The swiped rates and the card-not-present rates, on average are typically about 50 basis points or half of a percentage point apart.
Meaning if you swipe the card, it’s going to be let’s say 1.80% which includes the processor fees and interchange fees.
By contrast key entered can range from 2.25% to 2.65%
Key entered, card-not-present - in short, EVERYTHING that does NOT qualify to be card present.

• Merchant Account Rate ...
Get a lot of questions about merchant account rates.
Over my time in the payments industry (15 years)
Less and less business owners have that as their #1 priority with the emergence of software integrations and the increase in options that you have as a business owner to accept credit cards.
But we’ll stay focused today and do the comparison between card present and card not present rates… coming up .
Strike and NCR seem to have a way to reduce the swipe fees. Interesting times.
With all the other fees, I am about 6% of total transaction, always card not present and my business is with huge corporations that issue what the call P cards, but are still Master or Visa. I process on my computer on their merchant portal. I asked them to look at lowering my cost, but not heard back.......I'm tired of losing 6% on a recurring 4000.00 monthly invoice. What to do??
Hey Joseph, thanks for the comment. I think you're referencing Purchasing cards. I have a client work accepts purchasing cards from a major corporation. you're rates shouldn't be 6% though unless your somehow in a high risk industry or you have some other reason for a non-traditionally underwritten merchant account. Feel free to reach out if you want. I will go through the details with you and give you some options. You can schedule here: www.bancardsales.com/cal/brian Talk to you soon..
Can you help me about the request of my boss? "What I need is a list of platforms that allow admins to give multiple access to a payment card or payment account so others can make payments on my behalf.
For example if I wanted to assign this task to you to make a payment to Karla for example, I wouldn't want to give you my bank details to transfer any amount you wanted to any account without my permission, however if I needed you to make a payment I can track this and the payment would be safe for me."
I have a client that is looking for a payment gateway system to utilize for his business. He is looking to compensate as an offer of 6% on every charged transaction. Is there anyone here that can help?
