expect I'd love it so much, I've never been this invested in game characters before.

For me its sadly tomorrow ~ 11 AM but atleast its the limited edition + I took some vacation for this game. So hyped for it and I am probably gonna fill that 200 hour mark that the game has to offer.

The magic system is interesting, but having it so only certain characters can learn certain spells.... It’s the wrong way to do it. It should have been based off of a “schools of magic” system which you choose such as Faith, Black Magic, Fire, Lightning, Earth, Etc. Rather then just Faith / Reason.
A real life Heretek I disagree. It makes it to where each student has their own arsenal of spells that set them apart from the arrest. I prefer that element of surprise rather than just having everyone being able to learn everything.
hopefully after completing the game, you can travel back in time to the begining so you can choose another house rather than reseting the game file. (i mean, to continue with the story)
Might be a stupid comment but it's my first FE game, if you lose a unit to permadeath, what's stopping you from soft-resetting? And if you really suck and lose lot's of units, do you purchase more? or is it game over after you lose a certain amount?
This game will feature casual mode (no permadeath) and classic (permadeath). With casual mode, if a unit falls in battle, they're out for the duration of the fight, but will become available again when you've finished. And nothing is stopping you from soft-resetting should you want to play classic mode. :) That's actually how classic players play and survive! (i think i've restarted Radiant Dawn more times than I can count xD ) I think that's one of the reasons why they've included a power to "turn back time" so you don't have to restart the whole battle over again (though it has limited uses).
U can reset, u usually have to start from the beginning of the level. Im not sure if this is a feature in newer games but the older ones give you generic nameless units if you lose too many characters.
