The biggest threat are ICBM'S that travel at Mach 20+ speeds. If this can only stop mid range missiles that travel at Mach 5 we still have a long way to go but this is a good step in the right direction.
We shot down an ICBM missile in 1973 with the ground base laser so no we don’t have a long way to go. They’re just showing you stuff that’s been classified to seeker for quite some time.
I would think that any defensive weapon is worth pursuing since we all know that eventually costs come down and defense is the only way to end this insane propagation of war
They need to develop an "All Solutions" defencive energy weapon, that will handle the full range of very large to very small offencive weapons. If this system can bring them all down then it is getting close to that. Energy weapons need a powerful and reliable source of energy, also accurate and sensitive detection and positioning systems. Apparently timely "detection" is one of the challenges related to these small drone cluster attacks.
These aircraft compared to the planes I crewcheifed on are amazing! I crewed on T 33s, F100rds and F4Cs right from the factory, aswell they departed to for bases in Europe. Served 4yrs USAF in Warner Robin's AFB Ga., then S Vietnam, Bien Hoa AFB, than an Air Force station, in Adrian Mi. Finished my 4yrs of enlistment! Now I'm a retired heavy equipment operator from the IUOE18 Union, Ohio! 👍 👌
I think if we develop them more lasers are better than missiles and they don't ruin the climate like nuclear does they don't contaminate large areas with radiation or blood out the Sun.
Being a Retired Disabled Veteran who started service in the early 1970's and I watch technology advance throughout my career. All you have to do is look at the when the SR-71 was developed and the speed it traveled at. The SR-71 was highly top secret and keep under wraps until Israel tried to shoot one down doing surveillance over Israel and the middle east. So what advanced laser systems are under warps now that we have developed over the past decades. Another example is the F-15 which was unveiled back in the 1970's or the F22 Raptor was developed back in the late 1980's. We have technology that is beyond most peoples imagination, trust me.
The F22 Raptor is a awesome plane but yet we stop production because of operational cost yet we spend $100 million on the F35 also and only 29% of them are operational.
Not weapons at these power levels. "laser doesn't burn through anything blue" liar, lasers have no problem with cutting blue painted metal. You're as BS as many others who try to make it sound like they know what they about.
Working on them since the 1960's and they are still not common all over our military, I can think of one reason, standard military defense contractors have been dragging their feet, because when these things become standard, the need for missels and traditional military weapon will be kind of obsolete, bur I would want max compliments of both, so that if the laser systems are damaged we still have defensive capabilities.
I agree with a previous comment, these systems placed strategically around all of our American and the Canadian borders for defense would be amazing security. Quark fusion is an amazing discovery, these scientists and engineers should be Noble prize candidates. I know fusion technology requires a lot of energy itself to collide, does the accelerator require a lot of space regardless of where to is mounted?
I don’t care for laser weapons, but what I do care they need insane amount of electricity for energy weapons, but projectile weapons don’t need that much energy unless if you go for a rail gun, then they need a lot of energy and they destroy themselves but the downside for laser weapons is that they can be very protective. I mean, you can literally counter the laser weapon. That’s why laser weapons are unpractical unless if you’re using it for this specific reason or mission because while they can melt down armor, but it doesn’t go for the hall damage just armor damage
as of now laser armaments are mounted in airplanes warships , military trucks and other means of structures suited for the purpose. If we can train communities to operate laser weapons and build smaller but powerful units, then we can mobilize larger areas to operate and defend our countries.
These laser weapons need the power as generated by a nuclear power plant to be as effective as they need to be. That is why they are as effective as they are on our nuclear powered ships. Truly unbeatable weapon at that point.
As stated, the problem is a sufficient power source. I've never heard of "quark fusion." It's obviously blue-sky, or else it would be everywhere. We won't have serious laser weapons until the power problem is solved.
They should try stacking the fiber optic lasers like you do with a diode laser in a knife edge array this could be done in a x configuration that would boost the power..
Also cut a crystal with a facet that is at a degree that each acts as a mirror angling the individual fiber optic beams into the comulating lenses this would tighten the beams before they enter the comulating lenses.
EMP'S strategically positioned, (like a shape charge, aimed away from the ship) set at a frequency that would mask the LASER SIGNAL. Make sense? And I mean these shape charged EMP'S could be on numerous drones circulating in random patterns far out from the LASER.
Fission has run away power because it keeps knocking atoms apart of uranium , Fission power lets to Atoms create a new element which creates energy and is by far the holy grail of power generation. Not sure which you mean but just clarifying.
I think a cork pulse laser would be a good addition to an F22. It would help defendant against missiles. And help foreground attack missions. If it could be. Done stealthy enough. Do not compromise the airplane.
The same way the AC 130 gunship detects hidden targets the aircraft with a laser on it flies up real high and when the target underground moves or is activated, the lasers turned on it and destroys it in seconds. Versus the time it takes for 130 mm rounds to hit the ground From that aircraft.

Some say, "Tesla proposed that a nation could 'destroy anything approaching within 200 miles... [and] will provide a wall of power' in order to 'make any country, large or small, impregnable against armies, airplanes, and other means for attack.' He claimed to have worked on the project since about 1900, and said that it drew power from the ionosphere, which he called 'an invisible ball of energy surrounding Earth.'"
All lasers are weak in a situation where there is clouds, rains or dust or disturbances in the air. As for the navy, an ideal situation would be where the laser output comes out from the highest point of the ship for maximum range as well as being able to kill very near range targets.
now you know this video is showing stuff that's been declassified because these lasers are about 20 years old, they've been in the US military inventory for the longest for two decades now! all new aircraft carriers will have Tara watt laser weapons, as standard armaments, especially the ford class carriers!
I want to know more about pulsed power and its pros and cons. I'm an electrical engineer. I understand lasers but I'd like to know how powerful lasers. An be powered with availability of uculeary
*How do you rate the effectiveness of this US laser weapon?*
The biggest threat are ICBM'S that travel at Mach 20+ speeds. If this can only stop mid range missiles that travel at Mach 5 we still have a long way to go but this is a good step in the right direction.

Can you say "gamechanger"?
@StylezUnlmtd which is faster, the speed of sound (mach), or light?
Where is Capt Kirk and Spock
We need one of these every 100 miles around the border of the US
Just stop electing Democrats and we can have it!
Yes... more on Quark fusion tech!!!
This is what's needed for all those proposed lights in and around our eastern seaboard!
Yes we definitely need this technology
USA Technology! Let freedom ring!🇺🇸
Its not the laser that is the invention its the power source, and portabilty of such power source.
Speed of light. Way to go!
Please make the quark fusion video.
Absolutely, a necessary weapon.
I hail thee AMERICAN!! You are always the best before any.
Thank you America thank you Israel ❤
Fascinating video! I’d love to see a follow-up on Quark Fusion technology and its potential applications.❤
Coming soon!
I would think that any defensive weapon is worth pursuing since we all know that eventually costs come down and defense is the only way to end this insane propagation of war
I stand by my statement US NAVY FIRST, SECOND TO NONE!
Dam rite
it will totally help the soldiers. Any extra layer of protection for our soldiers is ALWAYS a GOOD THING.
This is so good to know we are making incredible advances in this area. It's great.
Navy 1st, 2nd to none! Let freedom Ring!
THE US NAVY IS A BROKE JOKE BECAUSE IT CAN'T STOP THE HOUTHIS IN THE RED SEA.THE US NAVY IS SECOND TO THE HOUTHIS
A job well done United States
Incredible advancements! The speed and precision of these laser weapons are game-changers. But the detection vulnerability needs addressing.💥
The developers say " to stop a hypersonic missile the laser output will have to be in the megawatts
Keep us up to date on perfection of cork fusion progress
They don't blot out the Sun effexor short lived as far as the environment
YES LASERS ARE A NEEDED TOOL to help protect our troops and NATION.
Laser weapons will be mounted on drones and that will be a great change in the warfares.

Please show a video on Quark fusion energy!
I think it is her for good! Awesome capabilities! More info on quark fusion would be great!
I think it's already here man
Yes what has been seen in isreal is proof this tech needs more science and more money. Makes us the best in the world.
MTHEL was tested in 1998 in Israel. It has been improved much since that time.
Amazing... so thankful
All ahead full now
Most welcome 😊
Quirk Fusion.?. I’m interested in that.😉.
I think that we would all agree that in combat a little bit of everything helps
I think if we develop them more lasers are better than missiles and they don't ruin the climate like nuclear does they don't contaminate large areas with radiation or blood out the Sun.
Hopefully number one because if it's not we're done
It's a big advantage.
They are so powerful this weapons
Love This❤

Yes, more information
Will do!
Ruimte schip enterprijs de lazer is net zo krachtig voorheen fictie nu werkelijkheid powerrrrr.
Kapitein kurk!
Its amazing the technology,,,
Quark fusion - I need to investigate this further, it sounds interesting!!
❤usa defence system❤us army
Maybe we can create a laser shield. After all it is still light .
Yeah. We've seen these weapons in action in Hawaii, and California. Its amazing that the laser doesn't burn through anything blue....
Not weapons at these power levels. "laser doesn't burn through anything blue" liar, lasers have no problem with cutting blue painted metal. You're as BS as many others who try to make it sound like they know what they about.
It's ironic that this information would be given out, knowing other countries can develop the same
That's the Iron Dome!!!

Ford fusion could also change how we power, our homes and our industry!
Is
Are hi power lasers possible on the F22?
If not, is it feasible to get power to power the lasers?
Could mirrored surfaces on targets - lessen their vulnerability?
I agree with a previous comment, these systems placed strategically around all of our American and the Canadian borders for defense would be amazing security. Excellent..
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you Jesus! A strong USA !
THE USA IS NOT STRONG BECAUSE THE US HAS NOT DEVELOPED A SYSTEM TO STOP HYPERSONIC MISSILES; ISRAEL'S IRON DOME FAILED

There are a lot of logiees that will be ecstatic about this tech.
Could lasers be focused in such a way that they could be reflected from a few drones with 'mirrors' to target enemies behind obstacles?
Amazing wepon for military use
doesn't require ammunition but the power source is vulnerable. unkess it canuse a tether generaor as well
Laser boosted rockets and munitions. Shields against RF radiation. Rotation of the laser beam on its radial axis.
excellent
Thank you! Cheers!
as of now laser armaments are mounted in airplanes warships , military trucks and other means of structures suited for the purpose. If we can train communities to operate laser weapons and build smaller but powerful units, then we can mobilize larger areas to operate and defend our countries.
Buck Rogers is here. The good ole lazer gun.

Say it 3 times, really fast,"Navy first, second to none!"
Can ya do it?
IS QUARK FUSION GOOD FOR OTHER POWER SYSTEMS? LIKE SPACE TRAVEL [ PROPOLSION] LIGHT SPEED

Yes way worth it take my money
@@rcbear5863 yeah, true Americans support protection. Protection first, we must stay alive or we won't be here to eat.
EMP'S strategically positioned, (like a shape charge, aimed away from the ship) set at a frequency that would mask the LASER SIGNAL. Make sense? And I mean these shape charged EMP'S could be on numerous drones circulating in random patterns far out from the LASER.
+ EMP tasers, it's fun 😊
Falling America's missile defense systems also got hit by Russians old rusty missiles.😂😅

Lock target scanners & fire phasers
Quark fusion is a theoretical way to produce more energy than fusion of hydrogen. It has not been done and is a goal that will be far into the future.
We need these all over our coastal areas.
10/10
So let's do it!
I think a cork pulse laser would be a good addition to an F22.
It would help defendant against missiles.
And help foreground attack missions.
If it could be. Done stealthy enough.
Do not compromise the airplane.
Looks like they would have to have one to protect the other
If the short pulse laser is as strong and as effective as you say, then yes invest in them.
They have already got it ,they aren't fishing, as the US can't help to tell the world as the ruskies and Chinese, hmm 🤔
Yes my deceased husband is now partying up there…his Navy still is #1❤️😎🙏
I want my hands solo hip gun and an storm trooper battle rifle 👍👍
The direct-attack limitation of lasers is a significant drawback. How can they be used effectively against hidden targets💗
The same way the AC 130 gunship detects hidden targets the aircraft with a laser on it flies up real high and when the target underground moves or is activated, the lasers turned on it and destroys it in seconds. Versus the time it takes for 130 mm rounds to hit the ground From that aircraft.

Go with the pulse weapons. They are more effective.
Yep that 1000 watt short pulse laser
Yes sir best offence is good defence
Can't play golf with a tennis ball, get ready
Well try it out in NJ.

Laser should place in outer space
What about fog , clouds, rain, dust?
wait for the first super carrier equipped with a hydrogen fusion powerplant. Could have far more powerful weapon systems onboard at that point
As long as we are under God of the Bible and his direction ,we can master anything but in God we trust AMENS.
I want to know more about pulsed power and its pros and cons. I'm an electrical engineer. I understand lasers but I'd like to know how powerful lasers. An be powered with availability of uculeary
Where is the Quark Fusion come from?
If you have a one gigawatt system no missile would be safe with the right sensor tech.
Quark Fusion sounds revolutionary. If they can overcome the energy challenges, this could be a true game-changer for warfare💫
How intelligent does man need to become before he finds a way to live in peace?
