Used to live next to someone who played under Redknapp on the South Coast in the academy (got injured and had to quit). When he was Spurs manager, they used to get texts every now and then saying 'throw-in before minute 2' or similar.
Having watched the four fouls which Paqueta made, and which he was booked for, it’s difficult to see how the FA have a case. Not particularly bad tackles, and probably down to poor refereeing more than looking for a booking.
I'm surprised they didn't blame West Ham fans. Then trotted out the 'careful what you wish for' trope, whilst claiming things would never have got to this stage if Moyes was still in charge.

Similar to when Kieren Trippier 'manipulated the betting' markets, he only got a 10 week ban and a £70k fine.
@@darreno2428 Trippier wasn't match fixing though, he told a relative that he was definitely going to Atletico Madrid before the bookies & media knew and they put a bet on it.
This is worse, compromising the integrity of a game is worse than betting on a match result that you aren't even involved with.

How is it not match fixing? Say Paqueta (allegedly) did this without meaning to actually hurt his teams chances in a game...him getting a yellow card means he cannot commit to tackling any further for fear of a red...which ultimately means he _chooses_ plays differently and compromises his teams defending (and hence chance to win the game)...

I am sorry if you get booked during the game it affects your ability to function for your team for the rest of the game because if you get another yellow you are off, so it can affect the outcome of a game.

How many managers tell players to get booked so they'll miss an unimportant match and be available for crucial game.

Yes - the FA need that solid evidence now before he was charged. They should be ready to put him in front of a tribunal immediately having presented him with the evidence against him so that his representation can assess that evidence and compile a defence (if he indeed has one). Simon is right, keep perspective here.
If I have understood well, Paqeta did not bet, and FA has no evidence that he has any contact with the third person who bets, FA has no evidence that he has a share in the third person's profit.
This FA lawsuit is in the metapfysical realm.

Silly boys especially in cases like this because they don't actually profit from it, it's 'manipulating the betting markets' which is exactly what kieren Trippier was found guilty of with 100% undeniable evidence, he got a 10 week ban and a £70k fine.

Some of a number of those yellow cards were totally unnecessary and he was not getting anywhere near the ball, plus the fact bets were placed based on him getting yellows or for discipline back in Brazil , it's a bit dodgy

Paqueta' and Tonali. Thankfully we washed our hands off both quickly enough, and got nearly 90m for both 🤣I've watched the 4 yellow cards. 2 are pretty soft whilst the other 2 are poor fouls. Regarding the last one, he was basically booked for 'persistent fouling' AKA he was desperate to get himself booked 🤣
Don’t let this distract you from 115.
More and more gambling breaches. Fines unless extortionate (proportional to what wages these players are on) won’t achieve anything, and a ban of however long doesn’t really deal with the root cause, which is addiction. Instead there should be help provided to stop the gambling in the first place, and use all these examples as educational examples for the younger generation coming up as well as current players. If mainstream players that have been found out like tonali, toney, and paqueta have been caught, imagine how many players in the lower leagues all the way down to grass roots have the same issue but haven’t been found out or isn’t worth being publicised. Start helping these lads and move forward progressively, rather than papering over the cracks.

How do you prove someone is getting on purpose the South American players always get yellow cards because they are aggressive and complain a lot. Furthermore what does a yellow card have to do with the outcome of a game ?
There is one thing you should never do as a player and it is betting, and also advise your family members to bet on anyone but you or any team but your team. If you lose they won’t come after you, but the moment you start winning or your friends and family start winning, which is the essence of betting so that you can win, the betting companies will come after you.
