• Stripe Invoice Example...
Let’s take a look at how to send an invoice so you can receive payment by using the invoice function in the Stripe dashboard. No coding required.
This is part of the stripe payment processing tutorials so be sure to check out the stripe tutorials playlist linked in the description or on the screen.
Stripe Invoicing is pretty simple to use and the invoice generator allows for easy customizations right from your dashboard.
There’s no code required to use the features that I’ll show you today, so so all you need to do is log into your stripe account And find the CREATE button right in the main menu at the top and if you click for the dropdown menu, select the INVOICE option with your mouse or by using the HotKeys “c” and “i” in order to automatically launch the invoice generator.
As with the other 3 dashboard options (Subscriptions, Payment Links, and Virtual Terminal or Dashboard Payments) , you can select a customer that you’ve already added to your account.
If you don’t have the customer added yet, there’s 2 ways to add them.
#1 is by just clicking to add the customer right here and entering the customer data in the lightbox that pops up.
#2022 is from the main menu inside your Stripe account, click the CUSTOMERS tab and the ADD CUSTOMER button and fill in the customer info there.
Once your customer is selected,
Add product
Click the ITEMS box and add a product from your previously stored product list.
Once again If you don’t have any products yet,, just click add new button and add the product right here just like I’ve shown in the previous stripe tutorial videos, or from the main Dashboard before you get to the invoice editor screen that we’re in, you can click the PRODUCTS tab in the main menu and add it there.
Back in the invoice editor, once you’ve selected your product, You can click the ITEM OPTIONS box and select a tax, or add an ITEM COUPON if you’d like.
This will auto apply the coupon, so the customer does NOT have to enter it in order to receive the discount… it’s automatically added.
If you want to add MULTIPLE PRODUCTS to your invoice, you can just click ADD ITEM and repeat the process.
Once all of your products are set, you have the option to add an ADDITIONAL coupon to the entire order if you want.
And it’s important to note that there IS a difference between adding a couple to a single product or to the entire order, so make sure you select accordingly.
It’s always a good idea to double check your totals under the preview screen off to the right and you can double check if you added a total invoice coupon, it will give you a subtotal prior to the global coupon being applied as shown here.
Payment
You can send the invoice and “automatically charge a payment method on file” by checking this radio button,
OR
You can “Email the invoice to a customer with the link to the payment page”
You CAN choose to email the invoice WITH the payment link (which is the default) and you’ll notice the big blue button that says “PAY THIS INVOICE” in the email tab preview screen that’s sent out to the customer, if you select this option.
IF however, you wanted email WITHOUT the payment link, the Payment page preview disappears, and you’ll collect payment another way.

In your pdf invoice you only had the customer support email and phone number instead of the whole company address. How did you do that? I know there's a setting under public information with a toggle. But for me, even toggling it off and deleting all fields, it remains to show the country (United States) because that drop down field can't be resetted.

hello, are there some ways to edit ‘Invoice PDF’ on Stripe to make the “Pay Online” button more visible? like putting it in the center below, or making the font size larger?

Super helpful vide thanks! Does stripe or any other online invoicing system allow for automatic discounts or surcharge based on payment type selected? For instance automatically apply a 1% discount to the invoice when ACH payment is selected or add a 1.5% surcharge for a CC payment.

On my invoice, I disabled the Support address in the public details but when I create a new invoice it's still there. Why does this happen?
