Hey Amin, glad you enjoyed the video. All these models with the CVT have the 2.0T motor. It's been a very popular engine for Audi and used in lots of models. Cheers!
Thanks for the question Fabian. We recommend replacing the filter with the trans fluid every 40k miles. Since the cost of the filter is less than $60, it's cheap peace of mind. Especially since the internal filter is really not replaceable since you have to split the case open. That external one is the only filter you can change. Cheers!
@@YeiDCalle Thanks for the comments, going past 40k is the fastest way to be buying a new one. It's imperative to change it on time if you'd like to keep driving your CVT Audi. Cheers!

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your Audi. That is completely normal after replacing the CVT. There is component protection on all the electronic parts for Audi/VW. Like we described in the video, you will either need to use your TCU from the old transmission since it's registered to your VIN or you will need to reprogram the new transmission so it can be registered to your car. Please reach out to us over on our Instagram account and we can put you in touch with the guy who programmed ours. instagram.com/BradleyGarage/ Cheers!
Thanks for the question Alex, apologies we did not include those in the video description originally. You will need (2) O-rings, Part# N90666003 www.fcpeuro.com/products/vw-seal-ring-genuine-vw-n90666003 Good luck on your Audi project. Cheers!
Thanks for the question, but we are not sure exactly what part you are looking for since there are no coolant lines connected to the CVT. Please provide us with a little more information and we would be happy to help. Cheers!
Thanks for the question, you can do it at home. You will however need to have a nice transmission jack as this CVT trans is very heavy. You will also have to have the car in the air high enough to slide the trans out. Other than those two things you should be able to accomplish this in your driveway. Good luck on your Audi project, be sure to let us know how it goes. Cheers!
Hey Jay, thanks for the question. We used the complete CVT from the junkyard car. That is why we needed to do the programming for the TCM. Since Audi has the component protection, you would need to keep your existing TCM in order to swap the trans out and not need programming. Hope that helps with your Audi project, Cheers!
Thanks for the question, it really comes down to personal preference. The most important thing you will want to look at for either transmission is service history. For the CVT, fluids need to be changed every 30k. On the S Tronic/DSG they typically are done at 40k miles. If these don't get changed on time, then you run the risk of having a situation like we had on ours. Purchased the car with 163k miles on it with unknown service history. Only went a few thousand miles before the CVT just went out. Premature failure can happen anytime with poor or neglected maintenance. The CVT will be a smoother ride and theoretically more efficient (gas mileage). You won't really notice shifting since it's a belt sliding along a cone shape. These transmissions come in the smaller engine, less powerful models. They are only offered in FWD and not Quattro. For the S Tronic/DSG you will notice the shifts and feel the gear changes. It will be a more spirited driving experience where you can have more control with paddles. This option will give you the ability to have Quattro AWD if that is important to you. These transmissions came in the higher HP models which typically have more options and better features. Our ultimate advice would be to locate a manual and never have to worry about a transmission going out, plus they are a lot more fun to drive. Hope this helps with your question. Cheers!
Thanks for the comments, we were fortunate that Ken let us borrow a shop lift for this one. It would be tougher in the driveway for sure, you would need to have a nice transmission jack to make things go smooth. That transmission is extremely heavy, no way to muscle it in. Cheers!
Thanks for the question. If you are doing a filter change, you can add the initial fill from the top through that hole. The actual "fill" hole is the same as the drain hole. You need to either manually or electronically pump the fluid up through the bottom once the transmission has reached the optimal temperature. This requires a cable (VCDS) and software in order to view the current fluid temps inside the transmission. The engine will be running while in park to accomplish this. Hope this helps answer your question. Cheers!
