Can't lie, as much as I love DK, this Cloud is clearly showing how strong his fundamentals are (looks like an even match). But Chunkys adaptation is insane.
I guess DK's problem was he didn't parry EVERYTHING. Seriously; DK was straight up parrying all of Nikos aerials no matter what he was throwing at him. Shit was a clinic. Couldn't tell you exactly how and why ChunkyKong lost; but I think its close as far as skill level. At this level; the characters really don't matter as much as the player who can punish and push advantage state the hardest.
Chunky is trying to be fancy instead of doing things that are simple and get the job done. Also he is going for too many grabs where a foward tilt or jab would put him in a better position to trap Niko
Yeah the whole “charge giant punch for one single frame mixup” that doesn’t make the opponent go “???!!!!” and be entirely flabbergasted like he thinks it does has gotta go lmao
Yeah cloud just has goated neutral. Honestly, this match probably would have swung more in cloud favor if he just started using side b more so that the hitbox comes out slightly slower than he was throwing out his areals. That literally just ruins anyone tryina shield/parry
With DK as my main, and Cloud as my prior secondary, I think this matchup tends to favor DK. Tbh, I think Chunky just had an off set. He spent way too much time above Niko in the first and last matches. Which is the LAST place I want to be against Cloud. Both players adapted well in the middle rounds. Chunky’s parry game was on POINT, and Niko dominated neutral.
@Exhaiel89 what? Nah. Ganon has the worst recovery. Then it's doc. Mac's recovery is only bad when he has to double jump and even then, he's got good mixups kuz side b is so fast. Cloud's is actually pretty good kuz of the combination of having side b and, his big sword, and big magnet hands.
